DBM disables raidmarkers when it sees a discrepancy in version numbers to prevent bugs/conflicts, get your whole raid on the newest version and try again.
There's a command I think you can hit that will show every person's version or something, can use that to point a finger at someone.
But kind of like Thuronn said, Defile is completely detectable, just get people to turn a ToT (focus) frame on. It's a 2 second cast, and on a predictable timer; people should be able to look up and see who is being targeted so they can adjust position accordingly.
So... if I copy my WTF folder on my desktop onto my laptop, will it automatically import all my addon settings, provided those same addons are installed on my laptop?
It should, yes, since it's the same characters and all.
just copy your entire wow folder. some addons/settings are stored differently and I never took the time to check where that is since copying takes like 10 min <_<
Under normal circumstances, all addons should be under the "World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\" directory and all addon saved variables should be under the "World of Warcraft\WTF\" directory. I know there are some issues with write protection if wow is installed in the program files folder, but I've read that it only affects windows vista and possibly windows 7 users.
its /dbm version and yes just have all them lazy fucks upgrade it. Might want to have no more than 3 raid assistants too.
I miss you Aes! ;;
So 1 month on I think I've pretty much hit my "cap" without investing huge amounts of gold on craftables and time in content with 6 or more people (raids) (due to work times). DK, full set of Tier 9 (normal), some decent weapon off the Scourgelord dude, and random gems/accessories (all epic) elsehwere, except for Trinkets (saving triumphs for them)
I was wondering, previously before Frost badges were introduced, did they drop the same way as it does currently for Frost? What I mean, was it only possible to access/get T9 stuff by doing a daily random heroic (x2 Triumphs) and whatever the penultimate content that was available in order to buy T9 gear?
Then after Frost came out, the requirements/work for them (triumphs) were reduced. I'm kinda semi-wondering if when Catalycsm comes out if Frost badges will become a regular drop off heroic bosses so it will allow for easier upgrading? In the meantime, the hardcore/good stuff will be whatever (Tier 11?) and require much more effort to get.
Is that what is expected?
My GS is 4.5k~ at the moment.
There will be a new badge for cata. Pre ICC and frost, Triumph was only from TOC and heroics gave out conquest badges. Also, there was no weekly raid to get 5 free badges/week. However, durring Tier 9 content raiding, you could do ToC in both regular and Heroic to get Triumphs as they were considered different raids.
When cata comes out frost badges will be obsolete, just like the Justice (?) Badges back in BC.
Wow really? !! (Frost stuff being obsolete etc etc)
I really like the look of the T10 DK stuff on my char, but if that is really the case I think I'll sit back and not attempt to be so hardcore on gear then. I do remember people arguing somewhere about how each update/patch/expansion makes ALL previous gear obsolete however, so this was to be somewhat expected now that you reminded me of this.
Did you come to know this in the Beta or is it just as expected? Then again, thinking back, when I first started questing in Northend I did admit I was hugely surprised at the "leap" of reward in how the sword I got from some quest far exceeded my current sword by miles.Frost badges are going to be useless the day Cata hits, in the first level of quests or so the quest greens are already better than the frost badge stuff.
I was saving up about 20000 gold also for some shiny boots/belts/pads/wrists (the item level 264 stuff that is crafted) but now I might just not bother, and instead gold up for the expansion and/or just buy epic flying.
Quest green being better than frost badge gears isnt true. Unless you're talking about 251 with shit itemization, they are usually better than 277 green . ilvl 264 were always better. Out of 15-20 reward, the only thing I changed was a dps trinket since I had crap on ret.
You probably wont change most of your 264+ gears before 5men or reach 85.
There is, or was, ilvl 300 greens from the first level of quests in the undersea zone(whatever its called, i forget).
besides, its going to take what, 3 days tops to hit 85 on a character? and just using ret as an example, there is a craftable polearm with something like 2500 base damage.
There might be one or two slots that don't get replaced in the first day or two, but to advocate going hardcore into T10 just for an advantage in the start of cata is not really worth it.
Although, its still likely to be a while before cata hits, lots still to be tested, if you enjoy T10 just play for the here and now.
I was going to try and finish the loremaster achievement before cata comes out. The only problem I am having is that I have no idea what quests I have done. Is there any easier way then traveling around while tracking low level quests?
EveryQuest (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...veryquest.aspx) + LightHeaded + TomTom = ez Loremaster.
I say easy, it's still going to take you an assload of time, but you wont have to worry about what quests to pick up.
