Hm, to be honest I've not explored that area haha, to me that map is just Dalaran. Will go look!

The only thing I'll disagree with isGo to howling fjord at 68, and you can very easily complete the achievement, then go to borean tundra, and you never run into level restrictions (there is one that you can miss in fjord if you go south before north after landing camp, for horde, I admit, but if one quest makes the difference I'll eat my hat)Level requirements on quests in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. There are many quests with level 69+, 70+ and even 71+ already in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. If you go there at 68, many of them won't be up for you and you'll have to go back to those zones later, which is a waste of time. That means more running around to the same spots where you could have done everything in one run.
I've hit silver exclamation points before in tundra on one of my first characters when I entered at 68... It all depends on boa gear, how much xp you are into the level when you first enter, if you do dungeons, etc. It's all personal preference too. I like moving from mob to mob quickly, or in the case of my lock, gathering every mob in range. I dislike fighting an equal or higher level mob for any length of time, needing to eat or drink, etc. Lots of people are going to say go at 58/68, lots are going to say go at 60/70. The jump in mob hp and everything feels like it slows me down, I'd rather do 2quests in the time it takes for 1 in northrend. Combine that with how many mobs I can kill in x amount of time, if I can squeeze in parts of another, or even a 3rd quest in the time it takes for 1 northrend quest, and with the way I play; leveling is faster for me... and others obviously.
As a wise man once said, shit is situational.
For the most part, but he asked for a reason and was given tons.
Howling Fjord is beautful man, whatchoo talkin' about. Utgarde Keep has some scenic shots, and I really like the suspended, burning ship on the way to the alliance camp.
Prettiest WotLK area for my buck is the stained glass hallways on the way to General Pinchy in Ulduar. Srsly. Pity you can't mount there.
LOL THIS ISNT COMPLAINT THREAD LOL
i r nub indeed
They are the same level zones with the same quest level requirements...
Right, I need help with my fresh 80 druid tank. I've gotten him some BoE leather gear and various bits end ends from the AH but he's still desperately in need of better gear that can be bought with Triumphs, which means tanking Heroics.
Where I'm promptly getting peeled like a fucking grape because I'm up against some pretty hefty DPS who are just in there for their two frost and done. So far I've staved off getting punted from groups for having the temerity to need upgrades from heroics, but I'm in dire need of better tricks to keep a hold of a group of mobs when they're pounding on me. Swipe/tab/Swipe/tab/Swipe ain't cutting it, and neither is FF/tab/Mangle/tab/Swipe+Maul, as neither combination is enough to keep a 3-pack off a caster who's popping 4/5k dps per target with AOE.
I can ask them to wait, or team up with a non-retard Rogue for snap aggro but at some point I'm going to not have either crutch and will just have to snap mobs to me in a hurry. Do I just wait for certain 4-5 pulls in a heroic then pop berserk and smash Mangle, hoping not to die of boredom before the pack does? Or is there something else I'm missing about keeping a pack of mobs in a 5-man on ME and off the casters while I farm triumphs?
Mash buttons and use taunt. Should pretty much always be mauling, mangle on every CD and constantly switching targets. Swiping every GCD mangle isn't up unless you want to fill one with FFF. Bash/Feral Charge are also somewhat of oh shit buttons that can be used to buy your DPS a little bit of time to live, although there is a threat tradeoff. If you don't have a good weapon yet try to get one very fast, as it helps threat generation in a massive way. With the problems you have ilvl is probably the most important thing, stats don't really matter that much.
My general opening for a 3 pack would be a FFF opener and then mangle+maul on 1, change target to 2 and swipe+maul, change target to 3 and FFF+maul, then change to whatever seems to be going down the fastest and spam mangle/maul/swipe, taunt if any look away from you.
Also if people are opening REALLY early with AoE on an undergeared tank they deserve to die, ICC/Heroic gear or not. If you're good enough to get the gear you should be smart enough to not get yourself killed in trivial content. As much as I hate people who suck or make things go slower, dying repeatedly is far worse than waiting an extra 1-2 seconds on pulls.
