I'll give you my view on it, I've been tanking none stop since September. That EJ post is correct however, but if you wanted a more personal "in experience" response:
If the fight is melee heavy, I will usually run in, skull a target, drop DnD, Outbreak, spread it, Blood Boil, Heart Strike and Death Strike, and rune strike whenever it's possible/tab a target to Rune Strike to get a bit more threat and go back to skull
I make liberal use of DRW and Blood Tap as well, as well as DRW+Blood Boil combo to get massive threat (I glyphed DRW). DRW is quite a nice cooldown as it ups your parry, and I can see it working for sure since I've added the Street Fighter 3 Parry Sound to my interface, so when I parry it makes that sound. When I use it on multi-mob fights it's like Daigo parrying Justin's Chun Li super

When in heroics, CC pulling becomes a must sometimes. Get used to Death Gripping the skulled target (marked by you or someone else, especially important if it's a caster/ranged) and laying down DnD in front of you as CCers step back, and then blood boil for that little bit more threat, and then begin Heart Striking/Outbreak.
You'll keep Blade Barrier up unconsiously anyway, it's something I personally never watch out for as I have never a Blood Rune free. Come next patch, spamming Death Strike will be fine due to the build up/stacking effect of it, but I also generally don't time it, because my Blood Shield will fall off in the next incoming attack anyway.
The only complaint I got was that I move around too much from my RL mate. So I guess, don't move around too much? I generally move around to either grab aggro or reposition myself so nothing is behind me and to avoid ground hazards, but I don't think I move around that much lol
