My laptop is getting stuck occassionally on the initial load screen. It's an older machine, and my wife's desktop has no such problem.
My guild tells me they see my "soandso has come online" thing pop up, but I show the loadscreen and nothing changes.
This started after 3.3.3, so I'm wondering if anyone else is getting something similar when they log in on an older machine.
Yeah im getting it alot also, i just close the game and then relog and it normally just lets me straight in.
If guild sees you come online but you never get all the way in, you can almost guarantee it's an addon. Disable them all, re-enable one by one until you reproduce the problem.
My train of thought was going that way too, but I know that this past week I've logged in a number of times with no addons loaded, and I -think- I still had the problem.
I've also updated the addons I typically use (Quartz, Healbot, Decursive, Carbonite), although my updated Quartz still says it's out of date, so idk my bff jill.
so I'm stuck in dalaran waiting for a raid to start, like everyday
was like how I ended up in ffxi, sat in whitegate all day
all the guilds on my server suck or are too good for me
halp, what do I do. the boredom is killing me
Kill the lich king, then quit WoW. You've effectively all but beat the game, if there's nothing to do anymore that interests you other than HNMing/raiding and having to deal with the subsequent drama involved.
been thinking about that. With ffxiv coming, maybe i shouldn't take it so seriously since I'm not going to bother with cataclysm if they come out close together.
I believe you already know the answer.
You can either quit or keep playing till something better comes out. Personally i'm just waiting for FF14.
I think I'm going to quit. It would do me good to have time off before I delve myself into another half decade + of hardcore MMOing.
Quit wow, get your hopes up for FF14, play 14, get disappointed when SE pulls the same garbage it did in 11, go back to WoW.
Save yourself the time and just take a break from WoW and come back for Cata.
I said I'd come back and stick around to "Beat the game", which, for me, was getting revenge on Arthas, since WC3 is what got me into initially playing WoW. I never cared for Vanilla bosses, so Cata means very little to me outside of the actual changes to the gameplay. Most likely I'll be playing 14 then, until they decide to nerf any job that uses a lance and possibly has a jumping attack.
There are really some high hopes and expectations for a game from a company that doesn't have the best track record.
Guess thats a good thing about wow though, it'll be here when the others disappoint. Don't think any other mmo's have even broken 2mil players yet, think star wars or trek or whatever is supposed to.
Honestly, that's all WoW is. It's a solid game to fill in for all the games that fall flat. There's really no good reason a game hasn't come around to overcome WoW, it's just a complete failure from all the other MMO's out there. WoW is starting to get dated, but it's still such a solid game and no MMO seems to care to launch with a full game and I don't think you can beat WoW without launching with a full game. The early no-life critics need something to do after a week and it can't be senseless grinding to level up.
I preferred the setting and potential story in LotR and Aion more than WoW, but gameplay never interested me. Champions Online (tried free beta this weekend) actually has a pretty neat gameplay/character building bit, but there's not much of a game. DDO was too slow (like DnD imo) for my tastes.
If I give FFXIV a chance I'll do it with the expectation that I very well could return to WoW, I'm hoping FFXIV comes out before Cata or a few months after Cata (if Cata releases like WotLK and has one raid for 6 months it'll get old) so I don't feel like I miss anything, but it really won't be a big deal either way, Blizzard will let me ease back into their game without too much trouble.
I have T10 hands on my rogue. I have 53 Frost badges. Should I wait and buy T10 legs or go ahead and get the T10 shoulders (at 60 Frost) and pray legs drop sometime in VOA?
I'm not in a consistent raiding guild, PUG ICC 10/25 mostly.
So this is my rogue that I haven't played since around the time of algalon firsts

I don't know shit about rogue anymore since so much has changed. What's the best way to start gearing it, should I go for t9? I have the 245t9 gloves already. I guess some icc5mans for the daggers and a few other pieces as well... I still have to use rupture in my rotation until my gear changes - but when should I drop it?
note: I plan on hoarding frost badges for a while until I decide if I want shadow's edge for my warrior or not
Well, t9 for rogue is AWFUL. Loaded with blue sockets and not one piece of it has haste on it. More advice to come, trying to kill BC10 with a fail group. If you want to raid with it, I'd definitely spam FoS-H for Blood Weeper, as Bootblade is still a really great OH. Rupture Mutilate is still a viable spec, especially with 4t9 bonus. Tier9 bonuses are absolutely shit, and the stats on them aren't good at all. Horde haste, hit over 315, spec into 51/18/2. You could look into death-warmed belt as a placeholder for ICC10/25 gear since it's really good and cheap now. For mutilate, that chest piece you've got is like impossible to come by now and it's perfectly itemized, keep that until like, Ikfirus' Sack of wonder or something. Honestly, in RuptMut with that gear, you could waltz into ICC10 and do just fine lol.
