Alright, I'll go rewatch the vids but unfortunately I cannot judge from the vids compared to in-game of how far I need to actually move. In-game, if I move too little I get shouted at. If I move too much, I get shouted at. It seems as they are focusing on dpsing/healing me, but my focus is getting the adds out of the flame.
It's hard to see the mark when the adds are stacked on it, so run as far as you need to make sure its landing away from the skeleton. You can always bring them back closer if you ran too far (when there is a long delay between fire at least. near the end, you're constantly moving).

Typically, if I start on the right side, I will be at the top or a little more when they reset for the first time. The second time they fall, I will be on my way toward the middle of the room. The third times is a little more messy, but it usually happen after a complete half circle

Neferian dps, tanks and healer shouldnt worry about you. As long you stay in your half, they won't have to worry about the fire or adds.

Kaylia: As you said you move at the 2s timer, I moved, backwards, none strafe, at 0.5, hence that was too slow/late and I was bathing in flame anyway. Will see this Sunday
0.5 seconds is probably too short imo. The timer isn't perfectly accurate in this fight, and you want to be running when Neferian fires the projectile. 1 sec is probably fine.

Does Nef always shoot Shadowblaze at the adds? That's what it felt like but I wasn't incredibly sure.
Yes. It picks a random target everytimes.

Be particularly careful when half the adds are reseted, you don't want to be separated from a few dead adds by the fires. The best way to deal this situation is to make sure the next fire lands on top of the dead adds to pick them up right away.

Also, so 2 resets is reasonable, and 3 is hard/impossible? I just chatted to one guy now and told him of my respec plan (because I lose nothing of importance by respeccing into desecration, for this fight) and he does not seem to understand that after 2 resets it should be fine just slowing them and buying time while Nef is finished off.
The last reset usually come when nef is about to dies. If the first two were done sucesfully, it's not really an issue. I've managed to survives once with only 1 reset at the beginning. I died at the very end, but it's definitively doable.

Cheers Kaylia, I'll bring the info to guild. Thanks for the massive help guys!

Also found this video to be the most helpful so far, what do you think? Any improvements required? I will try to copy him:

Can I ask what class is tanking Nef? Because to be perfectly honest you would be more suited to tanking Nef than the adds. A Warrior or Pally would be able to handle the adds a little better than we would. Now I'm not saying that it's impossible to do as a DK, I just think it would be much better for you to tank Nef assuming the person tanking Nef now has a shield. For a DK if you have Mirror of Broken Images (with AMS) you'll never be without a cooldown for crackles making us one of the better choices for tanking Nef. Maybe talk your guild into swapping you out with the other tank for Nef? Again I'm not going to say it's impossible for a DK to kite adds, but it's really not a good idea since you're constantly moving. How often can you Death Strike while kiting the adds?
The other tank is a Paladin, and a bit dopy if I had an opinion on him lol. Don't worry, I play all 3 tank classes (I don't consider turning into a bear a tank, no offense to Norec or any other bear tanks, haha. I just can't take it seriously, I crack up laughing) and I do think a Paladin hammering away and holy wrathing + throwing shield to be a better choice (combined with Seal of Insight there's no resource problem barring a 3 second cool down on hammer) on the undead, and Holy Wrath stun can buy some good uptime towards the end. And as you said, combined with a shield = even less overall damage.

I can death strike very often but I'm normally occupied with making sure the healer doesn't peel adds off me, on top of moving properly. At the moment it's my lack of practice preventing me from doing better.

I'm also the only one to have the Mirror trinket.

Will try to talk with Guild about the swap but it's too unlikely. But worth a shot.

Yeah, holy wrath stun is perfect for that part. Their stack increase every time they hit you, so the more stun you get off, the less damages you takes. It can also save your life during a cackle if thing get messy.

Paladin can also glyph divine protection to get 50% magic reduction every minutes. Combined with ardent defender and GotAK (3min each). you will be able to every single cackle. You will also have a WoG ready every times (for another 25-40k hp healed as cackle hit). I don't know DKL cooldown very well, but this part was too easy on paladin once you get the kiting done properly.

Also, the video was fine. I thought he was standing dangerously close to the fire early, , but other than that, the movement was fine. I would recommand against keeping nef in the middle though. While it can get a little more hectic for the adds tank near the ends if you only uses half the arena, not having to coordinate both team is going to help tremendously.

