Do you have a paladin in the group? If so make him make a bop macro to the first person whos tanking and make them have a cancel aura macro and it will drop the stacks so one tank can tank all the way to 9-10 and then bop and hes good to go again

Using a 3rd tank will make the load much easier on your healers at the start of the fight until you outgear it. Have your non-Halfus tank taking 2 drakes, have whelps on one of the Halfus tanks such that you have them killed or almost killed by the time he has to taunt Halfus, and then once those whelps are down you can split time warden between the Halfus tanks. The other 4 dps will have to be outstanding to make sure you meet the enrage timer though. Having a mage who's good at combustion spreading will help a lot with getting whelps down quickly. Cleaving/aoeing everything together once time warden is out should let you get Halfus down to 55%-60% by the time the remainder of the drakes start dying. If meeting the enrage is still an issue, you can leave slate dragon down to save some time. This will make sub-50% healing more intense because you won't get any stuns during roar, but as long as you top everyone off, tanks rotate CDs, and shadow novas get interrupted, this should be manageable compared to the start of the fight.
If you don't have a 3rd tank, then just take advantage of bubbles as often as possible to clear MS stacks and hope your dps is good enough to get whelps+drakes down before your healers run out of mana. Save a bres in case you have one of the tanks get unlucky with mortal stacks and you can't clear it (11-12 stacks without a bubble to clear them will almost certainly mean that tank's going to die).
@Odon
That's what I'm doing. Getting 10 stack, I pop divine shield. The other tanks taunt it off around 6 stack, I used HoP on him.
@Quicklet
I guess we will try with a 3rd tank next attempt. We could get a dk instead of a second warlock, but he isnt perfectly geared.
Warrior druid.
Does anyone use the latest version of ElvUI?
I've spent the last few hours trying to find out how I turn off the huge red scrolling text in the middle of my screen when I take damage, no one I know in game uses it and there is definitely no way of configuring it via in-game customizer and the creator locked the technical support thread and doesn't have any fixes in the FAQ, and I have looked through all 25 pages of threads.
When was the last update to the UI? Try googling a fix for it. It might be something in the config file for the addon? Is it a UI like Tukui where it's all integrated into a single lua file or did you install the addons from a folder into yours? If it's the later you can just try to figure out which addon is doing it by slowly disabling any that have to do with combat one at a time.
Deffo try with 3 tanks, we 1 shot it yesterday with 2 alt tanks(I was one and never tanked it before) and 2 trial healers.
also burn heroism the moment the whelps and first dragon are active, nuke like fuck.
also q from me: Been leveling DK as blood in dungeons but it's boring now, is frost the best spec for questing/blowing up tons of mobs at one time with little downtime?
What is the rest of the rain comp? When is shit hitting the fan for you guys?
Couple things, AoE damage should NOT be a priority, UNLOAD on the first kill target dragon. The faster that dies, easier the fight gets. Mark all the Drakes before the pull or set a kill order. For example we Kill Storm Rider > Nether > Time > (Whelps die to random AoE&Cleave) > Burn Halfus. Unlocking Slate should not be needed. I would still recommend 2 tanking, 3 healing, 5 DPS.
What does "the pull" look like for you guys? It sounds like MS stacks are getting high very fast and I have a hunch to as why. I have an idea that worked amazing for us when we got our first kill undergeared with 2 tanks, seeing as you have a Mage. Just lemme know the rest of the raid comp and how halfus is pulled, who is tanking what etc please.
Druid have a lot more evade/parry than paladin for sure (especially with everything changed to mastery)
Been a revolving door for the last few weeks, but yesterday was:Originally Posted by Cri

The shaman changed to healer after a bit since thing went out of hands too fast. Half of our attempted were with 3 drakes up (interupt, speed buff, and fireball), and we tried a few times with whelps (they werent dying fast enough, and nerfing the fireball seemed to help).
The pulls started with me pulling halfus and Nether, while the other tanks got Storm and Time Warden. At 9 Stack, I was popping some cooldown, reseting them at 11-12 stack. Then we swapped around 7-8 stacks (I only kept 1 dragon on me after the change until the other tank get a few stack as well). I was using HoP on the other tank at 8-9 as well. The first drake would usually dies soon after that, but healer had little to mana left. The one time we managed to trade aggro again, I went up to little 10 stack before they wore off on the other tank, and we wiped right after.
Warrior pulls nether, rogue trix halfus to warrior, you BoP him at 8-9, while you pick storm, whelps and time. (can try with just 2 drakes). The switch with him when he's at 4-5 stacks and you grab halfus to 9 then divine shield, and he grabs from you at 4-5.
A drak should be dead or near death by the time you get halfus for the first time, else your dps are doing it wrong.
When I pulled halfus, I was running to the door while the rogue tricked the drake on me. I understand what you're saying, but I think changing this opponing would save myself a lot of stack (unless you're kiting halfus longer somehow?)
Probably thatelse your dps are doing it wrong
What worked amazing for us to get our first kill while being undergeared was have the Mage pull Halfus and tank it for a bit with Mirror images. Then have the pally tank taunt halfus off and tank Nether+Halfus. Leave the WAR on Storm Rider+Whelps. Gather everything together. Tranq, raid CDs, bloodlust etc, burn down Storm Rider ASAP. Bubble yourself when stacks get too high and have the WAR taunt @ 6stacks. BoP him at 6. Keep taunting back and forth @ 6 stacks assuming the debuff falls off. We call our taunts, so I know to taunt the non focus drake off him etc. Make sure you have a range DPS pop Time, when Storm Rider is close to dying or dead. Have everybody watch their feet and it should be smooth sailing from here on out.
edit: the purpose of having the Mage Mirror image tank Halfus was to insure all the debuff were placed on him, to delay the stack build up on the initial tank. Now we just MD Halfus to the Nether Drake area (tank), but while being undergeared this seemed to help healers very much.
Mirror image seem like a good idea to buy 10 more seconds, it might be enough to get over the rough part of the fight.
How are you interupting halfus when the mirror image are tanking? Shaman?
