I just turned in nexus quests, a bubble and half off 77 with the murloc area left in BT, so I'll be into 77 when I leave.
I like basin a lot for leveling, especially on a class that can pull multiple mobs at once. I am mostly just worried since this is my first character that isn't on rested xp, but having gotten 7 levels over 2 zones and with +35% xp I should be able to get 3 levs in one.
I like leveling in Grizzly Hills for the music, and even though it's not quite as fast as other zones, I just love the music so I always go there.
The mobs in dragonblight are much lower level and have less HP/etc, so shit just dies much much faster. Overall, you'll gain exp faster on lower-level mobs, since green-difficulty quests still give full xp.
blizz pulling the fight for the undercity questline from the game killed dragonblight for me, tbh. That was always the incentive to grind out that place.
At 77 you can also solo most of the elite group quests in dragonblight, of which there are many, and those give about as much exp as a dungeon quest. It's really no contest for me between continuing in dragonblight at +5 levels or 'skipping' to sholazar.
Fact. I was so disappointed about that quest being gone. And after you get the Wrathgate event done Alexstrazsa (sp?) whispers to you and tells you to come over to her like there's some other quest afterward but there's nothing. I was super confused about that until I looked it up on wowhead.
I have no idea why they removed it. I get that Northrend is a time warp, but it isn't like UC wasn't phased for the whole thing anyway.
Been doing Loremaster in Eastern Kingdoms lately and so far Sylvanas has made a cameo in pretty much every single zone, so yeah. I'm pretty sure if I go back to UC in the middle of those quests she'd be in town where she belongs so yeah.
Battle for Undercity was terrible. You just afk'd and followed the npc around for 15 minutes. Boring.
on the alliance side of that quest it was pretty bad right before they took it out. The music and story was fine, but the initial worm boss would just pick you up and toss you over and over again since you were more often than not solo and therefore the only valid target of the ability. Not very fun.
It's one of those things where I'm sure they would have devoted development time to if they thought it was worth doing over the other stuff they wanted done to org/UC for cata. I don't realy miss it since it was such a timesink.
Heroic 10m Atramedes:
When Atramedes flies and targets someone and begins chasing them with a beam, occasionally he hits them directly with the beam right away, giving the target zero kiting time. Is there some sort of trick we can reliably use to ensure the first target gets at least 4-5 seconds of kite time?
With just a few seconds of guaranteed kite time, we have more than enough sprints that we only need 1 gong per air phase, and when people aren't too busy being terrible, we only need 1 gong per ground phase. That would give us a LOT of time to kill the boss.
Unfortunately it seems like 20% of the time we lose someone to an instabeam, or we have to punch the gong early enough that a sprint isn't enough to outlast the beam after gonging.
When he goes up into fly mode, have everyone spread out and just keep running. It always targets someone right ontop of them so it's more or less up to the person. We have life grip rotations and everything set so we don't have to click the gong too early.
Yeah people are moving constantly, just sometimes they get hit 2x despite that.
Our priests are too bad to use life grip. Seriously. Never ever ever see them use that button. I'd replace them if we had better people. We have 2 druids to rotate for sprint on the gongs (we also have a rogue but also bad, can't give him any responsibility) and the duration of the phase is short enough that as long as we don't have to hit it immediately, sprint is sufficient.
edit: I think the real problem is that the morons still can't follow simple placement/movement instructions in p1, so it's pretty frustrating only getting to the air phase 1 in 3 attempts.
Having good priests that know how to lifegrip is so useful.. that fight and AC hardmode especially. Also, good priests know when to lifegrip someone outa a hazard if they're either stupid or dc'd too.
But yeah, I dunno that's really all I can say about Atramedes. That's what we do, and I think people usually get one tick at most of the damage.
Anyone else having Firefox crash while trying to load Mmochampion front page today?
Which makes no sense honestly, because then again in Northrend we see the LK is still alive, yet you did quests in the starter area for UC where they talk about killing the LK. The entire "lolore" is so convoluted now that anyone trying to follow it for srsness will have their skull rupture.
