At this point in time, for pretty much a casual player (haven't raided hxc since tier7, if you want to even call that a tier), is it worth it to kill myself over gear upgrades? With cataclysm on the way, am I better off taking it easy, getting some achievements and making gold for cataclysm?
Do you want to see current content y/n?
That's basically the only question you need to answer, if you don't care then sure bank up for cata. Note that we're probably not going to have a BC-esque exodus of gear, they expect epix to be good through at least 2/3 of the added content, maybe all the way to 85 and then replaced by the 85 "heroic" gear at that point.
I kinda wanna down the lich king once, just to say I did it. I've seen most raids this xpack, but even if I tried I doubt I'd get a LK kill because my server has maybe 1 guild alliance side that's downed him (we're in the like the top 10 worst servers ever I think).
Ahahah fizzcrank.
Yeah, I have a char on there and feel my braincells die every time I walk into trade chat areas, worse than any other server I've been on; and a friend is in one of the rumored "better" guilds and they still can't manage more than like 6/12 in icecrown.
xfer off or take your time, I wouldn't expect to get far there.
I have a two part question for Tanks, mainly Paladins.
First for Sindragosa HM: Do you find frost resist gear to be useful? I was told switching out my http://www.wowhead.com/item=51913 for my http://www.wowhead.com/item=49489 would definitly be worth it but I'm mainly asking about Icebane gear, and possibly Judgement helm (+10 FR).
Second for general tanking: Do you find socketing Hit/Expertise before Stam to be useful? After looking at the optimal gear I would be sporting (10 man hardmode and 25 man easy mode) I found a huge lack of hit rating and expertise rating. Would sticking +20 Hit gems in yellow sockets and +15 Expertise/10 Stam gems in Red sockets be worth doing?
For 2nd one, if you have threat problems then yes switch out stam for hit, as for the expertise guess it would depend on your healers. Unless blizz changed something, getting parried/dodged from the front meant the boss had free hits on you.
Plus the whole threat loss thingie.
There's a lot of bosses that have parryhaste disabled. It's more a threat stat than a mitigation one, but does factor as mitigation occasionally.
Heya guys. I was trying to log in today after the patch and I got the message "The login server is currently busy. Please try again later." I tried a few more times and it still wont' let me in. I tried logging in my friend's account (on the same server) and it worked. Should I just wait longer or is there another way to get on my account?
There were a few servers that were down for 24hrs instead of the original time.
Thoughts on 264 Organ (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50344)? From people that have used it.
I just got it from H Putri and went to Blood, didn't seem to stay stacked at all on Princes, of course wasn't useful for BQ. Couldn't stack it on Sindra, I'm wondering what fights this trinket is actually useful for? Festergut comes to mind but it could wear off while he Inhales, which means I have to stack it back up in the time I need it the most.
Anything with a lot of physical damage. Lord Marrowgar, Lich King, Rotface/Festergut, Saurfang, etc.
Inhale doesn't take 10 sec. You won't lose it then. You will lose the stack on any tank swap for obvious reasons.
If you need to retain high stamina immediately after a tank switch it's bad mojo since it has the ramp-up time, but for all other cases it's probably your best option. The combination of the armor and the ramping stamina is just awesome.
Quick PvP question (please remember I'm still newb!)
For battleground pvp stuff, does spec really matter in the lower level stuff for paladin? I'm currently spec'd into protection (don't have enough gold for dual spec, but probably will in a couple of weeks), but I have a decent 2H Axe to use (Dwarven Charge) - along with a good mace (Wirt's 3rd Leg) and shield (Collection Plate).
I'd guess that in the 49 bracket, spec won't really matter. I guess my question is more of what weapon set up to use?

I'm probably going to grind some pvp (I've done very little pvp on paladin, a little on my hunter that I don't play anymore) until I ding 50.
It's obviously best when it has 100% or near that in uptime
Marrowgar, Festergut, Blood Queen, in my experience, are the only ones that have that.
Putricide comes close, but his Unstable Experiment casts have fucked it over a bunch.
Really, it's only great in ICC, where the Dodge debuff is in place.
I rarely ever use it.
I guess I'll make a list of bosses I do and see if people agree with it.
Marrowgar: I OT so I doubt it would keep stacked
LDW: Tank switches, add phases, no way
Saurfang: Has a tank switch, but hits hard/fast, maybe?
Fester: I MT, but chance to fall off with the Slime Sprays
Rotface: Dunno tbh
Putricide: Unstable Experiment letting it wear off?
Princes: Didn't seem to stay stacked for me
Blood Queen: OT, can't stack it.
Valithria: Adds, can't stack it.
Sindra: Wears, attacks too slow.
LK: Not sure, never tanked LK before.
TOGC10 can't imagine using it on any of the bosses. Although it seems pretty good for Algalon considering how hard/fast he hits.
Oh and the my other trinkets are Skeleton Key/Jugg Vitality.
Marrowgar: You'll get stacks from his cleave no matter which tank has 'threat', it should stay up between bonestorms.
LDW: You'll get stacks from adds, but not much else; she spends more time casting than hitting.
Lootship: I like tanking the home ship with this, it makes the other tank rage when I pop SI for lulz :3
Saurfang: You'll get stacks pretty quick, yeah. I should probably just clarify that anything that spends its time actually meleeing a lot and not doing anything with a 'cast time' should stack it to decent effect; the only significance is that you don't have the stacks when you switch back after tank swap.
Fester: Shit hits like a madman, you'll stack it np and shouldn't lose it on spray but obviously won't have the stacks on the swap back; not usually a problem if healers are coordinated for CDs
Rotface: Should stack if MT, not likely if ooze kite (iirc the damage is magic anyway, better off with key here)
PP: shouldn't wear on unstable experiment...he hits often enough and that cast time isn't very long. I can't say for sure since I'm always teh abom. Will obviously lose it on phase changes.
Princes: Tank the two melee princes yourself, profit from stack gains. (dunno if this is possible on heroic llo, if not then yeah just one prince probably won't stack)
BQL: MT will get stacks, OT no way; will lose stacks on blood whirl
Valithria: Will stack like a madman
Sindragosa: Won't stack reliably but her melee hits are hard enough to warrant the armor for me, the EH value of the armor alone is better than the key
LK: Never fought http://images.bluegartr.com/forum/im...ns/mmithra.png
Was wondering how many posts that would take
