oh and mark of supremacy is likely an upgrade over your DMC:G. Hit got a lot better with the poison changes so white hits missing is more of a dps loss than before.

o, well I have pyrite infuser and mark of supremacy, but I pretty much never used mark and just used infuser. Then I got t9.25 legs and even with no hit trinkets I was at like 450+ hit, should I use both hit trinkets then? Puts me at like 650ish hit
You want 315 hit. a bit over doesn't matter too much but don't go below it.
if you have as much hit as you say you do (and I don't doubt it, there's way too much hit gear for rogues) just drop some precision talents and see if you can't benefit from them elsewhere, until you can get rid of some of the gear with hit.
Here's a random question (and laugh away... I honestly don't care):
Is there away to avoid vile gas on festergut?
the 'fail' add'on (whatever it's called) will say I've failed at vile gas, when no one was within range... he just gave it to me.
starting back i'm geared for naxx 25, should i roll aff?
Has anyone else encountered something like this? I was PvPing all day on my disc priest, but towards the end of the night, something FUCKING ANNOYING AS CUNT happened.
Went to do WSG, and every time this one rogue sapped me, my game froze and I was disconnected from the server. Instantly. It didn't happen when any other rogue did it but him. Naturally, I would log back on dead and raging because I lost the flag.
Then after I got out of WSG, my arena partner and I were world PvPing in Honor Hold. A bad hunter comes up and Black Arrows me or whatever. Guess what? Instant game freeze and disconnected from server! Log back on dead. (Then he was cute and thought he could 1v1 me the rest of the night because I died initially due to disconnection. How wrong he was.)
It never happened in the middle of combat, only RIGHT when their first ability landed, seemingly only Sap and Black Arrow. I thought maybe a corrupt game file, but I had been PvPing all day and fought many rogues/hunters. It only happened with these two. Was this some kind of exploit? I know force d/cing someone was possible in FFXI, but I doubt it is in WoW.
yeah... that's why i was asking like it may be the dumbest question ever.
I have ranged on. I never get hit by anyone else, and I never hit anyone else, yet it stills says I failed at Vile Gas.
I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a way to avoid it if you're the one he targets.
hit and crit don't function like that
you either hit or you crit, not you hit and then have a chance to crit
crits don't miss, ever, to put it simply
You're not seeing it properly, taken from Rogue thread on EJ
Crit Cap = 100% - 24% glancing blows - X% dodge chance - X% miss chance
if your crit chance > hit chance - 24%, you're wasting crit, so adding more white hits adds more white crits as well
But yeah, the whole more poison procs deal helps bump up the value of white hits
got a link to where this is shown?
because that would imply that the attack table has changed, which as far as I know it has not-- and crit is above everything else except glancing on the table
would also imply a direct mechanic change, which again I've seen nothing of
Crit doesn't function as "ok 24% chance to glance, that means 76% chance to land. So if you have 20% crit chance, you get .2 * .76 chance to crit."
The way it functions would actually read out as "Ok 24% chance to glance means 76% chance of landing. 20% crit leaves 56% chance to 'hit' without critting."
And then any hit you're lacking would be taken out of that 56%. So if you were missing 56% hit, you'd have 24% glancing blows, 20% crit, and 56% miss.
If this has changed... well, I'd be downright shocked.
Again, you're looking at it wrong, we're saying the same thing, but you're missing my point
if you have a listed 76% crit chance, counting raid buffs, but you only have a 72% chance to hit (after glancing blows), increasing hit will increase crits
Edit: No that's wrong, I know what I mean but I don't think that puts it clearly enough...
No, the attack table has not changed, but an attack that will miss can't be a crit, so if you increase your white hits, then any crits that should exist will pop up, with the result of white hit chance increasing crit rate
Edit2: When I get home from work in 8 hours I can type up a better explanation, but there's no link on the thread, but the entire listing is:
Critical Strike Cap
Crit Cap = 100% - 24% glancing blows - X% dodge chance - X% miss chance
where X% dodge chance is determined by expertise rating and X% miss chance is determined by hit rating.
Note: 4.8% of critical strikes are converted to normal hits after the above cap.
Uh, where are all the shields? Specifically tanking ones. I've found a 219 in HoR and I'm presently using the Royal Crest of Lordaeron from H CoS, but it seems like there aren't many shields to speak of. Where should I focus to get this upgraded? I'd really like to avoid HoR, that instance is a serious nuisance.
What he's saying is the less you miss, the more you can both hit and crit.
Adding hit pushes misses off the table.
Adding crit pushes non crit hits off the table, but not misses.
Your crit% will never be > your hit so you must add hit for it to be pushed off by your crit%
That's all that's being said.
Wow, nice itemization, Blizz. Sheesh.
