Well, in WoW all your time is spent actually doing things. In FFXI all your time is spenting staring at the screen. So it depends on if you have 'active' patience. I hated farming in FFXI (at least by the time I got my Mandau I did) and that translates closely to grinding heroics and such in WoW so I can only do that in short spurts.

Well after looking for tanks all day, I'll just work on tanking gear as a priority. My sister is a geared healing priest so finding dps for any heroic should be easy.

problem is that currently I'm running 23k hp with def cap, gonna need to figure some shit out fast lol.

Flasking and food go a long way there, as does getting whatever cheap enchants you can (stuff like the wintergrasp enchants is pro since it gives you a chunk of stamina).

You don't need a ton of hp to tank heroics.

^ I've had a paladin in all blues with 26k HP tank ToC-H damn near flawlessly. If you know what you're doing, and your healer isn't retarded, you'll be alright as long as you don't get hit for 23001.

I'm starting a new Priest, and im unsure if JC/Mining or tailoring/enchant would be the best way to go, preferably i'd like to have JC/Enchant but i dont think i would have the patience/funds to level both. recomendations?

Tailoring/JC is best (in my opinion).

Mining and another gatherer until you have about 2000 gold to level JC to whatever level starts outland cuts (it's fairly cheap after that, but a tremendous loss before that). Then drop the second gatherer for JC. Once you hit 80 with sufficient gold to level enchanting (which is a fucking assload by the way), then JC+Enchant. You may not even need to wait till you have 'sufficient' gold, since you can profit quite well with prospecting/epic cuts without using mining at all. Just wait until you have about 10 titansteel bars to sell before you drop mining, it's a nice chunk of change that's always in demand it seems.

This is exactly what I did on my first character and I've never been anywhere approaching poor, although I'm JC+Alch, not Enchant, because Alch is really nice for gold at 450 and I don't feel like levelling enchanting when my girlfriend already has it maxed on her alt. Whenever I play, most of my time is devoted to instances and stuff, with about 10% of my time devoted to reinvesting my gold into Alch and JC to turn a larger profit margin. I might spend 45mins/day on crafting, but 2.5 months into my account, my average gold earned per day is 900~, which is more than sufficient for me.

I did Mining/Skinning until I hit 80 and had near 10k by the time I got to 80 (Cold Weather flying, no epic), then dropped Skinning for Tailoring.

Almost wish I didn't since Saronite ores prices have bombed this week and sell for near NPC price on my server and making Bars is a loss.
That and all the Titanium Nodes I seem to come across are surrounded by 80 Elites in IC, but your server may be better.

If you're a class that doesn't need First Aid that much (Healers, Squishy 1-shottable Mages etc) you can store all the cloth you pick up on a mule and then burn Tailoring to 350+ in little over a day like I did with minimal need to farm.

That said from 420 or so on you're going to need a fuckload of Infinite Dust. I levelled Enchanting on a mule to DE the shit I used to skillup Tailoring so I could get the dust from that and it was a pain in the arse since I had to go back and re-farm a ton of shit to get Enchanting up.

My other priest i leveled tailoring/enchanting and was fairly inexpensive, i just DE'd what i didnt use for mats, however im not sure that the back enchant will be more of an improvement over dragons eye gems which is why i wanted to go the JC route, i know pre 300 its total shit to level and 300-350 will probably be just as bad. ill give it a little more thought, besides i can always make money selling darkmoon cards on my dk.

Lightweave Embroidery is BIS profession for caster dpsers and Darkglow is fairly nice for Holy.

I find it comical that we can say "FFXI-patience" and regular "patience" and everyone here understands the difference as though they're totally different words. The scary thing is that it actually makes sense.

FFXI patience: Nuke statues for 3 hours. If you die, everyone dies, no pressure. But no thanks either. Oh, and definitely no drops, lol!

WoW patience: Shit, we wiped twice on ToC10 Anub, I'm bored. Let's pack it up guys, we'll try again tomorrow. And by tomorrow, I mean next week. When the lockouts reset.

You should be able to hit 25k with poor men enchants and gems using the AH mostly. Actually, just run normal ToC 4-5 times until you get Black heart and you will have more than you need for heroic, much cheaper too.

Unless everyone in the party is incredibly gimped, winning ToC isnt really a problem with 20k hp, and you can do the Heroic one with 25k hp.

So my dps set is awesome already, only 1 non epic piece, pretty much every instance I run has dropped something I needed... just missing edge of ruin but using marrowstrike in the meantime.

Now onto my tanking set... This is what I have so far just collecting pieces on the side: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...+Blade&n=Exuro

I think my spec is ok, I'm over heroic defense cap, infact I'm at 540, 25k hp, enough for heroics. I think I know the rotation that I want to use, but would love some additional info from you guys about that. I haven't tried it yet, only tanked on my druid in wotlk, and tanked as a pally in tbc, so rotational tips or comparisons would be great.

There is a lot of fucking buttons, trying to figure out where to put them all and keybind them all, gonna have to make use of my G13... I saw a nice list of someones abilities on tankspot for it but I'll have to find it again.

So far I've been spending all badges on DPS pieces, since my dps gear is so good already, but with such a huge shortage of tanks I'm going to need to get good at this quickly to make badge collecting even faster.

Newest shittiest behaviour on Kilrogg is to disband on the first Emalon wipe AFTER you killed Koralon. Since c00l kids doesnt care of t8 or badges they just leave once their t9 didnt drop.

We have the same thing on arathor. Most annoying thing is that since I only run those on alts I still have a use for t8, and to a small extent t7 since mage drops are a lie.
