Try repose. Works for me. I'm 100% on it in dynamis for non-trigger mobs.

I've brushed off this suspicion in the past, but after being on sleep duty for a half dozen runs of Cracking Shells in the last few days, I suspect something is making WHMs resist it more, too.

For those who don't know, in that BC you can't separate the spawns from the main NM like you apparently can in the others, so you pretty much have to babysit them the whole time. They are already pretty resistant to it, and build a resistance over time, but the WHM of the three resists noticeably more often than the others. I've gotten partial resists (reduced duration) on a few runs from just the initial cast (before any built-up resistance) on that one, too.

It's strange that, if it is MND, that it should vary so considerably between WHMs and other jobs with only slightly lower MND, unless maybe the stat component of Macc is in some way tiered. I doubt it's MDB, although I won't completely discount the possibility.

whm and pld are usually only hard to sleep when they cast shell. if they're resisting try to dispel then sleep again.

i've always found shell to be a problem when trying to sleep the ZR mamool for the 15 hands frog and chalked that up to the whm amongst them shelling them all making it hard for me to land a sleep. in contrast, i have no trouble getting the nin and friends in the other direction to sleep.

I can confirm the hell out of this, shell or no shell. I'm typically the main crowd-controller for our runs, and I've wiped to a shitload more WHMs due to sleep resists than any other mob.

Yup I know this well too, as a blm / whm in my dynamis, whms almost always resist sleeps more than any other mob but plds. Repose seems to have a higher success rate. Repose is divine magic, and sleep is enfeeb. If target's INT/MND affects their resistance to nuke, what about enfeeb, and what about divine? I don't really know very well.

I don't know if it's that Repose works better so much as there are less chances for Repose to miss, since that's usually a backup plan for when Sleep misses. In one of our runs you'll see black magic Sleep cast a shitload and Repose cast maybe 3-4 times.

BLM enfeebling is C+; WHM divine skill is A-.

It could be as simple as that; unless they also have rdm leveled I don't know too many blms who bother meriting enfeebling skill.

But I don't have really any divine skill+ gear (newish gimpo whm) vs +43 enfeeb skill on blm...

If a blm has space available in the magic category and does not merit enfeebling in additional to elemental they're crazy. Any blm, especially those who solo exp, should realize the drastic difference enfeeb merits can make. On the contrar to the blms you know, all the ones in my shell merit enfeebling skill if possible.

Also it might just be me, but I would think a BLM is a lot more likely to own a Pluto's staff than a WHM is to own an Apollo's, but that's probably a minor detail.

For the record I own both Pluto's and Apollo's; and I noticed Repose sticking better on whm mobs (mobs in general) in Xarc than sleep did on my +43 enfeeb skill blm (I don't have enfeeb merits because I am not really a career blm). It can't be a freak fluke because it happens every time, but repose does seem to have better chance of landing on pretty much everything vs sleep, at least to me. RDMs don't count of course XD

I've always thought spells have different base accuracy just like WS, and repose was just more accurate than sleep. Yawn for example is pretty accurate even without a staff or any int/mnd/chr gear equipped.

Thou I've heard of repose sticking on mobs that are otherwise immune to sleep/lullaby, so maybe it's just ignoring some part of the equation.

defiantly different spells have different base acc (I remember seeing a screenshot here on BG with a book, posted by elmer I believe, stating some variance in M.acc on nukes being lower on higher tiers then the lower tier nukes)

Sleep II imho, is more accurate then sleep I, in addition to the extra 30sec duration

dispel/finale as we all know has a significant m.acc bonus compared to nearly any other spell.

and stun/flash are nearly unresistable against nearly every monster unless specific resistance to the effect (though duration resist can be heavy, the effect still happens)

As a BLM, I definitely notice it in Dynamis. Specifically Xarcabard. As a RDM, they all sleep the same except PLDs.

    I don't know too many who don't... it's crucial.

I always thought it was the magic defense trait that gave this bonus resist to enfeebling.

This is what I find as well. On rdm only really notice a difference on pld mobs, but blms tend to get killed a lot more from multi-whm pulls if rdms do not sleep them quickly.

It's obvious, the whms mobs are racist vs blms sleeping them.

Ok, noted. Maybe they do have it merited and just don't mention it; If it's as vital as you all are saying, they probably do.
