You'd be way better served to get a random fast green offhand sword with a decent enchant.

I was thinking of getting http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25823 and throwing Mongoose on it or something. I'd gain 4 hit rating, lose 12 AP, lose 8 AGI, and lose 5.9 DPS, its also slower then the daggers. Not really sure about it.
1.9's not fast enough
you really want a 1.5 sword/axe, but a 1.3 dagger is livable
So I need to farm for Pillars of Might, and I've never had to farm gold for anything in WoW... ever. Gold always just flowed to me from quests (I like quests!) or from selling random crap. So... what's the best way from you max-golders? Should I just farm honor and sell gems since I'm a JC? That seems like the easiest way, but I honestly don't know how else to farm gold other than doing quests since I've simply never had to.

I'm almost at 95 badges but I'm torn on what to buy. I'm tempted to get T10 chest, but the Cataclysmic Chestguard has more EH and I'd like to match it with the Pillars since it's BIS. Then I'd go for Kraken for hands and T10 shoulders as my last frost upgrade. Unfortunately that leaves me no way to get my T10 set bonus.
T10 bonus is sexy as everyone likes big numbers. But the rational side of me says I never have threat problems outside of extreme situations, so I should bite the bullet and pass up almost all my T10 gear since my guild sucks and I likely won't have access to tokens ever. Thoughts?
You're a paladin tank with gear, 5-mans will love you. You'll do better farming heroics. I was getting 100-200g a day doing my 6x heroic dailies on my alts for a while and that's not including the enchanting mats sitting on my characters or the emblems of triumph I use to get gems for my characters.
About EoF rewards, it's kinda personal preference. I'm sure Plow will come telling you you're an idiot for considering anything but the EH winner that is Cataclysmic Chestgard, but I'm really not a fan of the rest of the stats on that chest. Def is subpar avoidance and expertise is really easy to soft cap for a paladin (in fact with that chest as your ONLY piece of expertise talents + glyph soft cap expertise already). So I like t10 and I now have it upgraded to 264. But I'm the kind of person that understands that there are more stats to a tank than EH since tank death is rarely the cause of a wipe, at least in my world of raidcraft.
How do you not have access to tokens at all though? Can your guild not down Saurfang even? If so, you should consider that transfer, because pugs on Cho'gall clear 6-7/12 regularly and that's true for a bunch of other realms. Or is your guild a bitch about who gets tokens and you're last in line? If so, transfer off too, lol. Unless you have good friends in that guild I recommend finding a place with reasonable people you enjoy playing with, that effects how much you enjoy an MMO more than anything else imo.
Well, I'm looking to earn more than 100-200g a day considering the cost of Pillars on my server is around 13-14k. So running heroics or doing quests isn't exactly going to cut it if i want to upgrade before Cataclysm lol. That's why I think cutting epic gems might work since honor seems easy enough to farm up.
EDIT: I didnt even know you can get gems from emblems.... lol. Whoops!
And yeah, if I get the Cat chest I'm going to be swimming in Expertise since I already have 22 before the glyph cuz of the T10 pants. Cat chest pairs great with the Pillars though, since the Pillars have no defense or expertise and the Cat chest has an asston of both. Which is my dilemma in a nutshell, get T10 chest which is the better choice with my current gearset, or get Cat chest in anticipation of me picking up Pillars at some point.
My guild can down Saurfang25, but we have such shitty attendance that we always have to pug half the god damn raid. So I'm not counting on winning a roll. And yeah, we've only cleared to Festergut once in 25 and it went terrible, moving when you get a spore is 2tuff2lrn or some shit.
Give me the website to your guild and let me app lol![]()
You didn't know you could get epic gems from emblems? <_<;;;;;
I dunno how I missed it. Guess I never look at the heroism vendor anymore >_>
100-200g a day was only 6 runs, not including gems (6 heroics gets you 2-3 epic gems) or selling enchanting mats or vendoring blues. Meaning that you can probably make 300-500 in an hour or two no problem. As a tank with instant queues that can set the pace it should be easy to clear 4-5 heroics an hour. You get 26g first heroic random and 13g afterwards? And then vendor all sorts of crap So 4-5 heroics nets you 25-30 emblems for 3ish gems and 70-85g in straight up gold.
resolution.guildlaunch.com We're having ranged dps issues and I have a 5600~ gs warlock I can come on if I'm not needed to tank. Got Putricide last night in the first night our guild ever had 25 people show up for a 2nd raid night, lulz. If tonight goes well we'll have BQL and Dreamwalker down and we still have 2 baddies we need to replace but we're managing to kill stuff with them.
