From my experience with spreadsheets, they work mostly under the most optimal, unrealistic conditions. A while back I was told to gem crit/agi for my hunter.

Gemming isn't something that you can try out, or see which fits right for you, so there still is a need for spreadsheets but they have flaws.

For example, spreadsheets tell me to use NES over Greatness card for my Surv hunter. In every situation I've attempted the NES was never higher consistently, I would get spikes where it would be only slightly higher for a mana burst or two.

Nah i'm using Excel07, I think i figured out what the problem is though. Haste seems to have diminishing returns in WoW? Seems once I go over ~800 haste, it tells me that AP is a larger DPS increase (39.98ish per 20 haste, 40.00 per 40ap). The more haste I gem, the less each gem is worth, according to EJ 3.3.3 Mut spreadsheet.

It does have largish diminishing returns per rating point, I always presumed to eliminate that increasing returns per % issue, that being said, it also balances weirdly, because as you have higher AP, then the haste has a greater effect, then you hit diminishing returns, then the AP has a higher effect, etc

I've decided to level a mage for some strange reason (RMP really).

Thoughts/tips for leveling? Frost until 75 seems to be the norm... just spam frost bolt?

How about for lower level PVP specs? (since rumor has it you can gain almost half a level for a win)

First of all, I am the worst person in the world (I've been told this) with computers, I don't understand them, I generally have problems fixing them, and for some reason they always seem to break when I touch them.

Now with that out of the way, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of why WoW would hard-core lag on my computer? So far I've played WoW on two computers, a Dell Dimension 4600 that I have probably owned for 5 years or more, and a Gateway FX P series laptop that I have only owned for around eight months.
As far was WoW goes, I played through all of BT and Naxxaramas on the Dell, until I quit and/or went casual to just do 10 mans. While on the Dell I never had any problems with lag, although I did generally have to keep the settings to the lowest possible if I wanted to load things. After switching to the Gateway and joining an ICC 25 man group its become unbearable to play due to lag, even when turned downed to the lowest settings. My cast bar generally moves in increments of 4 and because of this my DPS is downright terrible.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for fixing my plight.
Things I have tried:
Running Game Booster (http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html).
Disabling all add-ons besides DBM.
Opening up all the ports for World of Warcraft (Friend told me how to do it, don't know what I even did honestly)

I run Webroot Antivirus (http://www.webroot.com/En_US/index.html) sweeps weekly and have it on at all times. Problems in the past have had to do with RAM and such, but the Gateway has 4GB of RAM which from what I understand is more then enough (I think I was running the Dell on 750MB all through BT)

Heat problems with the wifi and gfx card. Probably also an integrated card instead of an independent one. Get a cooling pad, and also check to see if there's any issues with your laptop.

Get Landsoul's spreadsheet, it'll tell you one way or the other for sure.

But generally depends how many other expertise items you have, if you can get 26/26 expertise without having to use Ramaladni, Quel is probably going to be a fair bit better (100+ dps raid buffed over ram).

About the hunter leveling stuff--

Anyone know what addon might be causing this problem? I've had this problem forever and no clue what it is:

When I'm in a raid, and I inspect someone, then click on the talents tab sometimes it will show me another players talents.

FOR EXAMPLE lol.

I target a Warrior, I click inspect, I click talents. It shows me them for a brief second then shows me say, a mages talents while the warrior is still targeted.
