I honestly find that tanking random HCs nowadays is pretty much what being pld or nin in a meritparty in ffxi means. youre just the guy that vokes the mobs before the rest unleash hell. :shrug:

I queue as tank on my DK and just DPS everything. When you do 10-12k on bosses, the tank wont keep it off you anyways.

I done that before, and the responses I get were more or less:

"you suck"
"gtfo"

etc ... the tables turn on me lol - so no matter what I do, it's my fault haha. I'm generally more polite though if I was DPS and the tank did give us a warning, I normally hover over to Unholy Presence and then just swing without using any abilities.

Unfortunately, there's really no getting around running into idiots aside from just queueing up with people you know.
I'll admit, when I join a pug as DPS I just run through ripping hate constantly, but any attentive healer can keep me alive anyway. If the healer is struggling, I just stop. Trying to blame the tank would be pointless.

I got the "Why is a KS here?" bitching in a normal gundrak from a rogue while powerleveling some friends' alts by queueing tank and blowing through dungeons. People really will complain about anything.

Ok so my warlock is slowly getting gear, broke the 4600gs mark lol... And I haven't spent any badges of frost because I didn't really see a point to doing so. Welp I've finally decided to start spending them, I have 54 as of right now (still need to do voa 10/25). I want to get my gearscore higher so I can try a few raids on the lock to see how I like it, to determine if I should level it first come cata. Obviously it's hard getting into any raid with this low of gearscore.

What do I spend them on first? I don't think it's worth it to get the 251 tier10 pieces because lets face it, I probably won't be able to get the 60 badges to get another tier piece so there isn't much point to that. My cloak is an ilvl200 blue, it's a piece of shit, and I gain something like 130gearscore by getting the 264, great choice... my other 2 options are either the 264gloves or belt.

Any suggestions?

I was planning to get the t9 gloves next for 2pc, which is a decent gs upgrade... so the maximum I can add to my gs is t9 gloves + 264 belt or cloak. I could also spend honor on wrathful cloak.

It sounds like you answered your own question; you're trying to maximize GS, and T9 gloves+frost belt/cloak accomplish that most effectively.

I don't know how the caster dps cloak stands in relation to alternatives but I know the tank and agi cloaks are the best ones available outside heroic modes, not sure about the belts.

Not a warlock player at all but if you're at all paranoid about allocating frost you can pick up minor upgrades via converting down triumphs emblems to get 226 belt and 213 (or 219 iirc) backs, to give you a small bump?

Triumphs will be easily farmed in comparison so you can downgrade with minimal fear, although queuing for random heroic is a bit of an issue as DPS only

Thats one of the issues, idk how good the caster cloak is... which is fine because I could get a wrathful cloak I suppose... But then its which cloak, the one with hit? Which lets me get the spirit/haste belt? Damnit I need a spreadsheet.

I wouldn't say the caster cloaks are as good as the tank/AGI one considering those cloaks are almost impossible to replace. I believe Saurfang 25 drops a cloak that is better than the Badge cloak, and Valithria 25 drops an amazing cloak that beats both of them.

So I'm on my Ret Pally doing H-Violet Hold (what popped for the random) and Prison Manifest drops. I need rolled it because I am building a heals offspec and I state that in party. 5k gs Shaman healer gets pissed off that I need rolled it (even though he rolled greed) and told me that since it is an offhand and not a shield that I'm really not building an OS. He let me die and didn't rez me.

I asked him why can't I use an offhand on pally heals and he says "because pallies use shields. stupid question." When I told him that I don't have a healing shield yet he just said that they are easy to get (bs, I've had 0 luck with the shield from PoS). So my question to BG: which one of us was in the wrong? I would like a shield eventually for more defensive stats as well but that means I can't need roll offhands that are good til then?
