Single health pool is 100% irrelevant, it's still multi-target, which is the only thing even being debated as far as I can tell. I fail to see any difference between a fight with different health pools and a single health pool when in both cases, you have to get every health pool to 0.

It doesn't really matter what you said in regards to hunters, you tried to call me wrong when I'm in fact correct. the original question had to deal with what class tops meters, and I'm responding that hunters only do on single target fights, and do not on multi-target fights. 1 health pool or multiple, the benefit is in the fact that you can do more total DPS with more targets to have DoTs rolling on (or Bane of Havoc, or splash damage while DPSing 1 target). This is completely separate from # of health pools, as either way, you do do twice as much dot damage. Period.

Mages dominate Maloriak, Halfus, and Omnitron. They do good on Magmaw. They do not dominate the majority of fights. That is also ignoring that fact that mages are complete RNG at the moment and the numbers you see on state of DPS or WOL are when things actually go right.

Every class is RNG at the moment, especially when compared to the history of WoW - that's the design they went with in Cataclysm to try to make every class more engaging - watch for procs and react accordingly, as opposed to spam 11121112 while watching TV. I'm not going to get into a fight about who is more or less RNG, but those top parses are assuming things are going well for everyone, yes there are degrees of RNG, but everyone has some. Past all that, 3 fights is more than 2 still (and I'm fairly certain they are good on Sinestra making it 4). In any case, I don't think mages are overpowered or anything, just it's kinda silly to say hunters are dominating meters. Yea they do on a few fights - mages do on a few fights, locks/boomkin/spriests do on a lot of fights. I'd say those 5 classes are generally the "top", and anything else is mid-tier. If you wanted the most competitive class on the most # of fights though, I'd go with lock/boomkin/spriest personally.

You make a good arguement, I can agree with that. I will say though that RNG hurts mage a lot more than just about any other class right now, I've lost 6k DPS on Magmaw before just because of no Hot Streaks during his head phase (in turn no DoTs, which means no combustion, which means I can't use any cooldowns)

You can do that from the default UI, just go the keybind menu like you would for the other spells

The macro is /script SetRaidTarget("target", 8);

Mine are on one of my bars, but you can use the default ui to bind macro, or use something like bartender to link your key to a bar icon (or invisible macro bar).

so, tmobile had me reset my phone, which unfortunately had my mobile authenticator. can i re-download it, or am i fucked and forced to call blizzard to get a new authenticator attached before i can play again?

And yes, i know i'm fucking stupid for forgetting about my authenticator getting reset.

What's the best strat for dealing with sparks on al akir? And best way to spread the raid out in 10man?

We are DK tank, War DK melee, 3 heals, hunter elesham lock mage ranged. Right now we just spread out in a half circle, and are having a bit of trouble timing the sparks.

Right now we have cleared bot, with alakir and nef left. Is halfus heroic as easy and doable as people say it is?

Pretty sure it locks with your phone number, I was able to reset my iphone and redownload authenticator from itunes and have it working right away.

It does not lock with neither the phone nor the phone number. However, iTunes can restore shit from automatic backups, which is why it's probably worked for you.

You can re-download it regardless, but write down the serial number this time. Call Blizz up, explain to them what happened; they'll verify that it's your account, remove the authenticator for you. Then you just log in and attach the new one.

We had a single person in charge of marking & dpsing the sparks. When they judged they need help killing in time, they call on vent and everyone nukes the called spark. Also don't kill the first spark too early, as you can easily hold it until the 3rd spark spawns before you kill it, which will then give you a good timing buffer for later sparks.

For spreading out, we put 1 healer directly behind the tank, then 2 ranged dps on the left/right of that, the other 2 healers on the left/right of those with 1 dps, then the last 2 at the back of the dude. Phase 1 is pretty short, though, so it's not extremely structured placements, but rather a "don't be dumb and die" exercise.

Sounds like you are trying to spread in p2, which is pointless. Stack up in p2 with the spark tank to the side. As for halfus...I think normal nef is easier as is heroic atramedes. Nef isn't a hard fight at all, easier than chogall really.

Do tanks whore themselves out in your server? Pre-random finder fix I had seen and heard of tanks selling queue, but what about selling the whole instance? Hellscream is kinda backwater when it comes to everything but wondering if I should even bother >.>
