How are you using a green weapon? There's a blue weapon from a level 74 Zul'drak quest (to kill Razormane) that is pretty much good until you get the Red Sword of Courage or better.

Know where your taunts are and keep them in easy to press places. Get a unit frames addon that lets you know when someone else has aggro. My X-perl does this and so when I notice a mob attacking someone else I use clique to Righteous Defense that person and I get all the mobs off of them.

It's not THAT important to be defense capped for heroics. Sure, it's useful, but if you can get 500 health while going to 534 defense the health is more important. If you're at 534 defense there's a 0.04% chance the level 82 mobs can crit you, the chances of that are VERY slim.

It shouldn't be that tough to get some good gear though, hard to get a full kit yeah but you should have instant queues and just full t9 can make you geared enough to most instances. Might be best to avoid H HoR though XD

Really having trouble tanking some things as my really undergeared prot paladin. I realize what my rotation should be, but I just find myself losing a mob or two in groups of trash, and I feel like I'm just generally doing a really shitty job of tanking overall. I'm at like 3.5k gearscore atm, and I'm using some shitty green sword just to keep def cap, so right from the start people are like LOL AT THIS TANK'S GEAR and the first time I fuck up, 3 people leave. I don't really know how to get better other than just spamming LFG heroics ;\ I've done every one of them 20x on my rogue and I feel more confident tanking bosses on rogue than this paladin ;\ Halp ; - ;

spam lfg normals for a day?

If there is a pack with 4 or more mobs just pull with a taunt on one, hit the others with a avengers shield, then lay down a consecration now i use hammer of r to do the aoe dmg and ofc alot of threart, this is a good time to tab around and use the shield of r to get some threat on anything that may start to look away, there isnt much instances where you will be tanking a whole lot of trash like that before raids anyway, and then you more than likely have another tank with you.

My druid is about to hit 68 and is an alchemist, what spec? I see a lot of people asking for transmutes, but I remember that was a kinda lame spec back in BC, is it good now?

I did transmute because it's the biggest profit margin per proc. Now that you can transmute titanium off the cooldown you can get a little more oomph out of it rather than once a day too.

Use your off-spec? I'm Shadow, but while trying to spam regular ToC for an Abyssal Rune (never dropped, but my H Pit of Saron group got me a Nevermelting Ice Crystal, so hurray), I swapped over to Discipline to improve my queue times and because, frankly, the tanks queuing for regular instances are usually not very good. Sometimes, like in your case, it's not because they suck but because they haven't geared yet. Either way, if you can put together a half-ass Ret spec or a tolerable Holy spec, you can farm some badges and gear for your Prot spec.

Dunno what it's like on other battlegroups, but I rarely see anyone grabbing plate armor, so it probably wouldn't take long. On the other hand, Warriors and Death Knights and Paladins are a dime a fucking dozen (less true of Warriors), so you'd likely end up in the group where everyone rolls Need on it. x.x

The random group generator attempts to only have 2 of any armor class, so you're likely to only have groups with 2 plates or 2 clothies and 1 of each if there are a large number of people in the queue.

And just running as a tank and attempting to learn while it may hurt his pride/confidence he'll get groups a lot faster as a tank, just avoid the new heroics and probably ToC as well, it doesn't take a lot to do the other stuff and you should be able to gear so fast with them...

How do you cap your hit rating on prot paladin with badge/heroics gears? There is not a single bit of hit rating on the new stuff.

Well, I know I wont get the hit rating with that, I'm just wondering if there is any easy to get hit rating gears somewhere that I'm missing.

What's the top-end on mutilate DPS? Raid-buffed on Anub (10N) I'm at 5.4k and I'm just curious how much higher I either should or can get. I was 1st on recount, but my server is pretty shit so that doesn't really mean much to me.

Anub is a goofy fight in general. Your DPS can plummet when he burrows because you switch to those little bugs and it can kinda drop your dps. But at the end of the fight, 5.4k is pretty good assuming you have appropriate buffs.
