Last I checked, druids were the highest EH tank, period.

Effective Health
They have the largest healthpool and the highest armor, their total dodge adds up to a bit less than any other tank's dodge+parry usually, and paw block is only good on single targets that don't attack quickly.
Hey now, no pointing out the downsides to so much raw hp/armor, as long as we stick to commenting about their EH, no other tanks can be nerfed.
Is everyone still enjoying their DK's? Got one at 68 along with a warrior about the same level, and looking to main one of them for cat (if my 73hunter doesnt turn out to be fun in pve). DK's are slowly being nerfed down so trying to see if I should just discontinue it for now and finish the warrior first.
DK is up and down like pally and probably always will be.
War will always be a solid class that's on the low end of balance early and gets, well, "more stronger" than anyone else later in expansions.
I just got mine to 80. It's fun and being good is a bit tough. Being a good one takes some effort and I like that. Figuring out when to use cooldowns to save yourself (IF), healing yourself with death strike (go blood spec) and maximizing Anti-magic shell for saving yourself and/or increasing your RP.
But there's also always like 4 DK's in the queue for anything, so whenever I can sneak into a VoA I'll probably have to compete for drops.
It's not being constantly nerfed down so much as it is just in a constant state of flux. My gearing priorities and rotations have changed around more than my DPS has gone down, to be honest. It's just a matter of being willing to play a class that's constantly changing every patch while Blizzard attempts to figure out exactly where they want it to be.
DK can be fun. The only issue is that for every good DK there's 10 bad ones :/. Too much competition for gear, it's hard to really get anywhere unless you luck out.
This is the truth. The hardest part is getting past people's stigma that just because you're a DK you're automatically a retard. Took me quite a while to build up a reputation on my server as someone with a brain.
I won't lie, my dps has dropped a bit, but it's still competitive.
DK dps hasn't really dropped. Blood has on trash and that's about it. The heartstrike nerf is barely noticeable and most bosses are 1vs1 so it doesn't even matter. I did like 7.2k dps on a twins in ToC10 (I was highest that fight) so yeah. I think I only had 1 or 2 power boosts.
Yeah, DK DPS really hasn't gone downhill at all since the nerf to Shadowfrost DW. I still top meters with ease.
Yeah I know DK's top meters, at least they did throughout Ulduar HM's... idk what I'm looking for really, I want a main for cat and I just am not having fun on anything lately... always wanted a 2H class and both being the same level makes it tough since I don't really know which is more fun endgame without actually doing it. Seems like a waste to level both as well, when I could have geared the one out or done other things, or level another alt in the time.
trust me, DK never stops being fun. being blood and having 2 attacks in my rotation that heals me for 8k+ (combigned, 4k each or so), is fucking broken lol. I'm always one of the last ones alive in a wipe. Beyond that it's great to feel like you bring something worthwhile to the table. abomination's might, horn of winter, ebon plaguebringer are all great raid utility. (as you know). Plus, DK can solo quite a lot that only a pally can match.
My own question: is there a site that will show me progression and horde/alliance numbers for a given server? For my birthday gift im getting my ass off azuremyst and i'd like a server that's actually pugging out toc and whatnot. Azuremyst doesn't even have ulduar 10 on pug status, it's so backwater. I think algolon hasn't even been killed yet. Any ideas?
Blackrock for horde, Tich for alliance.
Either is amazing for the weak side, too, but on the heavy sides they're ridiculous.
I'm on the weak side (alliance) of Blackrock, and you can find gdkp runs any day of the week that full clear toc25.
Believe Mal'ganis horde is supposed to be the same. Some friends of mine heard Illidan was good for alliance too, but they transferred there from blackrock and pretty much all said they wish they hadn't.
awesome thanks. recommendation for pve server? I did the pvp server thing on executus when i first started and it's just not my thing. I like my quiet nights without worrying about getting jumped.
edit: nvm. looks like turalyon is my best bet. thanks for the quick response.
Honestly, I'm on a server where horde can gank you at any point in time and be pretty much guaranteed that if they lose, people will show up in time to help, the numbers are that bad.
I've been ganked twice in the last month, through which I've done all of sons from neutral to exalted, and all the argent shit to the point where I'm only doing it now for gold and rep tokens.
One time was at blowing hodir's horn, the other was when I wasn't paying attention and landed and respecced by chillmaw with a rogue and hunter watching me.
World pvp is like literally dead. The only painful part is how summoning stones can be, and you just have a 40k tank land first, and nobody fucks with you. lol
I don't really see how PVE servers even survive these days with how crazy strong the old pvp servers are.
If you're really that worried about it, just make sure you go to one where you're on the strong side. Horde on blackrock are essentially immune to ganking, there's just almost always going to be too many more around for it to happen.
must be even better on mal'ganis. blackrock is showing a 1/.6 split whereas mal'ganis is showing a 1/.29 0.0