Ok, pretty sure this isn't the right place to ask this. But, I just got hacked today. No trojan's, i'm not stupid enough to go to sites in those stupid whispers, the only thing i've downloaded recently was that rawr program. They attached an authenticator to my account. Anyway. I got it back. What i'm wondering is wtf could've caused this so it can be prevented. I have virus scanners and run them all the time. Like i said, i don't go to any sites i don't recognize. As a matter of fact i go to like.. 7-8 websites only. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen?
It's getting to the point where you need a very secure password to protect your account, now that your battle.net email is the easiest thing in the world for would be hackers to acquire. Also make sure you're using a decent antivirus if you're serious about not getting hacked. AVG isn't going to cut it anymore.
Also get an authenticator of your own. 6 bucks for a lifetime of security is a bargain.
Yea got authenticator today. changed antivirus today as well. downloaded avast and microsoft security suite. I thought my password was pretty good but i guess it wasn't. I'm sure that i didn't screw up and type it anywhere wrong. and i've run 6 antivirus scans on my computer all came up clear. So i know no trojan. Just don't know how the hell it happened.
Who says you have to pay for decent antivirus? Even MS Security Essentials is a far cry better than AVG's free version. Also, Nod32 and Kaspersky are quite easily obtained for free. I'd never trust my security to a free version of any paid antivirus product, ever.
Anyone familiar with any decently progressed (Has killed LK preferably) guilds that raid late night PST? A couple friends and I are really looking for a new guild to join, and I'm currently going through WoWprogress to find any alliance guilds that raid late night lol Just thought I'd post here to see if anyone knows of any
AVG has given me a half dozen false positives (not a serious issue) and one missed threat (serious issue) on the last three-ish stress tests I've run (read: opening as many spam mail links and shady sites on a dumb box as I can).
Combine that with the atrocious memory and CPU time it demands whenever it runs a scan and their underhanded methods of trying to get you to buy into their full security suite every time there's a version update and it's just a terrible piece of software anymore.
If you want something solid, buy nod32
If you want something free, MSE is surprisingly good, but if you're allergic to Microsoft products then Avast works. Panda has this new Cloud Antivirus but I haven't really tested it, seems like an interesting concept at first glance but I worry about its effectiveness since it seems to rely on someone actually getting attacked, not doing preventative maintenance.
Yeah, arguments aren't compelling me much, folks. I don't have the money to pay for security suites (and I'm sure as hell not going to crack a security program, that's just playing with fire).
If I have to choose between a free program run by a reliable for-profit company that has kept me secure for years or one that is produced exclusively free and, therefore, exists more or less at the whim and availability of the developer, I'm going with the former. Let's say you need a counselor because your marriage is on the rocks and you have a choice between a 23-year-old priest straight out of seminary or the twice-monthly couples counseling session offered free by a local Ph.D. who has been running a successful practice for 15 years. Which are you going to go for? I'll grant you the resource usage, Nore, but my scans run at 4 AM so that it is a non-issue and, I must say, the build I presently have has been running faster and with less system-wide slowdown than usual.
In the many years I've been using AVG, the only time I've anything show up is when I was 99% certain I was installing a virus. False positives are an inevitability, there's always going to be something that eventually looks fishy. While it's completely true that one can never be perfectly safe, I find that if any antiviral, regardless of manufacturer, is needed to protect my system, then I'm three steps behind the curve. Antivirals are my last line of defense before a system restore or full format, I can afford to stick with something I trust instead of jumping onto whichever is the new hot thing. I've watched so many anti-viral programs become the "You must have this" program of the month only to disappear within a season. I have a rule: Never opt in to a launch.
Do what you want, but:
This is not a healthy attitude towards computing security, and not a good enough reason to 'settle' for something that's been good enough for you but not good enough for many others. I'm merely advising to head towards the best possible solutions.False positives are an inevitability
t10 shoulders + chest is fine if you think you're going to be getting heroic LDW head, especially if you're not going to be comparing to 277 tier gear
personally in your scenario I'd go for t10 shoulders+hands though, for the hit
either way, just remember that as a paladin tank you cannot have "too much" hit rating until you're over 18%, or expertise until you're over 52; but either will surpass the other easily in value if it's below 8%/26 and the other is not (counting expertise glyph)
