The gloves have gotta go, i know that. I'm working on my t7 gloves which will be a nice bonus. I'll respec and try out what you said. How much of a dps change will i be seeing do you think?

Edit: What's bad is in 3.1 i'll have to respec either way, with all that they're changing lol. Wish we had a date for the patch.

depends on alot of things, mob/buffs/CD's, there should be a noticeable difference tho, I cant really give you any solid numbers because it changes so much fight to fight.

wow. respecced, changed a few things you had, wandering plague is kinda worthless with as much aoe potential as unholy has. ditched corpse explosion, im busy enough already without it. brought my damage from 13xx - 16xx to 16xx - 1900x, and crit up to 26.86%

Only thing that took a hit was impurity is at 3/5, but i can live with that. Thanks for the tip!

PS first always, getting dots ticking is paramount

SS glyph is meh but not really anything more worthwhile to spend it on (assuming you have Ghoul and PS glyphs already)

And for Unholy you want as much STR as you can muster, generally, since your Ghoul gets an obscene amount of it on top of it helping your AP.

Your hit is a little overdone since you only really need to hit the 8% melee cap, the only 'spells' you have that use the 17% spellhit are your RP dumps so not a big deal if you miss one occasionally.

Exalted with Ebon Blade but head not enchanted? /sadface

Get some enchants going and throw your stuff into Rawr, see what it spits out for gemming and such in your current gear, and look at what it offers for upgrades down the line (use the optimizer upgrade list, not the one offered to the right of the main view, as the normal view as a rule tries to match socket colors unequivocally even with gems that don't exist, where the optimizer upgrade list uses only gems you select).

Edit: I think you're misreading Wandering Plague if you think its worthless; it gives a chance per tick of your diseases equal to crit chance to spread those diseases to other targets. Not a deal breaker for bosses but wrecks trash packs.

I still can't see your new build presumably because of the maintenance not allowing armory polling, but if you still have AMZ, that's entirely a tanking talent (and only really really needed for a Sarth+3 fight) and there's no reason to have it in a DPS build. Get Dark Conviction in there and you'll get a nice freebie 5% crit. Impurity is one of your best scaling talents and sacrificing it for anything really is bad.

This is still the best overall distribution of Unholy imo, you can take the two points from the aura and put them into Necrosis or Desecration if you want but you're firing off PS often enough that I don't think you need it 100%, and the shadow damage only applies to white attacks so it's not a huge deal anyway, whereas moving around faster gets you grinding more efficiently (and adds flexibility in high movement fights).

It's generally accepted that Desecration is extremely underwhelming, especially because it has been shown that glyph of SS and dropping all but your first PS IT from the rotation gives higher dps. Those points can be thrown in NoTD, and the extra in Necrosis IMO, and NoTD is a total necessity for any fight cranking our aoe damage, ie sapph. The cd period for AoTD is also cut in half, which is every or at least every other boss, depending on how fast your guild can clear naxx, and being able to sac the ghoul and resummon it comes in handy in a pinch.

I'll admit, i was a complete retard in that. I was so excited to get my boots i completely missed it. I have the enchant now.

Thank you for the replies! I'll respec again and get rid of AMZ, and i assume i can get rid of the 5 magic suppresion too? That'll free up enough points to get the wandering plague back to 3/3.

I use desecration because at fully talented its basically a 5% increase in total damage, since its 100% at that point (unless a boss is being kited of course, like grobbulus). My 3 main glyphs are PS, ghoul and DandD atm, but im dumping DD; a friend said to use it but i never use it on boss fights, and even then i'd probably be better served spending the time dropping a 8k+ SS into a bosses back, right?

    Thanks again!

Edit: instead of SS glyph, what about a death coil glyph? Only reason i say that is because in 3.1 the glyph is being changed to a 15% increase in damage, which is fairly substantial. Thoughts?

Yeah, definitely get those points back from Magic Suppression.

DnD is a threat ability, not worth the two runes when in a DPS rotation and lackluster at best even glyphed.

