I'm doing 7-8k on toravon 25 even though I have a 4800gs, kinda nice.
Guess I'll stick with rupture for now, thanks for tips.

Are you still in school? Then yeah you'll have time for hardcore MMOing.
How long an MMO lasts for people past their college years seems to have more to do with its answer to 'okay I have 30 minutes, what can I accomplish?' than anything else. If the answer changes into something you don't like anymore, that's the strongest possible sign you can get to quit. Sometimes all taking time off from gaming is going to teach you is that you liked doing that other non-gaming stuff more.
If you plan on staying combat, the correct spec is 20/51/0, but instead of going 3/3 Imp. Eviscerate, max out Ruthlessness and Blood Spatter since you are using Rupture. For 232/245 gear level you don't really have to worry about getting any tier pieces unless you need a specific stat like expertise (which the t9 helm has a good chunk of). Using Rupture is actually fine with the most recent patch if you are gemming AP/haste, especially considering your gear level. As your gear gets better though, it becomes debatable whether to keep using Rupture or switch to Eviscerate only. This is purely speaking from a combat spec perspective, as Mutilate spec you will never use Rupture. Envenom only.
The very first frost badge upgrade you should get is Herkuml War Token, as it is by far the best frost badge item for rogue, and is BIS in some cases. I'd use that to replace your Pyrite Infuser. After getting that, use frost badges to get t10 pieces. Greatness is still a decent trinket, and IMO the next trinket to strive for that's relatively easy to get once you get into ICC10s is Whispering Fanged Skull from Lady Deathwhisper. It's better than non-heroic Death's Choice/Verdict, and definitely easier to procure.
If you're intent on going mutilate, the daggers from TOC10/25 are pretty good, should pick those up if you can get into a decent PUG, otherwise as stated before, just do the ICC 5 mans for the 232 daggers.
With the envenom change, should i be envenoming as combat? With instant/deadly
No, Rupture and/or Eviscerate are still better for Combat than Envenom.
Spreadsheets don't have alot of my gear, and I don't care enough about this alt to go too in depth with it... so I'm gonna do it the old fashion way. Eyeballing, and trial&error lmao. Obviously with educated choices and advice though.
On a training dummy with 4pc mutilate was pulling ahead of combat, and ruptureless mutilate without blood spatter was putting out the highest sustained dps I could get. Decided to try equipping Garona's helm for the expertise, and my 245 t9 gloves, and my dps didn't move at all which I was happy with. Stats are actually slightly higher and I can go into fleet footed with 23/23exp until I change out another gem or 2.
Using relentless dagger mainhand with combatants bootblade offhand. 2pc t8 and 2pc t9, and it's working out ok. Combat working better in heroics, would love to see new numbers on toravon since I was getting so high with old combat spec and gear. Rogue will most likely be used for pvp but it's nice to have another way to get primordials and bring something else to icc (since warrior is pretty much done with the instance). Still not sure if I'll be buying the War totem and tier 10 as soon as I can, I guess we'll see how fun this becomes. I lost interest in rogue going for top100 yogg0 attempts, it really killed my interest in the pve side of the class. Hopefully I can get at least some of that back.
Thanks for the help. Now to learn how to pvp on it again, gonna be hard to get back to my 2400 rating lol. Had to ask a friend about poisons and envenom/evisc earlier, but he's only 1800 so I don't really trust him.
Ok call me nuts or whatever but a few days ago, drowning in Dalaran lag i spotted an hunter with a spirit wolf pet.
Now, I'm not referring to the "northrend type" wolf with spirit texture. This one was a "vanilla type" wolf with a spirit-looking texture (blue into dark blue) much like the guiding spirit from Mulgore quest.
There are indeed wolves like that on Petopia but no one is listed as tameable so, am I missing something or what? Could this be another exploit like the worgen pet?
It's not an exploit, but no, you can't tame it anymore.
It's the Grimtotem Spirit Guide, a mob summoned by Grimtotem in uh...Dustwallow Marsh I think. They had a fixed duration and then would automatically despawn; but they could be tamed. You had to get a metric ton of haste, including drums and bloodlust.
The hunter community inquired of Blizzard whether or not this was a problem, and Blizzard said they rather admired the ingenuity of the players for finding a way to capture something special (though admittedly, it wasn't intended behavior for them to be tameable).
Not even a month later with patch 2.4 the mob ID was replaced by "Grimtotem Spirit Wolf" which was NOT tameable. People who had them didn't lose them, but anyone who didn't get one was now SOL.
2t9 set bonus is awful, the only reason i advised a possible Rupture Mutilate spec is because of 4t8 bonus (which he already has) which boosts Rupture damage by 20%. You want to keep 25ish Expertise and 315+ hit in all scenarios and all specs. Combat is by far the best and (imo) the only option if you're spamming heroics. Blade flurry, killing spree, fan of knives (maybe even glyphed if you're just combat for heroics), all excellent for groups. If you manage to get Orcish Deathblade from ToC10, that and bootblade make a pretty fucking amazing pair for mutilate, and would save you from spamming FoS-H. Mutilate is by far the easiest spec to get damage out of imo, since it's so reliant on poison damage. 2x1.40 daggers with a shitload of haste and you can turn out 8k on single non-moving targets with ease.
I am about to start WoW back up with my brother. I left off with a 60 Mage, 60 Warrior, and 60 Paladin. Any specific specs I should go for on level each to 80?
For Mage, I recommend frost. It's slightly lower DPS for dungeons in comparison to Fire or Arcane, but single target grinding / questing, it really can't be beat. Frostbolt spam guarentees you won't take any damage.
For Pally, I recommend tanking and/or healing, preferably buy the 1k dual-spec and try to gear for both. Pallies, its easy to queue and get in instantly as a team or healer, and dungeon grind to 80.
I was referring to tier8 4pc.
Right now my 245relentless dagger is working for a mainhand. Mutilate without rupture is stupidly easy to play and i was able to easily pull 7k in 10man toravon today. If I can get a comparable dagger i'll replace the relentless, but right now it's the highest dps i've got. My only worry now is getting back into the pvp side of things.
So why are people suddenly downing heroic gunship battle 25-man left and right, when I know for a fact my realm has not yet downed LK25? (Seriously. There's like, Trade shouts for it and stuff.)
Bug?
People who have killed it transferred to your server? Only 1 person needs kill to change difficulty.
Arcane at 64 ftw.
I disagree about dungeon grinding too, it might work for some people, but unless your speed clearing nonstop with some friends, and have rested xp, its just not as fast as efficiently questing.
Ret+Prot as pally too, ret in holy gear can heal instances reasonably well until northrend, judgement talent is so broken. prot is nice for the group quests.
What makes arcane the best @ 64?
