so i have a level 53 Warlock that i've been leveling recently, What is a good spec to level with?

I've been Affliction for a while now and it seems to be pretty good for leveling, but the guide i was using says to switch to demonology at 50.The guide is kind of old so I wasn't sure if i should switch.

So what is the best leveling spec after 50? Also what is a good raiding spec (for when i get there)

afflic gets really good at 60 or something iirc. but I doubt you'd have trouble leveling should you want to go demo lol. raiding, I see afflic and demo as main and offspec almost all the time. never seen a destro lock in pve come to think of it...

Out of the 3 wings in ICC (Blood/Frost/Plague) which is the easiest in general? I'm thinking Valithia looks pretty easy and Sindragosa isn't too bad. I heard Putricide/Lathaniel give the most problems. Any suggestions on which wing to start with?

plague wing is the easiest, honestly. followed by blood and then frost. it's difficulty scaling exactly how blizzard opened up gates.

in terms of the actual encounters.. i'd say it goes like this:

    festergut > valithria > rotface > princes > putricide > bql > sindragosa

Hmm. Thanks for the input. Going to see if we can try out Valithira tonight, she drops a sweet 2h mace. : o

Affliction becomes god for leveling once you get Haunt, it plus glyphed Siphon Life = pwn, Felguard was nice for leveling but it doesn't compare to Affliction

As for Raiding, any 3 of the specs work, Affliction and Demo as mentioned above seem to be more popular, but Destruction works just fine

I have been leveling my lock as Destro, and actually hasn't been that bad. I tried Affliction, but didn't like it too much :-/ But really comes down to which spec you like... But most fast I have seen is Affliction.

Why the hell can't my guild down Festergut 10? We went in today with

    Holydin
    Tree x2
    Prot Warrior x2
    3 Ranged DPS
    2 Melee DPS

Warrior #1 has 43k post-buffs, Warrior #2 has 41k. War2 tanks to 9 stacks at which point War1 takes over and all healing is focused on new tank but he fucking drops instantly, around the 2 minute mark and before the first exhale. We have NO problems with spores or anything, but why are our tanks getting faceplanted every goddamn time? Even with the Holydin absorbing 50% raid damage and then using LoH's damage mitigation AND the second warrior using all of his CDs, we don't make it to the exhale before he falls over. We've tried swapping a tree out with a disc priest, same exact result.

Help. I'd really like to get past this shit.

That sounds like really undergeared tanks. I had over 40k unbuffed before ICC was released, around 50k raid buffed.

Yeah, have to second that, your second tank (and your first) sound way undergeared if they're only hitting 41-43k Health with raid buffs. My rather uninspiring Warrior (see sig) hits the same in Heroics with something like Fortitude and Commanding Shout up.

Additionally, Warrior is at a bit of a disadvantage compared to other tanks for massive incoming damage like Festergut brings. It's not a huge disadvantage, but it definitely shows up when a tank isn't sufficiently geared.

I'd hardly consider them really undergeared?

    Tank 1
    Tank 2

afaik neither of them have brewfest trinkets, but is it worth them using dual lesser stam-trinkets? Tank 2 is missing some enchants and gems could be better, but overall, this isn't good enough to tank (or OT) festergut?

I'm seeing lots of "Not Stamina" gems.

    Edit:
Well, not lots, but a few. I'm trying to figure out how they clearly have a higher iLevel than my Warrior but identical Health.

Tank one has a terrible meta gem and is using some gems with no +stam whatsoever, which is wrong.

Tank two has no enchants in a few places.

Both tanks could easily re-gem and re-enchant for a gain of at least 1k health, possibly 2k health. Both should get a stamina trinket of some sort, even if it's just Black Heart from normal ToC5. Both of those things together will get them 3-4k hp, that's fairly significant.

And I'd disagree that Festergut is a bad fight for warriors, warriors are probably the best tank for the fight. Shield wall for 60% reduced damage for 12s, then Last stand for 20s with Shield Block in there for effectively 20-30% reduced damage for 10s.

Divine protection every 1min30 and ardent defender every 2 minutes is pretty much the same. Maybe warrior are better, but I must be missing something.

Not so much of an argument, but in our last fight, the warrior tank died after taking back the threat (he started, I was 2nd, and he died right after). I popped bubble to wipe my stack asap, clicked it off and took it back. We ended up winning but bubble can save the day!

And while we are at it, can anyone tell me how to make this macro:

    /cast Divine Shield
    /cancel divine shield
    /hand of reckoning.

Hands of reckoning has no cooldown, so I would like a macro that use all 3 at the same time to wipe the debuff and reclaim threat immediatly after.

You're probably right, I'm a long way from an expert on Warrior. It just seems that when I see a tank struggling with Festergut, they're generally a Warrior.

No, actually, it's very very different. You need to have a good 20-30s of damage reduction or increased EH to survive well. You have 12s and a one-hit cooldown listed, that hardly covers the fight. Paladin is actually the weakest for Festergut because they do not have a long chain of cooldowns to use. Ardent Defender is our replacement for no 2nd cooldown, but in a fight that stresses cooldowns over a fairly long period of time it is surely a lot weaker than its counterparts.

You can try just doing the three commands in order like you listed, but I don't know if it'll work for sure.

    /cast Divine Shield
    /cancelaura Divine Shield
    /cast Hand of Reckoning

If DS throws the global cooldown you may error out on the hand.

DS trgger the global cooldown, but hands doesnt seem to be affect by it at all. I was mostly worried about the taunt being done before the "threat loss" effect is triggered.

I guess I could add a short delay (if its possible).

I'd say take them through some more toc25 first before throwing them into icc. Tank 2 also is missing sockets from his BSing -_-

My prot gear (all from pugging so i takes what i gets).