I'm not on top of how glyphs will be changed, but DC is definitely one of your runic dumps as Unholy so if you get a glyph to improve it I'd wager it can't be a bad thing :D

The change to 15% damage increase is proooobably why its sold out atm haha. I got rid of desecration entirely after reading some of the math over at elitist jerks. Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction.

Edit: Nvm. Even with revamped talents and a new rotation im not breaking 2200 on the 80 boss mannequin. /sigh. Has to be a gear issue.

weird question but.. how do Moonkins play?
I'm more curious about the whole feeling than an actual dps rotation tho. Asking so because I know how feral druids grind and I already tried it out for 65+ levels so I was feeling about a change of pace, wondering if Balance grind style could work for me.

I take you stay Moonkin form all time, pull with some spell/dot and just nuke as mobs come toward you? Roots to gain distance and never melee?

I tend to think of moonkins as really the RDM soloer of WoW. Use your bind (roots) and then stack all your spells (insect swarm, starlight, starfall etc) til your roots break, typhoon to gain a little distance, spam wrath when you have the bonus to cast time
and starlight to get that quick burst of initial damage. on tougher mobs reapplying roots is an easy thing to do, since you have both the spell and natures grasp to do it. i prefer Boomkin to Feral leveling just because its more fun running around as a huge owlbearman.

in instances you pretty much use starburst, hurricane & typhoon to deal damage to trash packs, normal solo spells on bosses.

Probably starfire before aggro > root > dots > wrath spam. Generally want to pull with your biggest spell as long as it's efficient. Should play like a mage without aoe pretty much, I mean... not really sure what you're asking I guess.

Eh, IS is more than a dot (lowers mob hit) so that gets used a lot, but I know some moonkins don't reapply Moonfire after an initial application unless soloing a hard mob, because they can't spare the GCD. I've heard of many who, between keeping IS and FF up and working their Starfire/Wrath eclipse cycles, don't have time to get Moonfires in there. I don't know if that's something that comes from gear or just part of the class, though this may change in 3.1 since FF will be lasting 5 minutes.

My biggest problem with a moonkin is that you're not a mage, so you're paying money to keep mana up (or you're killing slower to pace your mana to last you)

I don't know anything about boomkin levelling, but I have raided as a boomkin several times in wrath. Most people will use glyph of IS, which removes the lowered hit effect. Glyph of moonfire is also a very important. Keeping dots up is very important, and moonfire is more important than IS. Also depending on raid, you will need to keep IFF up for the spell hit bonus. If dots are up, spam wrath until an eclipse proc, then spam starfire until eclipse is over. Never reapply dots during eclipse. Immediately after eclipse, reapply dots and continue starfire spam until eclipse icd is up, then wrath again. This might change in 3.1 since they seem to be buffing wrath spam. Either way, playing boomkin is really easy.

My usual rotation on Moonkin right now is IS->MF->Starfire x3->IS, Repeat. If an Eclipse procs during Starfire, I'll spam Wrath until Eclipse wears off. Then I'll repeat the rotation until Eclipse is ready. I use a Starfire Glyph which allows me to not reapply MF after the SF x3.

This will work in 3.1, but atm its not the best DPS rotation.

The best DPS rotation is: Apply DoTs -> Spam Wrath until Eclipse. During Eclipse, spam only Starfire, let your DoTs fall. Reapply DoTs after Eclipse ends, and refresh them before the iCD on Eclipse comes back up.

What are the changes in 3.1? Didn't see anything significant other than FF being extended to 5 min so I'll look into the notes. So using Wrath to proc Eclipse is better than SF proc Eclipse?

Glyph of scourge strike jic you don't know what this does, because by the sound of it you don't. basically this means that you don't have to waste your time reapplying PS/IT every other rune rotation because they both do laughable damage, this also makes Desecration almost entirely pointless. I'm going to be honest here my IT/PS don't even break 4k damage combined when they both crit, I have some of the best gear you can get are you really going to tell people that its not a bad idea to not use this glyph?

you say that this is the best use of unholy talents out there, at best this is a cookie cutter DPS spec for some noob who just dinged 80, any dps in their right mind would never get unholy aura.