    [edit]
However, just send the better tank on the adds. It's not hard, but you dont want to wipe 3-4 mores time to p3 while he learns to do it properly.

The guy holding/kiting the skellies is actually a Feral druid who respec'd especially for the task because the Ret. Paladin in question is unable to kite them. As a result we overall lose 8k DPS. He can usually pump out 15-18k dps as a chicken, but as cat/bear he is doing 8-11k.

Our 10 man varies due to people randomly coming, but we often just about get 10.

    Me (DK)
    2x Priest - 1 dps, 1 healer
    2x Shaman - 1 dps, 1 healer
    1x Druid
    1x Mage
3x Paladin - 1 ret, the other tank, the other is a healer

We have 2 inactive hunters, an undergeared Druid healer, and a good Warrior but doesn't always show, on the wet bench.

Why isn't that mage handling p1 adds?

She does, to an extent. The way I hear over vent and see them doing it is the bear rounds up the adds, and the priests shackle some of the adds and the mages freezes some of them using Ring of Frost, to buy time until they all die in the designated spot.

    Does that make sense? =/

Easiest way to do it is get the mage specced into frost, have them kite the adds in p2, its a slight loss of dps, but hell its better than having a moonkin speccing into bear for 50 seconds of the fight. Frost have so many cds for slowing and ultimately rooting them that its trivial. Your best bet would be having a frost dk specced into chillblains to kite them, but again mage can do this job so easily its silly.

When I first read the strategies I don't see why they didn't do that. Or they don't trust her (DPS wise it's fine but again not very bright in my opinion).

One thing I could suggest is the bear properly specs into a bear tank, and I go DPS (offspec is PvP'd Spec'd Frost) and round up the adds with Howling Blast and take them to a corner + Blood Presence + Icebound + Pillar of Frost + Death Strike spam and continue to DPS on Phase 1 2 and 3 while he picks up the adds. Since it appears that during phase 3 there's little to no movement on Nef depending on positioning I can easily dump out 15k dps with my current gear.

This is what we do in our 10man except no shackle, instead I use HC on them since i'm the frost DK that's rounding them up, then mage puts down DF around them so soon as HC wears off they are frozen again. It's really nice.

Wondering what to do with Justice/Valor for my fresh 85 resto sham.

I leveled it to heal arenas, not to pve, but I may pve it on it a little. With the patch being soon, and items going from valor to justice we need to spend our valor points now. I was going to convert my valor points to conquest and get the pvp weapon, but after that I'm not sure what to do or what to spend JP on. Originally I was converting JP to honor as well so I could at least get a few wins in arenas.

Find a pair of valor boot that nobody is selling on the AH. Put it for 8k instead of the usual 3-4k.

Use that money toward a better pieces of gears when 4.2 come out.

You would be surprised. I sold 3 pair at 8k over the last 3 weeks. I thought the first one was a fluke since people were spamming trade chat, but the other 2 sold again within 48 hours of the first posts.

Yeah I don't need money so this conversation is pointless. Just gonna spend the JP on honor gear for arenas, and cap it again before patch. Use Valor for CP until I get weapon, then on idk what. It feels like a waste buying valor items when they'll be avail for jp.

    Player vs. Player
    Gladiator Weapons
    • Season 10 Conquest Point weapons will only be purchasable once a required minimum sum of Conquest Points has been reached during the current season. For example, Ruthless Gladiator's Pike costs 3400 Conquest Points to purchase. However, players must first earn a total of 11650 Conquest Points during Season 10 before they are able to purchase it.
    • Season 9 Honor Point weapons will only be purchasable once a required minimum sum of Honor Points has been reached during the current season. For example, Vicious Gladiator's Pike costs 3400 Honor Points to purchase. However, players must first earn a total of 18500 Honor Points during Season 10 before they are able to purchase it.
    • Once the minimum sum of points required to purchase weapons is reached, all available weapons can be purchased for their listed costs. The point requirement is not reset once a purchase is made.
    • Weapon tooltips from the vendor will let players know how many more Conquest or Honor Points must be earned in the current season before the item can be purchased.

So how long does everyone expect 4.2 to keep them busy for? any takers?

I say 2 months at max before people get tired of dailies/firelands.

Its going to take about 2 months of daily quests to unlock the entirity of the firelands quest & rewards area.
