I wouldn't keep HoT's on everyone in a 5-man unless it's a certain encounter with heavy party damage, like say phase 3 Black Knight. Just heal people as they take damage, based on what's going on. If it's a stray AOE that hit them, wild growth can do it. If it's a frostbolt or something, rejuv can take care of it. In 5-mans most of the time there's no rush, don't use all your mana just to make your HoT's overhealing.

Grid and Clique won't really be THAT useful until you get to WotLK and above when you don't have the time to change your target before you heal. But it safely takes a step out of a heal so you want to get used to it asap.

Pre-heroics you can work on "reactive healing" which basically means you heal as someone takes the damage and judging accordingly. For heroics (with a not-overgeared tank at least) and raids it's a different ballgame. I have yet to raid heal as a druid so I'm not sure exactly how you do it but most likely you'd keep regrowth/rejuv/lifebloom on tanks and throw out heals in your spare time on the other members.

Sorry should of clarified, by just started i meant just got to 80 and started Heroics lol, but yeah i think you are right about not trying to waste too much mana, even though innervate sorts that out pretty much.

Since so far I haven't really been in trouble much in ICC outside enrage wipes (or co-tank dying), I'm thinking the order to look for upgrades through badges would be something like (got ~125 frosts):

    Code:
    [251] t10 head (95 frost)
    [251] t10 shoulders (60 frost)
    [264] frost belt (60 frost)
    [264] frost trinket (60 frost) [+stam, -dodge]
    [264] frost gloves (60 frost)
    [264] frost chest (95 frost)
Aside from the putrice trinket, I think all of this should be attainable over time. Maybe if I get lucky on a togc10 pug if these even happen on my server, I'll have to ask our guilds resident pugaholics.
Unless threat is an issue for you, the order should be:

    Belt
    Gloves
    Chest
    Shoulders
    Head

And then trinket if you really think you want it after all that.

The badge trinket is really sub-par tho, the clicky is a complete joke.

You can basically consider it like... an i226 version of brewfest.

edit: also if you're doing togc10, pick up the sword from anub

and I'm not sure if your listing says you already have the 264 badge cloak actually? If no you should put it right up there with belt in priority

The Filter button at the top of the gear list in the right pane lets you select and deselect various categorized criteria. New gear isn't always reliably categorized though so you have to use your head in some cases (my druid's Rawr getup sees a pair of 277 gloves even when I deselect all heroic modes).

I'm not sure you'll be able to drop off *just* primordial saronite gear, but you can exclude 25 and heroic mode items.

Bear in mind though that Rawr's item lists change as your gear changes. What's at the top of the list when you first look at it may not be there once you start equipping some of that BIS (though if you play with it enough and keep equipping the top items, eventually you're liable to reach equilibrium).

If I were to buy Wraith of the Leech King, do I have to buy the original game and other expansions as well? Or is there like a collection similar to FFXI where it comes with all expansions and such? Checked bestbuy... if I have to buy all CDs, thats close to 100 bucks.

You have to have all parts, but blizzard sells a battle chest that has the original+burning crusade for $40, then wrath is another $40. This is blizzard prices, you could probably do better if you shop around.

I managed to snag WoW/TBC/WotlK for 40$ I would advise looking for some websites that sell CD Keys and save yourself some 50-60 dollars. : p

Is there a better way of targeting? When I'm trying to multi-DoT or, more importantly, trying to choose only specific targets (e.g., Fanatics but not Adherents at Lady Deathwhisper), Tab is inefficient and trying to click individual units is like playing Operation during an earthquake.

Do the free trial and extend it to a full account. Not sure exactly how that works out money-wise, but it does give you the entire game online.

Unless you really want to buy all the cd's...

    Rofl.

That's how I felt about tanking a few months ago when it involved multiple mobs who did not want to cooperate (aka: cast spell instead of nicely following). I still have some issue at time, but I can say that I got much much better at picking my target with tab and mouse over time. If you're starting, there is a good chance you will improve a lot, even if it's a pain at first.

But if there is a better method, I would also be interested as well. Finding my target (when there is a lot going on like faction champion), and targeting it are probably my biggest issue with WoW interface. FFXI was doing a much better job at this imo, and WoW feel like a step down.

Yeah, I'll say tab targetting is clearly better in FFXI than WoW. One of the very few gameplay aspects FFXI wins out on. Few games pull it off well but I could tab target exceptionally well in FFXI and no other game seems to work out so nicely.

The battlechest with the original and TBC + the little mini guide tends to go on sale a lot for $19.99 too, that's how I picked up my copy, and then just bought WotLK by itself. Like Rivero said though, just looking for CD keys is usually the least expensive method, but it's also a little bit of risky business. If you're going to buy just keys, make sure you buy them from somewhere reputable.

In WoW defense, FFXI is much slower and rarely involve as many target, but damn...I still miss my "auto lock" to find my target, and the "model flashing + arrow" own the tiny red circle that is often lost under ground effect.

I'm pretty sure you can buy the keys through Blizzard itself...if that's what they're looking for, check that first for sure.

Turn on enemy nameplates and get a custom set that have a bigger footprint than the defaults. Nameplates make click targeting vastly easier, and are a huge help for tanking to identify potential threat problems before they happen and cause a clothie to get flattened.

I'm not sure how slash-command logic works for targeting, but if it's by proximity then you could easily just use /tar Cult Adherent (or whatever, name is fuzzy) and be on the side of the room you intend to be looking for it in to find what you need.

Well, for ICC25, since I'm a caster, I stand to the left of Deathwhisper. I think that's the right of the room. I have a truly godawful sense of direction and honestly cannot keep left and right straight. I've been playing FFXI for, what, 7 years now? And I still think Kazham is in the south.

Aaaaaanyhow, since I'm over on whatever side I'm on, there's a minimum of 2 Fanatics (melee immune, gotta be nuked) and sometimes 3 if one spawns up on the stairs. Throwing my DoTs onto an Adherent (magic immune) is a waste of GCDs and mana. If anything, I'd need a targeting macro that was able to exclude, but that's only for that specific encounter. If I'm doing something like, uh... well, most of the trash pulls in any Heroic, the ones with only 3-4 mobs where Mind Sear simply isn't efficient, then Tab will frequently have me cycle between two mobs and make me want to pull my hair out. I'm also worried about missing targets as a Tab-Devastate if/when I tank as Warrior. Maybe I should just get a Glyph of Sunder Armor and rely on that?

I'll give the nameplate thing a try. Any idea what I could use to buff their size?

I've been chasing rares lately for Bloody Rare and Frostbitten (will probably never complete these, but I always enjoyed NM hunting in FFXI) and have to say that the targeting circle is a source of unending rage for me. Pity I play Priest as my main, 'cause that'd be awesome on my Warrior (ba-dum-tish). I'd kill for an over-the-head targeting system, heaven knows it helps in regards to raid icons and Hunter's Mark... which is probably why they don't have a target marker up there. :-\

If you search 'tidy plates' you can also get some stuff to modify it further as you like. I'm partial to Clean Plates- http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...an-plates.aspx

I know you didn't ask for it but download the _npc scan addon if you are hunting for them. It will start an alarm whenever you're close, and you won't miss it.

With that, use questhelper achievement tracker to get the exact location of every NM.

It made Bloody Rare much faster for me.

    [edit]
If you can, fly around the place at 3-5am, it's common to get 2-3 rare pop back to back.

Yeah, I have that addon, Kaylia. Thanks, though.
