With all the crit nerfs in 3.1, FFB will be absolutely terrible in Ulduar.
My previous point was, even with slightly altered rotations, Arcane still out-DPS's FFB by a significant margin. Face it, FFB is a dead spec.

The "battle-plan" he's discussing here, rather he realizes it or not, is to drain all of your mana between evocate/gems. This is accomplished by:Originally Posted by EternityEnd
Which is what I was talking about. I'm just pointing it out as the most obvious example of sitting there trying to give advice for low gear levels in slow killing groups based on optimal gear sets and extremely fast kills.Originally Posted by EternityEnd
You really don't have 550 spirit fully buffed? I know you're not skipping out on 4 piece t7 if you're running fire, so I don't see how you can possibly be below 550 with raid buffs, which means it's a buff for you.And FFB getting better in Ulduar? They are nerfing Rune of Razorice and Molten Armor so no, arcane will be the one and only spec unless frost becomes good somehow. Sad because I'm only 1 piece away from BIS Fireball gear too.
Living bomb glyph is sexy as hell also. Not to mention you're much more likely to be able to skip improved scorch, which makes fire/ffb even sexier.
FFB still scales better with gear than Arcane btw... at some point that alone will put it back on par for raw dps in anything 3 mins ish or longer, and depending on mana issues may easily put it ahead.
I've done everything I've stated in slow kill groups, it's extremely viable. I'm somewhat confused by the level of gear we're talking about, though.
I did this upon dinging 80 in Heroics, and 10 mans. What did I have for gear? Instance and heroic blues, mostly. Are you seriously saying that someone with less gear than that would be trying Sarth 1D? Really? Who are you, Aurik?
The gear level you should be talking about would be quest greens and blues, and then basic heroic gear once I've had a chance to do those, considering this all stemmed from advice given to me.
tbh I shall just spec both FFB and arcane once 3.1 arrives, and see which I get better results with
I actually am pretty sure I don't have 550 Spirit fully buffed. Fireball scales better with gear then FFB, so when we see FFB coming ahead of Arcane, it won't matter because everyone will be Fireball. Plus Rune of Razorice is a straight 5% damage nerf to FFB that doesn't affect Fireball or Arcane.
random question!

For anyone that uses ag_unitframes, how can i disable buffs? Whenever I get a clickable buff I always have to go into my elk buff bars options, turn on the blizz buff frame, take it off, and then remove the blizz frame! Hopefully I'm not seeing something in the unitframes that lets me cancel buffs.
type /aguf config > go to the modules tab > uncheck "auras"
Quick question, where should i be going enchant wise with a shadow priest, ive just dinged 78 and at 80 ill have hat of wintry doom, ebonweave gloves & body, and probably a few more pieces of gear to get hit capped, but what enchants barring sp should i put on it? and is the tailoring back enchant worth doing over anything else in that slot?
r-click the buff in the elk buff list.
Is it worth it to gem 3x 16 hit to fit in Forge Ember instead of Mark of the War Prisoner?
Also, debating Heroes' Frostfire Robe vs. Heigan's Putrid Vestments. Heroes' robe gives me 4-pc bonus (have Valorous hands/shoulders and Heroes' Legs).
The two are somewhat related as the lack of hit on Heroes' robes basically guarantees use of Mark over Ember, whereas I can make Ember valid with Heigan's if I gem 3x 16 hit.
Rawr is giving me a little better 'score' with Heigan's + Ember, but gemming hit in any significant amount just feels like fail.

Rate my gear again! I know head/shoulders/cape/idol need to go (and are insulting my bodypiece), been joining runs like 10/25 OS in a pug and hoping my things will drop but no such luck q q.
Another question, how well do you guys find druid healers at healing heroics? is it easier getting a priest ? Sometimes I get annoyed when many people in a pug heroic take damage at the same time (as in more damage than I can heal at one time), and need a direct heal (like gundrak boss) and I just can't do it, shits me hard, I throw out tranquility or Wild Growth (AoE HoT) while people have their lifeblooms/rejuvs/regrowths etc and sometimes it's still not cutting it, reallllllly annoying.
On the other hand I've noticed my role in a raid is a gigantic joke, so far all I've been doing is throwing out hots on main tank / off tank , and if other people take damage I sometimes throw them a rejuv, I'm guessing it only gets really busy when it's less than 10 man at a raid and I'm one of two healers or something? (Last few raids I was one of three, the two priests were going nuts healing everyone to full instantly, which amazed me and kind of the reason I made this post in regards to healer types).
Well, I noticed with heroics, having a druid healer can either make or break your run, just based on the AoE. I have had both bad and good experiences...I think it comes down to you have to anticipate how much dmg the or other pt members will take, throw out your HoTs...Don't take it forI'm just a lolPaladin and Warlock

