For Vista/W7 users : Once its downloaded click "Custom" at the bottom placed next to "Optimal" and you should see a box light up on the right called "MTU" you need to change that to 900 and click apply.

For any other OS : You need to click "Manual" next to "Optimalization" and do the above/

It's important you guys know that when this issue is sorted, you have to set your MTU back to 1500, so its a good idea you keep it installed until this blows over. Also you might need to restart your system for it to take effect, like I said these fixes don't work for everyone."

So I started playing my rogue again just for some PvP funsies and I was wonder what the PvP specs and such are. I went Sub and was absolutely destroying people while still in ilvl 200 stuff but I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. Is mutilate still viable? Stunlocks still useful? All I really do is Ambush > Shadowdance > Ambush Ambush Ambush and stuff dies, and if dance isn't up I just Ambush and spam hemo and 5cp evis and stuff usually dies.

My usual rotation is Shadowstep + Premeditation > Ambush > Kidney Shot > Shadowdance > Cheap Shot > Ambush > Eviscerate. If I'm facing a Prot War/Paladin, I add in Dismantle after the first Ambush. They won't die after that rotation, so I use Blind, if Vanish is up, I use Vanish + Ambush, and that usually does the trick. This may sound ridic, but the only thing that'll give you trouble are frost mages. Jesus fuck they're annoying as shit, but even then, they're clothies, so they die easily; just have to be smart about your abilities.

I don't know about any other spec for PVP, so I don't know how good Mutilate is under Assassination spec. Considering other rogues I encounter are ALL Sub, I doubt there are any Rogues out there use that spec for PVP. However, I can't really speak for level 80 though...

Why on earth would you cheap shot straight after a Kidney Shot on that rotation, you have 6 seconds of stun on kidney, and your cheap shot would only be 1.5 seconds long. If you are doing anything other than spamming Ambush during Shadowdance in a BG you are wasting your cooldown unless you are in a "WOAGH SHIT" situation where you need to get a last gasp stun > sprint away.

I bg a lot and believe it or not I like to pvp on holy way more than disc (I know I'm backwards, but it's fun!). But whenever I do icc it always seems like I'm going disc, and I tried doing holy on an icc 10 guild run with a shammy healer, and it showed me how easy mode disc is in comparison.

I was actually told by some of my priest friends that Holy is now a better PvP spec than disc, although Pain Sup and Power Infusion if you PvP with friends that are mages (hell yeah) are particularly awesome.

even before the changes I liked it more because logically the only time you are really single target healing is in wsg. Everything else I was usually trying to heal at least 3+ people. And while bubble spam has great uses, it's not as effective when you're like the only healer there. XD

But ya now with chakra it's almost a no brainer.

My UI (I use Xperl unit frames) is showing myself and everyone I group with as "Away" at all times, giving them a black backround to their health/mana bars. Anyone know how this might be fixed? It recently came up after I did hours of nothing with WoW or my computer/addons, just randomly popped up...

This. Also Evangelism is worthless as well, along with Atonement. I've yet to find a situation where either of these would be helpful, at least with current content. A) I always have more than enough mana... B) Atonement is a waste of a talent point currently anyway.


I put Cheap Shot into that rotation because it seems people get out of my Kidney Shot stun way too quick. I don't always follow that rotation either... get caught up in the moment and my finger slips. Either/or, gets the job done.

More specifically, I meant Chakra is worthless for PVP. It's pretty bad in PVE too, but considering I'm able to keep everyone up in HM ICC just by staying in heal state and keeping renew refreshed on the tanks I guess it's not completely terrible(although I suspect this is only possible because of the 30% ICC buff). The extra holy word abilities are nice, but Ksandra was talking about PVP where you really shouldn't even be using heal and you can't spam renew or prayer of healing effectively on smaller groups of people so your chakra buff would constantly be falling off. I'd much rather have disc's toolkit instead of +10% crit on an ability you shouldn't be using in PVP or +10% healing on renew which comes out to like +50 hps when people have 40K health pools.

Prove me wrong? I've yet to find a situation where either of these things are useful. Maybe at a lower level, but at 80, useless.
