Gorillas put out less TPS then devilsaur on single target and their only advantage is thunderstomp which is being given to all tenacity pets, not to mention volley pulls off the gorilla without misdirect pre-70. DPS pet > Tenacity pet for leveling, pre northrend you do a lot of single target mobs as well.

At 80 I understand raptor is better for surv but for BM pre-80 I thought rex and spirit beast were on top.

I tested this again on dummy, even left it on for 5 min each for consistency's sake. both unbuffed, raptor still > devilsaur though not so big difference w/o buff

Pretty interesting. Maybe I'll pick up a different pet for leveling 61-70 with afterall. Then i'll prob go gorilla if I beat 3.1

I think they're planning to add another tier of pet talents for BM incentive, since the extra 4 points tend to go to waste at the moment. Ideally we'll see a difference at that point.

    Edit: Sure enough- http://ptr.wowhead.com/?petcalc=ch

@ work at the moment, and have two questions that I'm unable to look up answers on via other sites. First, I'm a mage, and picked up the heroic badge trinket Egg of something-something for the extra SP over a month ago. It's the healer one that periodically grants an added affect of gaining haste, which is triggered by healing spells. Oddly, I've gotten it to proc a couple of times in the last week. I think that it was proccing when I used Lifebloom, but can't recall for certain. I guess that would kinda make sense, since Lifebloom is technically a HoT. Can anyone confirm if that is working as intended, or it it's a bug?

Second, on 25m Heigan last night, I was repeatedly getting hit with a debuff that increased my casting time by 300%. First time that I had seen myself get hit with it. Any idea what that was?

If you're too close to him he gives you the debuff. Stand against the wall or tell your tank to pull it away.

The Egg of Mortal Essence - Item - World of Warcraft

The Egg of Mortal Essence procs off of hot ticks, makes it quite a nice trinket in combination with the strong main stat (98 sp). I think it's 10% proc, 45s ICD or so. However, it only works on healing spells and hot ticks. For offensive spells, you will need the Maexxna version (Embrace of the Spider).

As it stands, Egg is probably one of the top 5 trinkets for druid healers atm. A wild growth virtually guarantees a proc if the ICD is up.

The Egg of Mortal Essence is bugged to proc on Arcane Missiles. It's a very good pre-raiding trinket for Arcane mages.

This behaviour is fixed on the PTR, so don't count on the bug sticking around.

Ok I'm asking this for the 2nd time, sorry, but last time the 2 answers I got I didn't really get to reply to and when I look back at them they are missing some key talents.

My druid is 70, almost 71, I'm leveling as Feral.

I want to have some Tank talents as well so I can tank an instance or 2 on the way to 80, and to learn to bear tank. I leveled this druid to 50, then it was leveled for me to 68, so I don't have any knowledge of tanking on druid. In fact, I'm kind of relearning fighting as druid since when I leveled it to 50, I did it multiboxing and this wasn't my main character I was controlling. I know when I get multiple mobs to pop into bear que maul and spam swipe, or berserk and mangle + enrage whatever.

But still, looking for an efficient spec to level 70-80 as cat, with talents that enable me to tank a couple instances (I guess at least for quests) on the way to 80. I want to beat 3.1 to get 80, and I know doing any instances outside of a few quests will slow me down and I could just l2tank at 80, but it makes the grind easier having a change of pace now and then.

Any help is appreciated, Norellicus posted 2 hybrids last time, but norellicus was missing predatory instincts, and gulks had a few pvp talents, both I thought would hamper me.

I'm assuming glyphs of rake/maul since I don't really shred much.

Edit: I'm kinda bored and a little high on pain meds from surgery, so I put together this spec real quick since I didn't have Naturalist in my current spec. Mainly just a cat spec for now, next talent OOC then maxing infectedwounds/imp mangle until someone helps me out with that hybrid thing. I dont know why I specced certain things looking back, but blaming it on the meds works: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZEGMccbz0eocuzio0E

OoC > Berserk by a long shot.

Most optimum solo build at 70 imo is Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft and then picking up Berserk and going back for the other tanking talents if you want to tank (if you plan to do more than OT you're going to have to respec out of Predatory Instinct to make sure you can fit the rest of the core tanking ones).

You won't be FBing often so RnT won't be much good to you except while tanking, and our TPS is pretty good on the way up regardless, so it's not a big deal; Shredding Attacks is definitely more a raid dps talent (though the cheaper Lacerate doesn't hurt); KotJ...I guess you could take it, free 60 energy every 60sec, but eh. I took Thick Hide because you get the bonus even in Cat, which helps reduce damage taken. ILotP means you can grind endlessly, I never have to stop and heal now with that and Lifeblood.

You should be able to tank instances fine with this spec, and can even get Survival Instinct early if you want an oh shit button (handy for the occasional bad pull when soloing as well as when things get rough tanking).

They're already predownloading 3.1 as of this past tuesday though...I get the feeling it's coming sooner than later. Why are you trying to beat 3.1 to 80 anyhow?

Nothing wrong with FFB, especially for lesser geared people.

Arcane is superior at low levels of gear, and TtW Fireball is better at higher gear levels, but FFB is always "OK." TtW fireball really doesn't pull very far ahead until you're seriously geared, and arcane's mana issues are a bitch at low gear levels if you're not with groups that kill stuff fast enough for it not to matter. 5+ minute patch etc fights as arcane fucking suck.

Gonna OT in ulduar probably. I figure it takes 1-2weeks to get 80 so I should make it, about 72 now.

edit: not looking for optimum solo builds I was looking for something than could do both tank instances for the xp and kill as kitty while leveling to 80.

You can do that fine with my build really. Although soloing is easy, so if you want to weave in some real tanking between solo modes then get all the bear talents on the way up and ignore the cat ones: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZxGGscr0ceocczGZbA0z

Again, picking up Berserk at 71.

Infected wounds and king of the jungle should not be overlooked for leveling specs. They're far better than feral aggression and RnT/berserk by far for leveling up due to decreased damage taken/faster energy used for burst. RnT is pretty useless for FB since by the time you get 5 combo points, the monster is dead.

Aye, I'd rather have IW early myself, that earlier build was just designed to maximize damage output with no direct regard for input. The last one I posted has IW since it does benefit solo and tanking quite well.

Ok ty for the advice I played with it a bit, compared your spec to my current and my sister made one, as well as one i found on another forum. Pretty much took your build and took PI over IW, and King of the jungle over Natural reaction. My next 6 levels points will go into Natural reaction/IW - thanks.

At any level of gear Arcane is superior to FFB, the only reason to use FFB would be a guild Scorch bitch in a guild without someone geared enough for TTW Fireball. If your in heroics, mana is a non issue, if your in raids, the buffs make mana a non issue. Hell for heroics being able to bust out 7k DPS on a boss in greens beats FFB's 2k.