healing in HCs is such a different experience everytime you step into one... you really cant understand how properly you're doing your job since both the DPSes and the tank can either make or break any run (as you can).
you can't properly heal an undergeared tank...
you cant properly manage your mana when all DPSes grab aggro and are constantly hit...
you can't save people when they dont know much of a boss and take massive damages.
you cant defeat bosses if DPS is so low the fight lasts so long your mana ends up drained.
So i really stop worrying about "people dies, healer faults" and just make sure I have the proper stats for the HC or raid i'm joining.
Looking good, time to start enchanting your stuff.
Head: get the 30SP/8mp5 enchant. Item budget spent on resilience is a waste, especially for PvE.
Shoulders: keep working that Hodir rep
Back: hit rating is a bad stat for resto. Try to get Jedoga's Cape or Moorabi's Cape etc. Enchant with 15 or 23 haste
Body: That body really deserves better gems. I think later you'd probably want to replace the spirit gem with the SP/spirit split gem rather than pure spirit in the blue slot. The red slot, go ahead and put in a runed scarlet ruby--it should only take 30 minutes to gather enough herbs to pay off the gem. Enchant for this should be 8 stats, 10 stats, or possibly mp5. Since it's basically best-in-slot until 3.1, I'd go with 8 stats immediately and think about getting +10 stats once the rest of your stuff has enchants.
Wrist: grab a 23sp enchant on this. Also think about replacing the blue gem when you have some spare cash.
Gloves: Beautiful. Perfect. You'll only be replacing these with your t7.1 gloves (for the set bonus)
Belt: I'd replace this piece next using badge gears (cost of 40 badges -- I'd go for the Elegant Temple belt) considering that you already have a really strong piece for gloves. The only really outstanding heroic purple for resto is from Gal'darah in Gundrak -- Sash of Blood Removal (and that one overspends on the relatively weak haste stat as well). Once you have a purple belt, throw an Eternal Belt Buckle and an additional Runed gem in it.
Legs: awesome, perfect, you won't replace these until you get a 213 leg drop at the least. Leather resto legs are really weak right now so don't be afraid to roll on cloth armor in this slot.
Feet: throw a +18 spirit enchant or if you're feeling wealthy, a runspeed enchant.
Rings: nice, these are hard slots to upgrade
Trinks: While it's got good spirit, the troll talisman underperforms on a druid, as most of our direct spells are kinda weak. I would much rather go with the Spark of Life, which provides double the mana regen through its proc.
Weapon: throw a 50sp enchant on this baby, it's a great weapon and will last you a while.
Idol: yep, grab the badge vendor one, or do a few dailies and pick up the idol of pure thoughts in grizzly hills.
Especially in heroics, each healer type has their strengths and weaknesses. Priests are basically the purest healer class the game has at the moment--2 of their 3 specs are healing-focused--so naturally they have really good tools for most encounters. Their most glaring weakness is the lack of poison cleanse. Poison is a really common mechanic and tends to really cripple the afflicted people. Trees get a fire-and-forget 8 second (soon to be 12) cleanse. Our hots are also much much better than Renew; they last longer and heal stronger. So we have our upsides.Another question, how well do you guys find druid healers at healing heroics? is it easier getting a priest ? Sometimes I get annoyed when many people in a pug heroic take damage at the same time (as in more damage than I can heal at one time), and need a direct heal (like gundrak boss) and I just can't do it, shits me hard, I throw out tranquility or Wild Growth (AoE HoT) while people have their lifeblooms/rejuvs/regrowths etc and sometimes it's still not cutting it, reallllllly annoying.
I notice in your spec you are not spending points in Nature's Grace--dropping your 3 points in Tranquil Spirit for this talent will help you immensely with direct healing. Regrowth currently has a 60-65% crit rate; use this as your "go-to" direct heal, and over half of your Regrowths will benefit from a 0.5s casting time reduction. I would also drop the 2 points in empowered touch, because you should only be casting HT at most once every 2 minutes when NS is up. If you can harvest 2 more points (usually I steal 2 from Living Seed because it's underwhelming in 3.0) you can spec into 3/3 Celestial Focus for the haste, which will further help you get things under control when shit hits the fan.
That said, dps should not be taking more than the isolated hit in heroics. Don't worry too much about instantly healing them full if there isn't a mechanic that is threatening to instagib them--just pop on a rejuv/lifebloom and return your focus to the tank. If you have spare gcds and mana, you can pre-hot melee that you anticipate taking damage as well.
Which particular gundrak boss is giving you problems?
3 healers for a good naxx is a little overkill. When the healers all have lots of mana, heal-sniping goes on. But, you have to remember that healing is a team effort. If everyone stays healthy, then the healing team "wins" as a whole, regardless of what the meters say about who healed the most. If the priests are snapping up all the heals, just keep hots rolling on the tanks and focus on decursing and depoisoning. Be ready to give away your innervate for a caster dps. Throw up moonfire. That said, grab recount and watch the effective heal meters, you might be surprised. By nature of how we heal, druids rise to the top really easily (which is why we're getting nerfed!), even though this statistic isn't very meaningful due to the nature of healing as a whole.
So i just started a new warrior lvl 26 and i bought it the Bloodied Arcanite Reaper - Item - World of Warcraft to replace Arced War Axe - Item - World of Warcraft. Seems good and all since at my lvl it is .50 slower 38 more topend 4 more dps ,and the only downside seems to be 2 less str for now. Then i noticed the weirdest thing Rend started doing half dmg with my new axe which didnt make any sense to me since rend tooltip shows it increases dmg based on weapon dmg. The tooltip changed changed from 163 extra damage to 83 with reaper and i cant seem to figure out why.
Anyone here that has experience with warriors that can help me figure out why this happened?
