i'm about 40% into 77 right now on my war, and i have 4150 gold. my main moneymaker is selling greens i find and mining, should i easily hit my goal of 6k gold by 80? it's my highest character so far.

If you do every single quest in Northrend and don't spend money on stupid shit you'll end up with close to 8-9k on one character. But then of course you gotta start buying enchants/gems to do anything worthwhile afterwards so...yeah up to you.
yeah, the 6k is so i can get my cold weather training and epic flyer...
so i guess that means i'll be behind by the time i'm 80?
Just hit 80 druid (resto) last night, is there any gear that stands out as stuff I should aim for right away? I've been doing BGs and I'm up to about 30k honor now, but I have no idea what to get first or what dungeons are worth doing.
Trial of the Champion Normal and Heroic are both great. Theres a 219 mace from heroic. Also do the headless horseman since that is in season now.
Speaking of HH, what's the minimum level to flag the actual fight in Scarlet Monastary?
I went as 70 Priest with 4 80s and we handled him easy enough, so I don't think they scaled him to 80 this year, but I couldn't take the quest. I completed the pre-req and all that fun, but couldn't flag his actual fight.
75 to flag iirc
And he is level 80, but doesn't hit like one nor have the hp...so yeah I think they just changed his level # >_>
He definitely has more HP than last year (126k now iirc) and his adds have scaled also.
Still pretty easy, I'm confident level 75-79s will have no trouble getting carried through the event even though they can't use any of the gear that drops.
That they can, my lolmage and shammy have some semidecent rings to ding into now :D
Yeah, I solo'd him on my tankadin a few hours ago. He hit me for 3k a pop, but I was still in my PvP gear and never went below 75% health, so it was real easy.
I feel like this is a nub question, but I only have one char and don't know much about the aspects of other class rotations and such:
Do warrior TANKS put up bleeds as part of their rotation? Reason I'm asking is because I think I might at or close to the point to where I can switch to a Rupture-less rotation on rogue, but the issue with that I would need another person to put up bleeds in a raid setting so I can keep HFB up without wasting energy and blowing 1-3 CP for rupture just so I can refresh HFB. That's easily taken care of in a 25man setting, but my 10 man group is Pally+War tank, DK, ret, me (rogue), spriest, warlock, 2priest+shaman heals.
Most will have deep wounds.
Question to those w/ Yogg0 done.
Do you guys still do it?
OMG YOU MIGRATED/NAME CHANGED?! Also, I would assume so since that mount is bad ass, and it should be significantly easier?
Well, its a long way away but I've been doing some gear planning for when my Druid hits 80. Now from my understanding if your crit is above 50% you gem ArP right? Using rawr currently to build out a starting gear set but it seems to be bugged to hell and back because its suggesting 20 Strength Gems over 20 Agility Gems, and it puts 20 ArP gems far under 16 Agi/16 Strength/32 AP gems.
Well isn't 20 STR 40+ AP (since you get +% to stats in your build) for a druid, where 20 AGI is 20ish AP + some crit? This was before the ArP craze but I know my feral druid buddy gemmed STR more often than AGI iirc.
I also wouldn't be surprised if ArP wasn't a good starter stat for a feral druid. A feral druid has a number of bleeds which afaik don't get boosted by ArP (maybe I'm off here, never looked seriously into ArP for bleeds) and starting off they might be a larger portion of damage. ArP is a stat that gets stronger as you have higher AP/crit/etc. so maybe it's not as powerful until a certain amount of AP/crit/etc.
You have to be severely starved on AP for it to recommend Strength over Agility. That or the gem profiles have been fucked with in your copy of Rawr. Any druid who gems Strength in epic gear is fail.
Rawr doesn't play nice with characters sub-80 cause of the innate changes in what gear and base stats you have, I think. As for ArP, gemming for it relies on you being able to first have enough gear that the gems will take you all the way to the effective cap (which also generally requires you to have Grim Toll or Mjolnir Runestone). My gear (WoW Heroes - World of Warcraft PvE character info & ratings) still doesn't recommend ArP gems, so it takes some pretty specialized setups. I'm still popping 4k+ though (higher the less I have to deal with adds).
Edit: I suppose it might recommend Strength gems if you're somehow hitting the crit cap but that seems pretty hard to get beyond the ~60% mark unless you're purposefully stacking for it.
Ignore Str., that's old thinking from BC
Focus on Agi and Crit once hit and expertise are capped(you shouldn't have any problem with hit... I struggle with having too much since every piece of gear seems to have it). Crit is very important as the extra focus points are what you need to really keep your rotation going in proper john fucking madden way. I wouldn't gem ArP until you have at least 250ish from gear alone(not counting Grim Toll or Mjolnir Runestone). It is a stat that works better the more you have of it (think haste in FFXI) so don't gem it till you have enough to make it worthwhile.
About 30-35% of feral damage will be bleeds, the rest comes from direct hits (mostly shred and melee, with some mangle in there depending on raid build and boss). This isn't even counting swipe.
