Ugh, thanks Blizz for further encouraging BG botting.

5 classes left:
Hunter
Priest
Warlock
Mage
Shaman
I have a RAF'd friend. Assuming he gets to 60 in the next 5 weeks, and I can rush up one of the above jobs to 30 to take advantage of level gifts, and the above classes I would level only as a profession mule/bank, which class takes least skill to play, or put it another way, which class would I benefit from in terms of losing the least knowledge/skill required to play them between 30-60? If you get what I mean.
I'd say Hunter > Mage > Warlock > Priest > Shaman but all can pretty easily 1-3 button mash to 85 easily enough. Hell till they nerfed Arcane to hell, leveling as that was so easy. Queue for dungeon, spam arcane blast, ???, Profit
I've never done warlock but shaman is pretty easy to catch up unless you're doing enhance.
Edit: going from Melena's list that is.
Hunter for sure
Prieeeeest))
Cheers guys. I'll go look up a little more stuff and then make up my mind overall =)
My explosive trap is getting majorly resisted; only doing 29dmg/tick. Has anyone heard if this is a bug? ALL the other traps are doing full damage. I've used explosive on hundreds of different heroic mobs and like 5% has ever worked correctly.
My guild is a bit behind the times, as we just got our raid group set about 3 weeks ago. We're 9/12 now, but having trouble on Al'Akir. Our main problem right now is getting through phase 2 in a timely fashion, due in large part to not being able to get a good system worked out for killing stormlings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our group is Paladin tank, Shammy + Paladin + Druid healers, and Mage + Hunter + Lock + DKx2 + Rogue DPS.
Stack your group on one side and the tank away from the group but close enough to get the nature resist buff, when P2 comes let 2 adds spawn, and whent he 3rd is about to come (at about 8-5 seconds left on the spawn timer) kill the first one, when buff is at 50% kill second one, buff at 50% again, kill the third one, and the 4th one should spawn more or less as the other is dying, your mileage may vary depending on how good your dps are.
And its probably better if your hunter stays full time on the boss; agian, depending on how good your dps are, losing a stack might as well just wipe it.
Mage/Paladin/Rogue can bubble to clear rain thingie stacks, clearing it at about 10 stacks should be good on your healers.
Are you looking at ticks beyond the first? I know the initial tick didn't scale properly (or rather, at all) when I still played. The mobs in heroics shouldn't have any magic resistance thou, and 'missed' traps/ticks (which can still happen if you're ranged hit capped, since traps are still on the spell hit table for some god forsaken reason) should do no damage rather than partial damage, so if there's a bug fucking up your damage, it's probably not related to resists.
is assassination rogue really this boring, or am I doing something wrong?
Mutilate unless less than 35% hp
Put up slice 'n dice and refresh duration with envenom before it drops off. keep up rupture. vanish every 3 minutes to reapply garrote/overkill?
just feels like the exact opposite of what blizz went for with keeping an eye out for talent procs to use. it also feels like i'm waiting around a lot for energy to regenerate
oh and should I spec into improved expose armor? guess I would if i raided without a prot warrior
LFD is allowing me to queue for heroics but I seriously question whether I have the gear for it. What do you need as a tank or healer to swing it? Obviously ditching greens is a goal but could take a while and may be determinately overkill.
I'm a druid, in case it makes a difference. Armory has me in bear gear and spec right now. Last I checked my tree gear put me at about 82k mana, 5100sp, and I think like 1300 combat regen.
Well in-combat regen for druids is a bit skewed. You'll have replenish rolling so make sure to stack INT where you can, gems/chants/foods/flasks etc. The mana is fine and so is the spell power really. It's all about team work anyway so your heals won't be the single issue based on those numbers.
Yeah, I definitely wasn't having mana issues in HoO normal yesterday, but it was normal, so I wasn't sure if heroic would super skew it xP
That'll depend on how many "baddies" (is that what we call them now? based on the other thread) you get hooked up with that:
(in heroic)
1st boss - won't move from blue flame/tank won't pick up snakes
2nd boss - (omega guy) - won't move from void patches/lasers
3rd boss - (raj) - won't come in close during the recharge phase
82k mana is pretty low, you must be at the bare minimum of gear. Really you should have only 1 or 2 greens max by the time you're doing heroics.
Looking at your spec, you're ok but you should spec 3/3 moonglow instead of 3/3 furor, it's mathematically better. Without seeing your gear I can't tell you whether your stat weightings / gems / enchants are proper.
You should be healing by keeping 3x LB on tank, rejuv on tank, swiftmend and WG on cooldown when they would be useful. Otherwise spam nourish / healing touch; never cast RG without a clearcast. Innervate and treeform whenever they are up and would be useful. Even just spending 30 seconds in treeform healing everything with LB and clearcasts is a big mana saver.
Yeah, I was going to make sure and log out in tree gear tonight so I could get a good import for treecalcs/askmrrobot. I figured that was low just by looking at raid geared healers, which is why I didn't even attempt the heroics with it
I'd write up a gearset in chardev or something but I can't remember what all the parts are called. I have woefully few gems, can't even activate meta without blowing a good socket bonus. Nothing is enchanted either, not gonna enchant lower than 333 (maybe 346).
I'm not positive, but I think my stat weights are something like Int=1, Spi=.9, sp=.85, haste=.76, mastery=.75, crit=.5; I didn't really do them up with any particular intelligence, just tried to order them based on what I know about the stats' individual usefulness so I could be lazy as I leveled and see at a glance if any quest rewards were upgrades (<3 the Pawn addon). I'm sure they'll need adjustment now that I'm actually at 85 and getting into some respectable gear.
Stat weightings / spreadsheets aren't the end-all be-all for healers. Resto druid priority for everything except 25-man raiding is:
1) 916 haste
2) Int > Spirit > Mastery > Haste > Crit
(For 25-man raiding, it is 2005 haste)
You really should bother to gem/enchant/reforge your crappy stuff, even if you use ghetto enchants. Gold is stupidly easy to come by.
Also, activate your meta. It's worth way more than any socket bonus.
