Interesting, I always heard BM was the worst DPS spec. Nice to know it got recent buffs

Really on the BM part? I had always thought it was the lowest of the 3. I say this because there's been a huge thread on our applicant section of my guild about a hunter who is BM currently and how "omg they need to switch to survival/MM". Personally I think you should play w/e the fuck you enjoy since you're paying the bill each month. The hunter in question is doing really well regardless, and out dpsing some of the complainers which I find hilarious.
Not enough info to say. Are you still predominantly running 5-mans? Then don't expect spectacular dps unless you synergize your AP/crit% buffs with another class that provides physical DPS buffs your way. If you're running 10-mans then your spec matters a hell of a lot more since you'll be in charge of filling in the buff your raid might not otherwise have (Ferocious Inspiration, Hunting Party, Trueshot Aura), and improving RDPS is more important than personal DPS. In 25-man you're generally not the only one in the raid who can provide Haste/AP/%damage buffs so you want to run the highest personal DPS spec, which is best answered by spreadsheets or the tools at femaledwarf.
We need to train one of our hunters to kite Nefarian10 p1 adds, but the only video guide I found was for a frost mage.
Anybody have such a resource, including spec/pet advice?
So is the hunter actually kiting or just misdirecting onto a stam/armor-specced turtle in one spot?
between shell shield and cower, and a glyphed mend pet, I would think the turtle would be fine just chilling in a corner. you're looking at 12.8k ish mend pet ticks, plus 40-50% dmg reduction at almost all times if the hunter is skilled, plus you aren't losing the hunter's dmg completely, as he could focus on nef/ony. Even if he has to kite it, he can order the pet around with his pet bar while his character auto shots the boss. it's not much but at least you're getting some dps out of him.
I use my DK in raids now, so i haven't done nef on my hunter yet, so take it with a grain of salt, but unless the adds are hitting 40k+ each, I just don't see that turtle going down with that many buffs it has.
Turtle doesn't kite, just gets misdirected and beastmodes it. We still root the adds when they spawn to save damage but w/e that thing can take 6 at once in a pinch.
I find I do better as BM. Femaledwarf is showing 17215.58 DPS as BM, and 15527.65 as Survival with my gear. Survival has the obvious advantage on aoe, but anything where your pet is able to be on the boss full time(every fight) it should edge survival out single target. MM should be the highest of the three, I just hate playing it.
Yup, BM does higher single target than SV. SV right now is just ezmode spec, easy rotation, not bad DPS. However, BM is just not very effective because of the current raid mechanism, especially hard modes.
Hit cap question:
I'm an arcane mage.
Yesterday I got a piece of gear that put my hit at 17.02, gemmed with 20 INT + 20 Mastery activated the latent on the gear that brings hit up +10 - to 17.12
Now my options here are to just spec that piece with a 40 INT gem and go back down to 17.02, but that brings my mastery just below the threshold and I'll lose 1% of the bonus to mastery.
Should I just sit on the 17.12 overage on hit cap for the extra 1% of damage from mastery, or go down to 17.02% and take the extra 20+ INT from a new gem.
Sidenote: I've tried reforging around and no matter what I do it takes my hit at least down .11
If you want to see my toon on Mr. Robot it's Shibazzle on Bonechewer. Thanks.
Take the +40INT gem. Especially as arcane, never go for socket bonus unless that bonus is +20INT or higher.
EDIT: Side note, hit cap is less important to arcane than other mage specs. With how much stronger INT is relative to secondary stats, and somewhat poor itemization this tier, it's really common for arcane to be pushing their max DPS when around 15.5-16% hit. My ilvl359 mage is a 16.75%, and I would have no problem going lower if it meant a solid upgrade to INT.
Awesome, thanks for that
Uh? Didn't the orcs turned red when they were drinking mannoroth blood in WC3?Q: Why do blood elves still have green eyes?
A: Corruption from fel energies takes a long time to wear off. It's why most orcs are still green even though Mannoroth is dead.
Red orcs are natural bloods, greens are corrupted
Is it worthwhile to stockpile truegolds at 600g/per before the patch? surely they'll skyrocket and turn a profit?
Also, at 4.2 will Heroic bosses still give 70JP each? But less VP for completing?
I've been stockpiling truegold and volatile fires.
Have like 20 TG and 400 fires. There is rarely more than a page of TG on the AH, so it will definitely be worth it. Worst comes to worse, you break even. Fires will definitely jump in price.
same as boyiee. stocking both those. I would wait a bit to start selling, people wont have access to the recipes for a while until they unlock the vendor for them.
I've been reading guides about the new dailies in hyjal....are you able to do them yet, or not until 4.2? I've done all the quests in hyjal and couldn't find the quest on the warchief board like the guide had recommended so I'm assuming its not released yet or I'm just glitched lol.
