Should all mostly work fine when you copy/paste the entire wow folder, unless its some ui customizations like listed above.
I did something similar from winxp32bit -> win764bit copy paste(everything!), all of my like 15 mods worked fine (everything from auctioneer, titan panels, to personal wowequip profiles, gearscore database, prat chat settings, parrot combat log displays etc)
Not "all" your addon info's in the WTF folder either, some of its in the cache folder etc so... if you want to be sure, copy it all pretty much![]()
So I'm reDLing WoW, and if for some reason if the DL gets interrupted, do I have to start all over again or does it start from where it was at last?
It should pick up where it left off, I recall mine doing something similar last time I had to reinstall.
So random question for the hunters.
boytoy wanted to go back to WoW so we're leveling pali and war together.
Only thing is I still like playing on my hunter for instances n' shit.
Anyway, apparently my misdirection macro no longer works.
If I hit it, it's supposed to misdirect to my focus target, or if there is no focus, to my pet.
It just does it to me now lol.
This is what I have:
#showtooltip
/cast [target=focus, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=focustarget, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=target, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=targettarget, help] Misdirection
/cast [target=pet, nodead, exists] Misdirection
I copied it from somewhere but I have no idea. And I dunno anything about coding in wow so not sure what changed that would need this fixed.
Any ideas? :X
Er, what just happened here? >_>
holy shit sorry Norellicus, I accidentally hit "edit" instead of "post reply"
I did it so shortly after you posted though so it wouldn't let me put it back. XD
Fail mod is fail.
But ya I am not sure I've been gone 8+ months now, I will check next instance. I did it once though and I was still getting smacked in the face.
lol np XD
You could also try changing the macro up a little, I'm not sure if it'll do anything better/different but it's worth a shot in case it's getting caught in a command storm instead of parsing the logic, and will at the very least save you a few characters:
#showtooltip
/cast [@focus, help] Misdirection; [@focustarget, help] Misdirection; [@target, help] Misdirection; [@targettarget, help] Misdirection; [@pet, nodead, help] Misdirection
I've been using this one myself
#showtooltip
/cast [target=focus,exists,nodead][target=pet,exists,nodead] Misdirection
only thing I don't like about it is when I forget to actually focus the MT so I kill my pet because of the insane threat I dump with my burst dps ;/
Figured I'd ask here, didn't wanna make a new topic, since you'd all link me here anyway.
Fancy killing some shit while I wait for FFXIV(inb4 GTFO), and my Guild Wars doesn't wanna work, so I looked at WoW. I'm no fool, I know if I start playing WoW there's a chance on no escape, but I hope to just play it kind of casually. Maybe a little endgame(when I get to that point) but not heavy into it.
With that in mind, I saw the WoW Battle Chest for £13, and a 60 day card is £20. But would it be worth getting the WotLK expansion? Is there anything endgame that players still do on WoW and BC?
You don't need WotLK until you get a character to level 70+. You can access everything else in the game until those level zones come along. I don't know what all the prices would be but you can always pickup the game, see how much you enjoy the first 70 levels then consider getting WotLK or not.
You will probably need to buy Burning Crusade as well (unless they changed the price recently), make sure to check.
Main game: 1-60
Burning crusade: 61-70
WoTLK: 71-80
There is nothing to do right now aside questing and pvp before 80, however, like Eaglestrike said, you don't need to buy it until you reach the cap. Feel free to try the game, and buy them later if you enjoy your time. Personally, I thought 1-60 was somewhat boring compared to 60-80 (the area were prettier, the quests are more fun, the dungeon are more epic).
Don't worry about getting sucked in. Nothing in WoW require huge amount of efforts, so you won't feel bad about quitting/playing casually. You will never miss out on anything (well, the world is about to get nuked completely in the next expansion, so you might want to visit it before the change >_>)
[edit]
If you end up picking the game, make sure to pick a good server with lot of people. It makes everything easier.
Also, if you like soloing and want to see as much content as you can, play a job that can tank (paladin, druid, warrior). You will be able to do a lot more on your own.
So I need to buy WotLK if I plan to do anything endgame anyway? That's fair enough, don't have to buy it now at least, like you said.
Thankfully though, the Battle Chest has Vanilla and BC, so I can get to at least 70.
Be a couple of weeks, so it'll give me time to check out for a high population PvE realm.
Cheers guys!![]()
You're still not going to see a lot of people outside cities even on a high pop realm; people have their 80s and stick to them, or if they are leveling up they have heirlooms so they spend considerably less time in any given area than usual. Leads to a lot of desolate zones.
I wanna say this isn't really necessary anymore after they made the random dungeon tool. We started playing on Friday and boytoy's playtime is limited. We're almost 40 already though because we always have that flagged and just do quests until it pops. Think we get a dungeon like every 5-6 minutes lol. (until we hit X6-X7, inwhich we switch to BG queuing which also gives a lot if you do the call to arms ones) And those give lots of xp.
And considering it's a battlegroup instead of just server, he doesn't really need to be on a heavy populated one. And it still means he can be a dps or healer and still get some nice gear.
ya I will when maint is done.
