Sadly maul does not hit harder then caster swings at this level. Yeah the only thing making me keep leveling is that Cat form looks really fun, just ridiculous that they make you go 20 levels to get a proper DPS form.

Yeah thats why I said in the other thread Druid sucks balls till 20 or so. Stick with it![]()
Because your weapon stats are nil in bear form. Until level 55 your animal forms have a fixed base dps; post 55, you start seeing the Feral AP modifier on weaponry to account for the higher dps as you go up through the level ranks. Being an heirloom that weapon is hitting understandably hard.
Heralding back to my scrub days I'm pretty sure I was faster about kills just swinging at stuff with my mace too, with liberal use of spells in between to help the process along/prevent runners from getting too far.
Reasons you may hit harder in caster than bear: Weapon delay. You will hit for the damage every weapon delay for caster. Bears and cats have a fixed starting weapon delay (forget for bear, but its 1.0 for cat) and haste effects that. I leveled as a caster until 20, then switched to feral. I tried being a bear to 12-13-14...it sucked
I've never played as elemental.
This build is pretty standard resto. Once you've got some time under your belt as resto, you might move some things around for flavor.
For glyphs, you should probably take Earth shield, Water mastery and Lesser HW for healing heroics and such. Chain heal glyph is pretty standard for raid healing, but won't net you much in heroics.
Basic healing style will be
1) keep Earth shield up on the tank
2) riptide on cooldown to make use of tidal waves. This can simply go on your tank, or anyone else who is taking small damage
3) LHW for small heals on party members and medium heals on the tank (20% stronger on tank thanks to glyph)
4) HW (hopefully using tidal waves haste effect) for big heals on the tank
5) Chain heal for AOE heals. Don't pick a target away from the group for chain heal, it won't bounce.
Make a Nature swiftness + tidal force macro for "oh shit" heals. Usually will be NS TF Healing wave on tank, or NS TF Chain heal on AOE damage
Just hit 80 on my Prot warrior earlier today and did some regular 80 dungeons and bought whatever BoE I could, any advice on gear?
The World of Warcraft Armory
I'm about to do the Storm Peaks quest chain for the ranged item with tanking stats, and I'm looking on AH for a Titansteel Shield Wall. Honored with the Argent Crusade, trying to get Revered, but I don't think that will happen before heroics. Anything else I can do relatively easily/fast to reach 540 defense and be ready for heroics?
Also, as a tank, should I do heroics first or reg ToC? As a healer or DPS it was easy to jump into both at the same time, but I don't want to be the cause of wipes or anything.
Also, I'm aware I need a new waist/wrist, but there are none on AH atm.
Craftables all over the shop with def, and you only need 535 def for heroics. 540 is for raids onry.
Tankspot has some pretty decent pre-raid gear guides for tanks.
Technically only even need 535 for heroic bosses, there's no 82 normal mobs in heroics, so 530 covers trash.
This stuff:
Plate Armor - Items - World of Warcraft
Is a good place to start.
Depending on how you are for gold, titanium ring and neck, and I'm pretty sure that boe crafted gun is still BiS for war tanks.
Yesterday I played in a 3-man party for a while and noticed that it's not that intuitive to be able to fight something and heal at the same time. I play a paladin and my brother plays a mage, whenever he gets a link and I need to heal him I always have to select him before casting Holy Light thus losing my focus on my target. Intuitively I try to click my Holy Light button and then click his portrait, is there anyway to implement this or should I learn a different method of healing in WoW?
Download a mod called clique, lets you cast spells on a target by clicking their portrait. Can bind spells to left or right click, with whatever modifiers you want, shift, crtl, alt, shift+ctrl etc.
Cool thanks, that will help out a lot. Coincidently I remember seeing that tab in my spellbook already after my friend set up his UI on my PC. He installed Jasje UI which looks pretty clean, I only miss my exp bar and bag free space but I can live with that. I hope that Clique thing also works on the raid/party frame in the bottom left corner, means I could easily see everyones HP and heal them accordingly (in case I end up as a healer pld)
They reworked Rake so it doesn't suck anymore so the lack of a burst finisher isn't as big a deal. Between Rake and Rip you can still take stuff down pretty quick.
I'm putting together an uld10 Drake group in hopes of accomplishing it. Iron Dwarf is gunna be annoying, but Firefighter/Freya/1light looks pretty tough. Anyone have some good insight on the drake achv?
just have a OT hold all the guardians and bring them infront of her when she goes into phase 2. you dont have to do all of them in one try, it keeps adding up on itself so you can just wipe directly afterwards and do it again. 2-3 tries should be enough![]()