Edit:
My random question: Anyone have any good strats/comps for Yogg/1 Light? Was in a good group for it earlier tonight, 1 shot firefighter but had a bitch of a time with 1 light. Any helpful hints?
Feral Charge into the packs to help center them up quickly; glyph Maul to hit two targets with that, spam Maul and Swipe if 2+ targets. Keep nameplates on so you can easily see aggro loss and then switch to that specific mob as your focus target, taunt, Mangle/Maul, then go back to Swipe/Maul spam.
All you can do really; smart dps would probably give you a second or two, realize also that dps in T10 gear can probably take a hit or two and not turn into goo, so don't stress too much about it.
swipe + glyphed maul is where its at. also, while you get upgrades do not be afraid to pull less mobs.
Remember faery fire works like a pseudo-taunt when a mob is going for someone else it will give you extra threat.
Not going to weigh in on the 58/68 vs 60/70 argument as I really don't know which is better, but all even a first-time leveler needs to have their homepoint in Dalaran pre-68 is a spare 10g and the ability to use trade channel. Not being able to fly those two levels does seem rough though.
The druid tanking has been pretty well covered, but even with your optimal threat rotation, you won't be able to keep threat off reckless ilevel 251-277 geared dps as a relatively fresh 80 unfortunately. They can see your gear and should be able to exercise good sense, but if you're warning them at the start to mind their threat and they're still dying, it's really their own fault.
I done that before, and the responses I get were more or less:They can see your gear and should be able to exercise good sense, but if you're warning them at the start to mind their threat and they're still dying, it's really their own fault.
"lol noob/nab"
"you suck"
"gtfo"
etc ... the tables turn on melol - so no matter what I do, it's my fault haha. I'm generally more polite though if I was DPS and the tank did give us a warning, I normally hover over to Unholy Presence and then just swing without using any abilities.
I try not to be a tool about it on my lesser geared DK, but if someone starts complaining about my lack of hate-holding I point out the severe difference in gear and that I am hitting every button I possibly can. Retards will be retards no matter what you do though, and even in my case I've had people find dumb excuses to yell at me (best one: "wtf nub why are you using a 2h with frost spec"). Most people probably won't care that much though, and if you're lucky enough to have a sharp healer then nobody will really die no matter what happens (or the healer will be the one to yell at the dumb dps). Additionally as I said before, dps in T10 aren't terribly fragile, and trash pulls will die too fast to care about threat if they just blow through their normal rotation and tank it themselves instead of slowing down and worrying about tank threat.
It's really easy to be self conscious as a tank, especially when you actually care about your performance, but at some point you have to step back and really just be satisfied with what you can do given the circumstances, and not let the effect the other 4 people in your group have on the outcome bother you.
Tried to bear tank on my druid also, it's hell lots of fun. Im surprised on how many hunters dont MD or dont even know what MD is.
Hehe, yah, I'm confident at tanking now and generally do fine at gripping and timing my DnDs :D -- My DPS gear can't go much higher than so I am switching focus onto tank.
I did jump into Halls of Lightning NORMAL last week, once (was a mistake, but I didn't like to just abandon the group so decided to just complete it), with some fresh 80s and 78-79s, I wiped my group towards the end. I pulled a pack of 3 ironmen and then pulled a pack of 3 ironmen and a tall guy at the same time after my DnD was back up from the initial lay.... my group promptly wiped, oh god that felt so embarassing kinda. Luckily I took my Kingslayer title off to prevent any weird QQing ..., as I did made a mistake again a while ago and someone started QQing about "why a KS is doing a random with us" ... I thought about him telling him to shut up and consider it lucky that I'm here but decided to just ignore and finished the dungeon and leave.
People are weird in this game. I have no idea what kind of logic process could lead someone to the thought "why would a Kingslayer be in a random with us!?" lol.
Even if Kingslayer wasn't an already super diluted title, the sense of the comment is just nonexistent.
