I can't imagine a staff is ever worth using now a days.
Shes asleep and her armory has a fishing pole. Just some random heroic mainhand/offhand.
That was my impression
Well that's the problem but what we were going with as well. The staff is going to have more intellect than a blue mainhand, plus it has over 200 more spell power on equip. It's mastery though, not as much haste as the blues. Also, there really aren't many other options out there available to her. So how valuable is that extra spell power. With int to offhand they are pretty close stats-wise, so it ends up being use blue+blue or blue+purple forever or use a purple.
Personally I'd prefer the 20k at least I could probably get for it.
Kinda fucked up to be like "oh if nobody else needs it I'll take it" and then sell something.
But regardless once you factor in the offhand enchant it's reeeeeeeally hard for any staff to even remotely compete, especially for healers.
It was either take it or DE it. Taking it and selling it gets us 10-15 epic crystals instead of the one for DEing it.
Random archaeology question for you guys. Has anyone seen or heard if it is possible to get the troll sword and dwarf staff before being 85?
Im currently 73 and I dont want to have to stop and level at this point.
I don't know the answer to your question, but I know a friend of mine got from 80 to 84 literally entirely from archaeology, so maybe just stick with it regardless and you'll level if need be?
I'm only 73 on my mage but I want the staff. If I hit 85 from archaeology, it'll be a sad sight to see.
So I just hit 85 on my surv hunter. Is it safe to assume we are still gemming solely agi and ignoring set bonuses? also what's the priority on crit/haste/mastery now?
Wondering if I should remove 1 point in Cleansing waters and put it in Telluric Currents for Resto Shaman.
Assuming 0% hit, that sound worth it?
Depends on the bonuses. Some pieces have bonuses like +20 and +30 AGI which obviously you are going to want to get and there are actually certain time where even a 10 AGI bonus can be worth it. I had a point during my gearing up stage where Haste was almost as valuable to me as AGI and obviously hit can be the same way at lower gear levels.
As survival there really isn't a mark that your trying to reach although you'll want at least enough to take your cobra shot down to 1.66 or lower so you can fit three cobra shots in between each Explosive shot without clipping. The main thing though is that Crit, Mastery, and Haste have sort of a balance going, each time you get one of those stats the value of the other two increase while the value of the one you got decreases. That's not to say they are completely equal although Haste and Crit are pretty close most of the time with Mastery being less so unless you have a ton of crit and haste and very little mastery. A good place for checking stuff like this is Femaledwarf.com
bleh, ya I've used zeherah's dps thing before, that's just annoying 'cause it seems like a lot of the gear now will be exactly the same except 1 stat being switched (ie. a chest with 146 haste vs a chest with 146 crit with everything else the same). I guess I've gotta load up the page if that happens and just test it before needing on something. XD
2 versions in heroics, one from rep vendors and one from jp. Kind of lazy by blizz imo.it seems like a lot of the gear now will be exactly the same except 1 stat being switched (ie. a chest with 146 haste vs a chest with 146 crit with everything else the same)
Honestly, I see a lot of people doing telluric currents build (which does need points into elemental. You need 1 point into precision so your spirit can give you some hit) but I think it's situational. Then again, cleansing waters is purely PvP and just nice for heroic 5 mans. It's worthless for raids.
I'll be testing out a telluric currents build for next weeks raids but I don't even go oom so I don't see the point. Myself and the other main resto in my guild have looked over their logs and the shaman do absolutely horrid healing and all they do is pseudo DPS and plop down a healing rain while the priests/paladins heal everything. Major raid stacking, etc.
