Blood DK raiding glyphs. Dark Death (Death Coil) + Death Strike + which? There's Unholy Blight which this guide recommends and the Pestilence one which I currently use (refreshes disease on your target with pestilence). Is the damage you gain from Unholy Blight better than the damage you'd do with the runes you save from pestilence?
And if Unholy Blight is better, is that also why they recommend outbreak for 30% more plaguestrike damage over Necrosis?
Your blood runes are for Heart Strikes, forget the Pestilence and use UB glyph imo.
I've been following what they say at Elitist Jerks for my Blood Spec on DK. I use Glyph of Disease (instead of Dark Death) and let Pestilence refresh my diseases (especially on multiple targets) and then spam HS 5 times when I have the ability to do so.
Edit: Looking at your original question the glyphs I use are Dancing Rune Weapon + Disease + Death Strike
You're probably right now that I think about it; IT-PS-DS-HS-HS-DS-RP/Pest-HSx5-RP/Pest-DS-DS-HS-RP/Pest-HSx5-RP etc makes more sense than trying to repeat the initial diseases all the time, and gives you a good pattern rather than having to weave DS and HS back and forth all the time.
I see that it has been discussed some in the last 2 pages but I have some rogue questions.
I am pretty much a noob 80 rogue. My guild is people I used to work with and I've never seen more than 5 on at once. As the only rogue, resources for info are small. I've met a few on the server who've given me advice.
Questions:
1. What are good/standard addons for rogues and wow in general?
Right now I use RogueFocus, QuestHelper, Cartographer
2. What forums/websites can I find some information on rotations/specs?
Right now I am combat swords main with the ebon blade 1 hander and the wyrmrest 1 hander. I am also Mut build with dagger of the risiing moon/namlak's sticker. I have mongoose on my daggers and use my secondary the most right now. I picked up one of the brewfest maces.
3. Should I go back to combat with maces? What spec/offhand shoud I use? I was originally planning on dualing avool's with berserk + mongoose. (plannng this for my daggers but berserk was 2k when I was enchanting them, 500g now)
I am pvping wintergrasp a lot to try and upgrade my gear.
I was invited on a "learning" run by some members of one of the top alliance guilds on my server. We did Naxx 25 and cleared the arachnid and 1 of the plague(i think) bosses before they got sick of the idiot tanks not staying off the casters at the safety dance boss. The long story short is, my dps was kind of sad with mut build in there. My highest rank was 9th on one of the bosses. The top 5 were all the dps from the sponsor guild though.
Looking for improvement, any advice is useful. My playtime is sporadic at best so advice like find a guild that will gear you up isn't a real option right now. I am too damn busy at work to commit to a raiding guild.
4. Where can I get a good parser to check and test my dps?
Thank you

Rogues don't need many addons, but timers for your cooldowns/debuffs sure help. Try ClassTimer.
Read Pocket Guide to WOTLK (updated for 3.2) - Elitist Jerks and it will answer most of your questions about rotation/spec and whether to use maces with combat (short answer: don't) I do not recommend asking questions there, it will get you banned in a hurry.
Install Recount for a quick and dirty look at your personal DPS, put it somewhere discreet on your UI and disable it when out of combat.
General 'how do I play good' questions are answered mostly in the E-J thread linked above. If you're a fresh 80 get some gear in regular ToC, farm badges from heroics and do your Ebon Blade/Hodir rep dailies for your head/shoulder enchants, these are basics shared amongst all classes.
All I got is 4) Download recount. Can't help much with the rest though.
FYI: Recount is bad mojo if you have any kind of latency problems. Use WWS (combine with LoggerHead to make sure logging gets turned on during raids) if you're just looking for self litmus after a night's run; you can't use it for realtime data like Recount, but since it's just parsing a text log postmortem it doesn't cause disconnects like Recount does.
I use Skada for my real-time parsing (been using WoL for guild raid stuffs). I have it set-up t work as both a damage parser and threat metere, so it actually let me get rid of 1 add-on. It's a lot lighter than Recount (though, it parses data differently than Recount does. The numbers are always lower than Recount's. I basically use it to get a benchmark on damage and to see where I am rank-wise).
Is it common for people to switch mains once a new expansion rolls around?
I'd imagine that when you've been raiding for a year+ on a single toon it's fun to switch things up, especially when you can see new levels and such on a different char and not just the same areas with different buttons to press.
Personally I never tire of Druid and its versatility, though I'd still like to do some alts cause the rest of the classes are still fun, for what little I've played of them. I'm not really sure how people get so godawful bored in this game lol.
(But I also don't play every day so that probably has something to do with it)
Personally I felt that WoTLK pretty much destroyed the fun of Ret, so I rerolled a mage a couple days after it came out. Then later switched back to Paladin, but protection, I still can barely stand to play Ret.
I know tons of people that just feel that their class was better before expansions and want to change for that reason alone.
I wouldn't change my main from Rogue unless they really fuck shit up. It's easy to stay a pure DPS class your entire WoW career (until the inevitable inertia of boredom sets in). I imagine the decision to reroll is made for you more readily if you're a class capable of healing/dpsing/tanking amongst your specs, as it gives Blizz more opportunities to take your toys away forever.
Does TotGC share a lockout with the normal TotC
No
Ret can actually hurt things this expansion
I think I'm going to dual spec my DK to tank, just to farm heroics because LFG channel all yesterday was "LF1M Tank <instance>" "LF tank <raid>" etc. I have a healer buddy I can get to heal me for some early gear and then I'll change my dual spec to be for PvP once I have enough gear. Anyway~ I'd like to see someone else's frost spec, I made my own but a bit unsure. I was going to focus on AOE threat for heroics mainly. http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?deat...z,wpS3eO,10522 is my spec/glyph choices, anything I should change up?
Oh I think they did an amazing job with buffing Ret and allowing it to shine as a spec, but its really boring and I can't stand to play it anymore. Managing mana with down ranking and chain chugging fel mana potions and dark runes on trash was fun to me. Plus FCFS rotation is about as boring as it comes, nothing like the old Ret rotation.
