If you're still in greens and win-traded tol barad for the pvp gear to meet the ilvl req for heroics you'll be lucky to do 5k.
If you've done your rep grind properly and spent your wotlk JP on item upgrades you'll easily top 10k.
To get your stone drakes you will want to be averaging more than that unless you're a tank.

Your baseline will vary depend on how much time you actually spent to become eligible for those heroic queues. Walmart players will drag any PUG down, hard.

I think either I got some misinformation, things have changed since I heard it, or I'm looking in the wrong place. People were going around saying you could get an epic one hander weapon from doing about 4 arena wins and within the first week, but looking at the conquest vendor the one hander I can pick up is double the amount I get from 4 arena wins. Was I told wrong, or have things been changed? I could be looking at the completely wrong vendor on top of that.

Mainhand weapons are 2 weeks, I think. Offhand weapons are only like 900 CP I think.

I was mostly wondering if it was linear or if there is diminishing return after a certain point. Tol Barad resistance trinket look awesome in theory, but I wanted to be sure I understood how it works before getting scammed.

400 resists, combined with the aura and divine protection pretty much make you immune to any elemental damages for 10sec every minute. It's situational to a few fight obviously, but it still kinda overpower to to survive a big attack.

I guess the resist doesnt stack since it's a buff and not gears resist, but it still is pretty strong to get a 70% damage mitgation every minute..

Just bought the trinket, going from 0 to 400 gives 40.xx% reduction. Will let you know how it works out vs fears and novas and whatnot. Also intend to use it for tanking a lot cuz the mastery is hawt.

Raids night tonight, I was staring at it 2min ago. Probably going to grab it, not like I have anything better to spend the badge on unless I want a big fat dragon that get stuck everywhere and melt in water (nothing is going to top halloween mount).


40%, I guess there is some diminishing return after a while since a linear projection was giving me 49%, but it's still pretty good. Does it stack with aura/king, or it stay at 400?

And yeah, mastery isn't bad, but other trinket offer more mitigation over time unless I'm getting a good use out of that 400 resists.

With resistance aura/totem + trinket use you'll get to 50% damage reduction. I'm using this trinket for a good while because mastery is stellar and on-use magic damage reduction is amazing, imo.

Yeah I haven't tested aura stacking with it and shit, but even if it were only the raw 40%, that's a 10 second magic shield wall every minute, which... yeah.

Yeah, but if it doesnt stack, it's only +15% damage reduction over what you get usually get in raid environment. Still not bad by any mean when combined with other defensive cooldown, but most trinkets increase parry/evasion by 12% (or mastery by a similar amount). That would place it ahead only for fight with heavy magic damage that can be anticipated.

About mastery vs dodge/parry, I can't speak for other class, but on paladin, it seem that you get the least damage mitigation out of it. It offer more stability over times, which has its benefit, but for a 1% increase in block (40% dmg reduction), I get 0.6% in parry/dodge. Because I'm still far from the cap, I'm not sure it's worth it to go all out on mastery.

Elitist Jerks used to have a very nice picture that listed "if you dont have this class+spec in your group, use this pet" and it listed them by priority and a separate list if you were BM. I can't find it anymore for the life of me though. I've been planning on drawing up one for myself though, just haven't gotten around to it. Off the top of my head, I have:

cat for agi/str buff
raptor for -armor debuff
dragonhawk for +magic damage
hyena for +bleed
wolf for +crit
ravager for +physical damage

and for bm i have a corehound, and silithid. I remember it also listing to get a shale spider for the +stamina buff, but meh.

ya technically though you can get one of each I listed above (16) and then each of the elites ( 8 ) for a total of 24, then 1 for fun!

So I think that's going to be my goal. Gonna take forever to lvl them all though...

Shale spiders make wonderful tank pets with the +5% to stats, but for raid or heroics a tenacity (and exotic) pet is just a waste, even if you spec it to be loldps.

I consider pets to be a buff/debuff bringer, rather than something I look at for personal dps. If it helps everyone else in the raid do more damage, then I'm sure it more than makes up what I lose by choosing a tenacity pet.
