I did throw a little gold at it... picked up titansteel destroyer which gets me over hit cap and replaces my BOA axe, now i'm probably ready for HToC so I can get that axe from there.

Gonna have to start some voa's and naxx's so I can control the amount of warriors and keep myself from being kicked, then get carried lols.

Should I be gemming for ArP or STR as a fresh 80? Still in a mixture of blues/greens/purples running 3.3kap and 9% hit

My personal experience, its super easy to gear up running regular toc for 200's and once you have the plate helm, chest, belt, ring and back, go run some h toc, for boots hands shoulders bracers and trinket. Obviously you can only do one heroic toc a day so you can fill in the gaps by doin daily for triumph and random heroics for badges so you can get the 226 gear.

Now I have a question, It seems the better gear I get the lower my dps goes, I know im not perfect and could optimally use some better trinkets. I do my warrior "rotation" as I should, but seems I cant go over 5500-6k dps in toc25. I have to sunder, since Im the only warrior in raid, but other than that I dont have much to do.
The other day I went to a dummy cause I just re-specced to what I have now, I did 4k no buffs easy. Then I tried with just sunders, and it stayed at 4k... anyway any one experienced with warrior dps can lend a ear, see if you can help me out.

my only experience is with DK, which is different of course but close enough i feel i can give you general help as a plate wearing dps. It took a lot, a LOT to bump me up from a few dps marks. 3k took a shitton of upgrades, 4.5k took alot etc etc. You have to really sit and look at things like are you giving up as much as you're gaining in your stats when you upgrade, stuff like that. jumping one ilevel in half your pieces will do very very little to help your dps, it's when you make sweeping changes, like a huge weapon upgrade or armor that skips a few ilevel sets that you really notice changes. the upgrade is there, it's just minuscule and will show less/more depending on the fight you're doing at the time.

Is there a website that posts accurate stats about battlegroups? Browsing the official forums I only came across QQs from both factions .
Only real info I managed to get is from the Archaon log and it clearly shows Alliance is superior, tho is server and not battlegroup related

Only advice I can give you is to stay the hell away from Retaliation.

Your mistake is comparing your improved dps on dummies. You don't have all the raid buffs/target debuffs that make a difference.

Dummy dps can tell you "I can do at least this much" but you should always anticipate it being higher in an actual raid situation.

Another note, it doesn't sound like you're doing this but just to be certain...higher item level does not always mean "better". Some items are just better itemized than others, so don't assume that just because you have a 226 in a slot you HAVE to upgrade to 245 to come out ahead.

Mirror of Truth or Banner of Victory are both better than that Vengeance of the Forsaken trinket, by a long shot. Generally speaking you can replace those orange hit gems with full strength or arpen, though occasionally an orange gem benefits due to the socket bonuses; use Rawr or a similar tool if dps warriors have one to compare. Losing a bit of hit sucks but you get more bang out of the other stats either way.

I've never found it coming out lower.

Equal, maybe, on account of a lack of uptime with stuff like Hodir, but never lower.

Being feral dps I have the benefit of ~12 seconds of my damage ticking whether or not I'm in range or actively doing anything though, so I'm sure that helps.

If worms on nrb submerge with my dots on them, then my DPS plummets. Anything that has me moving away from my main target with my dots up usually ends with me losing dps.

Thus is the true fault of DK DPS, if we get seperated from the target we instantly become the least effective DPS in the raid while having to close the gap.

yeah i jump from dk to rogue fairly often, i gotta say it hurts rogue so much more than dk. there's literally jack shit a rogue can do if separated, and losing that time away can tremendously fuck your rotation. at least on dk i can still contribute with IT and DC.

So my warrior is getting better geared dps wise, hit capped 3200ap no buffs, getting in some voa's and stuff now but occasionally removed from groups.

My prot set im working on is like 491defense ungemmed and unenchanted, think I can push like 515-520 if I push it... I'm wondering if going prot would be a better strategy as far as gearing my warrior out, as arms in prot set Im about 22k hp, so I'll prob be above the 25k mark and able to tank heroics soon... I'm sitting on enough badges to buy stuff, would it be better to buy prot things, in the hopes that tanking will get me more groups and then gear out both sets that way, or should I just spend it on arms gear since it's already pretty decent?

which do you enjoy more? it's fairly rough to get people to let you lot for gear for a spec you're not using at the time, in my experience.

I haven't tried warrior as prot yet, but tanked 10/25uld on feral druid and liked it alot. With such a shortage of tanks it seems, it shouldn't be too hard to get loot for both, there are always ways.

But I do not know which I enjoy more yet, the point is for now to gear out the character by whatever means necessary, if I don't enjoy it I dont care. Whatever can replace my greens the fastest.

If you have the time and patience go prot. You can get groups damn near instantly and farm every single heroic for emblems each day. If 3.3 is actually going to hit in a couple weeks and you have a prot set for it you can then farm heroics to get full t9 for either (or both) of your sets.

It depends though. If your end goal is to be dps and you don't have FFXI-like patience and work ethic it might be best to just stick to dpsing. If you don't know which you want to be and you're trying to decide, go prot and be willing to tank or dps for groups, you'll mostly just tank but you'll get the option to dps occasionally, but you'll have access to far more as a tank than a run of the mill dps.
