kinda odd question:

I'm guildless now, and just kind of playing to kill boredom. I'm decked in 4pc t9, keen obsidian blade etc. Do you guys think it would be worth it to gear up in the new content, or just spend my time farming for more gold, and worry about gearing in cata? Do you guys think cata heroics will make current gear obsolete? I'm looking at very low playtime so i'm trying to decide what the best use of my time is.

How trustworthy is Landsoul's spreadsheet.

I have a hard time believing that going from a 232 t9piece, that gives me a shitty 4pc bonus, would grant me more dps than the 264 t10 piece. The 4pc is shitty, how could it be worth more than that big of a jump.

Rawr says that breaking the 4pc for the 264 would give me +30-40dps, landsoul says the opposite. I really can't stand not being able to break 4pc sets until I have at least 2pc of the next tier. I hate rawr. Why tease me.

I would be surprised if T9 gear couldn't carry you to level 85, but it's hard to predict what Blizzard will necessarily do. They have some rather ambitious ideas.

Really, though, why not try some of the new content just for the fun of doing it? I've been collecting gear from Icecrown Citadel while unguilded but, really, I'm just going for the fun of the fights and to see the content. Obviously I have no idea what your server is like, but it's possible to get moderately competent PUGs on mine, at least insofar as 10-man normal mode is concerned. Collecting gold is really only going to allow you to be smug for a week before everyone else catches up (I'm exaggerating on the timeframe, obviously), but it never hurts to have a little tucked away for a rainy day.

My server doesn't pug Ulduar, but we pug ToC and ICC

And even before ICC you pretty much only saw ToC pugs, not Ulduar. Ulduar is far too srs for pugs.

If you are talking about Fury, H Strike should be the highest % of damage of any ability(by a reasonable margin, moreso at higher gear levels), unless you are crit capped 5% crit rate for it is pretty nice.. especially with the H strike glyph(mandatory for fury). Bloodsurge slam crit rate bonus is nice too.

Landsouls spreadsheet is generally > Rawr, there are a few things Rawr is useful for.

I've been leveling mage for a while now as a frost spec. I'm at level 67 now so pretty close to Northrend and was wondering when it would be a good time to change my frost spec into the cookiecutter arcane spec. Most of the time I level in a duo with a prot warrior and we either quest or run instances but it could occasionally happen that I'll be soloing. So far in my frost spec all I've been doing is nova/bliz or bolts popping cooldowns where necessary.

If you're with your warrior and AOEing, stay frost. If it's mostly single target stuff, change to arcane now, arcane is shit until 64 and is awesome from then on out.

I bought an authenticator over the christmas period after being hacked, but it still hasn't arrived, I'm aware that christmas probably isnt the best time to order stuff (ordered on the 23rd) Just wondered if anyone else had to wait a long time to get their authenticator when buying, i know they said their shipping started again on the 7th, but haven't heard anything other then the "shipped" on my battle.net account.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, ordered on the 31st and it still hasn't arrived and there's no tracking number where there should be.

I didn't get a tracking number with mine.

Presumably because it appeared to be sent by a media mail or equivalent, which has no tracking.

Don't remember offhand how long it took to arrive, two weeks maybe?

As far as weapon enchantments go what's the best tanking enchantment? I've heard Mongoose is pretty good but I want to make sure that I'm not getting outdated info before I go buy it off of the AH.

I use accuracy. If you are hit-capped Mongoose/exceptional agility/blade ward/blood draining are all viable enchants. It's pretty much the one place where people won't bitch and complain about what choice you make because none of them far outclass the others.

If I was hit capped I'd probably switch to not-mongoose, don't like the proc. I'm thinking I'd do exceptional agility, I like static increases as a tank.

Start at the Argent Vanguard in the extreme southeast of the zone.
