Any prot paladins out here can give me any pointers? I read the prot paladin manual on EJ forum and they mention a 6/9/6 rotation. Yesterday was the very first time I got to tank something (toc5 normal) and the first try with a PuG went horrible, when we got to the 2nd fight we had to fight the mage one (w/ the shadow thingy) I still went down pretty hard even with 30k hp and 537 defense. I have a lot of problems keeping my MP up even w/ having merits in the "divine plea refresh on hit" talent and 1 merit in the "get MP on being healed" talent.
Right after that PuG I went and put 2 merits in the "2% reduced cost on insta spells" from the retribution tree and I put another merit in the "get MP on being healed" talent, maxing that out aswell. Then a mate of mine who basicly geared me up over the weekend took his guildmates out and let me tank the same toc5 normal with them and it went so smooth I'm confused at what I did differently (with the talents) had such a huge impact or not.
Right now I just pull with the ranged shield attack move that hits up to 3 targets (I really need to remember the names, seriously). Then I "provoke" the target I have selected since it doesnt affect global cooldown and I start to rotate shield of righteousness (6s) > consecration (9s) > hammer of righteousness (6s) > judgement (9s) > SofR (6s) > sacred shield, i think its called (9s). Using the occasional "provoke" in between to provoke other mobs.
I also have that multi-target provoke that you have to cast on party members but I don't really know how i can use it effectively while tanking since it will screw up my rotation.
This is my armory now.
