If you take a local group of militia, you would most likely get the regional average. The one I'm talking about are terrorists who go oversea to attack another country.

The average IQ is pretty damn low if you ask me. If someone is able to plan something 2 years ahead and actually go through (most of) his plans, there is a good chance he is intelligent and know what he is doing, even if he is not the bigger mastermind behind the plan.

Someone retarded is someone who can't see the contradiction in his opinions. If your opinions are based on your beliefs, there is a good chance he can justify war just fine.

Why not ask whoever cited the study to produce the link? You could then take a quick glance at it yourself and know for sure, yea?

But let's compare apples to apples, and I can safely propose that there is little difference between, say, a patriotic farmer in south Carolina then a guerrilla fighter in Iraq.

Both hold the same consequentialist moral authority, where as one puts unjustified belief in democracy and freedom and the other into whatever Allah's will is. Both parties are propagandized very similarily.

The difference in rationale is simply circumstantial.

The question whether one is mentally ill or not is irrelevant. Environmental circumstances ensure that irrelavency.
