Random question... I'm helping my friend reinstall WoW onto his comp, but we're having issues with it being annoying and stalling out. Is it possible to copy my patch installs from my own PC onto a disk, and install them onto his that way?

I really don't know wtf the problem here is, and I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall everything again. :<

It's possible but you have to have exactly the right patches, and they just released another omnibus multi-gig patch for the 3.2 content patch, so just having them in the directory isn't enough, you'll have to manually launch and execute each installer one by one. I've done this before but it's seriously a pain in the ass.

Where's it stalling out? At the disk install or at the blizz updater patching?

Use a patch mirror to direct download whatever you need and don't already have, but yeah the individual patchers say what version they go to/from. Just get the right ones up in sequence until you hit current revision and you're golden.

You don't. Keep your agility gems, use the greatness card. Expertise isn't that hugely important for a cat and you already get a free 10 from talents.

All I'm asking is if anyone can come up with a piece of gear or gearset that allows me to trade something like crit or haste for expertise. Having 5% of my shreds get dodged is not fun, if I whiff one at a critical moment the DPS loss is huge. I'm running a rawr sim at the moment to see if I can come up with anything.

It was stalling out at the updater. I managed to get it to work finally by running the repair function. Thanks for the help though, guys. :D

I'm returning to the game after about 2-3 years away. My main is a 58 paladin. Everything is way different now, where would be a good resource to get up to speed on how to play paladin in pve and groups?

I'm sure there are some paladin specific resources here and there but I don't know them well enough to recommend one over another

You don't really need to group at all until 80, aside from maybe 2 instance's quests around 72, that net a ton of xp.

By then, and by 80, you will figure out what to do in groups really fast. Wow Wiki will be a GREAT start, if not the only page you need to visit really. It will tell you a pretty optimal talent spec, and how to fight as ret, it may not be 100% right but it will give you more than enough to level with. By 80, you will have figured it out, if anything you may just need to ask a couple friends and then check zam/ej at that point.

You can't count on groups until level 70+ instances come into play so no worries there, just play your favorite questing spec (aka Ret).

Paladins have changed a shitton over the last 3 years so yeah go read up on it at ZAM or ask more specific questions here. The way seals/judgements/blessings have changed are all at fundamental levels.

Any DKs get the GoDisease rotation to work? The 'rolling diseases"? I tried it, and was getting a fairly signifigant dps loss; i was waiting on runes quite a bit. is there something im missing? (yes i have 4pc t9).

edit: about rogue, any recommendations for rogue UI? having to squint my eyes to see my SnD and Hunger for blood timers sucks ass. I'd like something more obvious. wouldn't hurt if it was an all job thing either; i have to do the same with killing machine and rime procs when im tanking on DK.

Look up the addon PowerAuras, can get graphics of whatever size/transparency/colour you want with or without timers to indicate procs/cooldowns/debuffs/buffs, whatever you want basically.

GoDisease won't be an increase unless you're stacking and rolling your diseases at the height of all your procs (Greatness, FC, Paragon, etc). That being said, you also need to refresh at the right times to prevent disease clipping. I'm not quite sure what you could be doing that would be causing you to wait on runes though, that in itself sounds a little odd.

I've rolled with and without GoDisease rotations, and while in a perfect situation I agree that GoDisease wins most of the time, it has a large margin of error associated with it, and loses you an entire glyph spot on fights where you want to avoid using pestilence (Faction Champs, Algalon, etc).

I don't have the expertise belt/legs so if I get DK t9 body hands legs shoulders and get the emblem head, I'd prolly be sacrificing a lot of expertise which is obviously bad and I would have to gem for it (ew, and I already have a few expertise gems). But according to ensidia, that's the best way to go. I don't really want to waste emblems, but then again I'm not really spending them. Titanium razorplate look really hot though. The World of Warcraft Armory I'm thinking I should just go t9 head hands (I have t9.25 legs/shoulders) and work towards a razorplate plate and say fuck it. Any thoughts?

Another question about twins. Is there a way to know how close to getting the dmg buff you are and to see the timer left on it while you have the buff. does collecting more orbs while under the buff add time or start to create a new stack of it. Does hitting an opposite colour decrease how close to getting the buff you are, sometimes I see a black and white together and am unsure if it's worth getting it assuming taking the dmg isn't a big deal.

Pretty much that exactly. When you pick up a bloodbath girdle and greaves of the Saronite Citadel, junk the T9 head, switch it to the Faceplate of thunderous rampage and switch the razorplate to the T9 body.

Belt of the titans is a great choice, 3 gem slots with a belt buckle makes up for the low str and gives a nice chunk of expertise. I'm rocking the helm, but ony 25's sword has a butt-ton of expertise if you can swing it. Definitely go for the expertise cap before worrying about maxing your output. Taking a small per-swing hit to cap expertise is a small price to pay to have all your hits connect. One missed PS IT or w/e will fuck your whole rotation.

Given his gear at the moment, adding the belt of titans in addition to the T9 helmet would be a waste. 23-28 expertise is fine for a Death Knight. If he gets a Razorplate, he should aim to use the belt slot for the Belt of the Impaler. If he picks up a better expertise piece like the greaves or bloodbath girdle, then he'd need to modify his gear to remove the triumph helm.

Stacking more expertise beyond the changes he's already mentioned is just excessive, especially that Onyxia sword.

I always thought you got the buff when you reach 100 >.>

And as far as the debuff, best I can tell it just stacks completely separately and increases your dmg taken. I don't really have time to look tho, cuz I'm always soaking while trying not to turn my back to the mob I'm tanking lol.

How is DK tanking now? Most warriors I know are really enjoying themselves right now, and I did have fun on druid (before I let my sister have it), so I was wondering after a few nerfs if you guys are still having fun?

I just see so many more dk's dpsing than tanking.
