All of my other characters are Alliance and I hate Blood Elves. I do prefer Undead casting animations though, so i'll probably end up going with them.

Back when I started wow, pressing print screen resulted in it actually taking and saving the screenshot. Now, though, after I've had to reformat my computer once, print screen merely copies the screenshot onto my clipboard, and it's not just my wow window, it's my entire desktop. Halp? How do I get it back to where it just captures my wow window and saves it automatically ;<
Hello thereeee. I've only been playing wow since feb of this year and I just wanted to see if I've been on the right track gearing my death knight properly. I'll post the link below; I realize there's obvious things like the blue gem in my feet, and the fact that if I put a +34 str gem in my shoulders and put a purple in my body I'd get +2 more strength, along with getting the +10 stats body enchant, but I just don't feel like spending all that gold for such a minor upgrade. Anyways, I read on elitist jerks a long time ago that after 6.2k power ArP helps out more then strength, so I've been trying to emphasize a bit on getting in ArP whenever I can. Are my ring and neck choices goofy? I don't have anything level wise better atm, and if I got the triumph emblem ring I'd just be stupidly over hit cap. Just looking for some insight as it whether I'm balancing out my stats properly or if I'm overlooking something. Thanks :D

It's not a minor upgrade at all. Do it.
That information is old as hell and wasn't really even anything beyond shoddy math and speculation. Don't run with that, STR trumps everything for DK because of FC scaling, especially in the wake of the ArPen changes. Get it where you can, but don't stack and gem it beyond that.Anyways, I read on elitist jerks a long time ago that after 6.2k power ArP helps out more then strength, so I've been trying to emphasize a bit on getting in ArP whenever I can.
Your rings and neck are fine. Optimally you want to aim for STR pieces (Heroic Carnivorous Band being a BiS ring), but the ones you have equipped are fine in lieu of other pieces. Are my ring and neck choices goofy? I have a question about how to go about weaponswapping...
For my macro, I'm assuming it would be something like
/equip offhand The Fleshshaper
/cast Mutilate
/equip offhand Titansteel Shanker
but I don't know the exact syntax for the macro, halp?
Also, is it even worth doing the swap? I'd only do this swap for Mut, as it's the only instant that offhand damage is factored in, and it seems like the .2 speed difference would be a nice DPS boost for DPs and melee damage. Am I wrong?
Halp. :<
The best use of weapon swaps is to swap a second fast dagger into your offhand that has instant poison on for the times that your deadly poison stack has a lot of time left and then swap back to your dagger with the DP to reproc your 5 DP stack (swap back to DP dagger with 3~ seconds left to be sure you get it to proc in time) and then swap back to the IP dagger. It wouldn't be worth it for getting a bit bigger mutilates. I don't do this as it's a lot of work to manage and I'm not in a guild where every DPS counts. As far as macros I have only seen ones that swap via the slot in your bag and you just keep your weapons in those exact slots. I don't know what it is but the macro should be findable on some forum.
I think weapon swaps also use up a global CD but I'm not sure, just another reason to have as few as possible if you need to refresh any of your abilities at the same time.
From elitistjerks:
Use at your own peril, having GCDs auto-triggered on you when you're expected to interrupt boss spellcasting is unhealthy. In addition, this is exactly the kind of thing that Blizzard stomps on (i.e. if/then logic that doesn't require user thought) on content patches. I'm sure by that time though Weapon Swapping will either be made irrelevant (e.g. they'll change how DP works in tier 10 gear) or they'll completely disable the /run console command and you'll be forced to swap via a more traditional macro.2 macros:
hit this one when you log on (initialization macro)
/run ws=CreateFrame("FRAME","WS")u=UseEquipmentSet function g()d=nil for i=1,40 do n,_,_,s,_,_,x,c=UnitDebuff("target",i)if n=="Deadly Poison IX" and c=="player" then d=(x-GetTime()>5 and s==5) end end if d then u("IP") else u("DP") end end
this turns weapon swapping on/off
/run if not aso then ws:RegisterEvent("UNIT_COMBAT")ws:SetScript("OnEve nt",g)DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage ("Autoswap On")aso=true else ws:UnregisterEvent("UNIT_COMBAT")DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAM E:AddMessage("Autoswap Off")aso=nil end
you'll need 2 item sets in the blizzard itemrack, one named IP and one named DP
For anyone that can't read the code, here is what it does:
- You target something that is in combat that doesn't have a 5 stack of your deadly poison, it swaps to the DP set
- When you hit 5 stacks of deadly poison, it'll swap to the IP set
- When DP has 5 seconds remaining, it'll swap back to the DP set
- When DP is refreshed, it'll swap back to the IP set
You have to do nothing. The only thing on your end is the annoying GCD's caused by the swaps.
You can and will get banned for using that if caught.
Can you play wow if you install it on a zip drive? I'm trying to figure out the best way to play when I'm not at my own computer without suffering the slow dl speeds/installs on the diff computers.
I'm almost 100% sure I've heard of people playing it off of their iPods a while back which in turn started the "can I play FFXI from a pen drive/mp3 player/etc questions".
Edit: Might be what you're looking for?

As far as questions, what's a Mage's role in BGs?
Sit at the back like artillery? Only other class played was Rogue where I could make skirmishes and shit to piss the opposition off but can't do that on a squishy Mage.
How are arcane mages generally doing their rotation now?
Just straight up 4 stacking?
Damn EJ thread is 100+ pages long and op doesn't get updated anymore ><
AB04AM or something like that
if your mana is holding up well, can keep casting AB at 4 stacks till a MB procs. Best DPS right now is actually casting AB at 4 stacks continuously but mana can't really keep up with that for long. Also if you're moving and cast Arcane Barrage on the move which procs Missile Barrage, casting that MB at 0 stacks then starting AB stack again is better than waiting till 4 stacks to use it since you're very likely to proc another casting AB. MB proc at 1/2/3 stacks though = wait till 4 stacks.
where the fuck is the stream on gotfrag now? I've looked all over the damn site and can't find anything that even mentions it >.>
edit - lol right after I posted site updated with stream on front page
I quit just before that new Trial of the Crusader shit, will I be completely lost if I started a new account and got back up to 80? Or has not much changed (for Warlock specifically mainly, but in general helps too)
nothing has really changed except the addition of free epicz
