.....HUH?!?
if you can't tell, that's a mouse with a skull helmet and two double-barrel shotguns. It goes around shooting other nearby critters. You guys ever see this shit?
iirc there are also gophers in combat helmets up there
I've never levelled a tauren so I've never seen that shit before. Did they add it for cata or has it always been up there?
And bunnies get axes.
I have a question.
Thinking of starting WoW and was wondering if I should just start with the basic WoW and buy expansions as I hit level cap
or just to buy all of the expansions at one time and start from there?
If you're short on money, just get basic WoW, it's good for Lv1-60, Burning crusade 60-70, lich king 70-80, and cata 80-85.
But definitely get authenticator along with whatever WoW package you gonna buy.
I personally did the trial account and leveled up a bunch of chars to cap (20). Bought the whole bc to cata package once I decided I was gonna stick it out. Gave me a chance to level up each of the different races and experience their starting zones.
Thanks all for the help!
I've done a trial Wow before and really liked it but was sticking with FFXI for a long while. However, with most of my friends from FFXI quitting and me being busy with school a lot of the time, I think I just want to pick up something for casual play.
WoW is very good for casual play. Probably the reason I'm enjoying it atm. Even endgame there's quite a bit of content that can keep you occupied before you hit the "must raid to progress" wall.
Once you have a set schedule in which you must log on, you've gone beyond casual. Which is fine, I raid myself. But it's not casual.
WoW is incredibly fun to play and level alts, before you max out and dedicate to only one character. Just doing the quests on both horde and alliance is worth the price tag, grinding aside; well not the tbc quests that shit is outdated as fuck now.
The only warning I'd give to brand-spanking-new WoW players is that they have made 1-60, 70-85 levelling a smooth, relatively enjoyable experience, and the Dungeon Finder/pvp queueing system provide excellent breaks in the monotony.
Unfortunately the 60-70 grind is awful by comparison, it now being the oldest levelling content in WoW. It's the time you're going to badly wish you were in a talkative, enjoyable guild because there is nothing more isolating than an empty Outland with a long grind till northrend.
Yeh definitely buy only one game to start off with. I had a friend who wanted to play with me and insisted on getting all the games. After I slapped a bit of reality in him did he only buy the initial game. 6 weeks later and he's only level 27, not because it's hard or anything, but I warned him that he probably won't play that much. That and/or he's demotivated because I won't play with him, but I suggested to him levelling is so easy that if he wants to play with me just allocate 1.5 hours a night to the game and he'll be 81 no prob by a month (because at 81 I can at least group up with him in dungeon finder). I didn't feel like really levelling another char for him though which is semi my fault, but I knew he won't play much or at all so I took the right decision there =p
Regarding a schedule going beyond casual, does it still count as casual if people fail to show up 1 night of the week for 2 hours to raid? Haha! My guild is really going to shits as people won't come on to raid last night. Only 5 came on. Not sure what's making people bored, we downed Cho'gall last week, I hope they didn't see it as "I done everything cata has to offer! I'm done." lol
That reminds me, gonna see if I can hunt for a BoT pug tonight.
As far as a particular server, does it really matter which one I choose?
Are there any that are better for newer players?
I know that's probably a silly question.
Yes and no. Between 1-85, it doesnt really matter. Price will fluactuate and everything, but it's not a big deal. If you're planning to raid however, you will want one that has a large population generally.
Based on comments I see all the time, some server can pug almost all the contents while other are far behind. Same deal with guild.
