My guild kept failing 2 tanking Baleroc 10m. Then we swapped to 1 tank and did it first try. Never had any problems since we switched over. We found it overly complicated with the 2nd tank.

Pretty sure most people consider the 2 tank method to be harder now (though it was popular the first week). In addition to it being slower, by the end of the fight it makes the fire blades significantly more deadly. If you're having trouble with a 1tank strategy, your healers are doing something wrong. The simplest/easiest way to solve this with 3 healers is as follows:
2 healers are "normal" healers. They alternate constantly, 1 is healing the tank, 1 is healing the shard target.
The 3rd healer is a decimation healer only. He stacks his buff until a decimation blade starts, then switches off and heals until decimation ends, then goes back to stacking until the next decimation blade.
The key to 1 tanking, in a 3healer setup, is there should be 2 healers on the tank during decimation, and past that if you do as I said above, you'll have one with a shit-ton of stacks to help heal it much faster. If there's still problems, tell your healers to pre-cast/cancel (and realize absorbs[PWS] do work on decimation, just -dmg don't work).
Our group has never had a problem with fire blades, just decimation. And generally only early in the fight, ie before stacks have been built up. Sounds like it would vary a lot on your comp, we have zero paladins for LoH in the raid and our 3-heal comp is druid shaman shaman.
We switch healer assignments when specials happen rather than on crystals though, so we always have 2 healers on the tanks during the specials, which is important early.
We'll probably move to one-tanking when trying heroic for the extra dps. We'll have to take a look at the "deci healer" strat then.
It was the other way around for us. We were told a single tank would work better, but I kept getting insta jibbed until we switched back to two tanks. It went fine after
A healer dedicated to decimation blade sound like a good idea, and might have made a difference. It's worth a try I guess.
So for the 1 tank method with a dedicated Decimation healer, do the decimation healer and the rotating other healers often cure the same shard target? If so, that would probably simply things by letting us sit someone until closer to 15 stacks instead of working out a rotation for every 10 stacks like we did last night.
PS-> Thanks for all the tips so far. I'm feeling pretty confident that making one of these small changes (along with having our beast Holy Pally back) will make this guy go down pretty easily when we get back in there after the reset.
Should be looking at rotating at 12-13 stacks, so 2 people per torment crystal. More if the class has a reduction ability (dispersion eg), for extra stacks.

However, not sure if you are raiding or what is your raid comp, but I always find that silencing shot/trueshot aura have very little use in raid, since most raid have pally might, and interupts are usually assigned to 5 sec CD classes like shammy and rogue. I'd invest in bombardment/concussive barrage for aoe, with at least 1 rapid killing/2 recuperate talent. This is very useful for fights like bethilac, or even solo trash farming, I could solo an entire side of spiderlings @bethilac by myself in 25man raid with concussive barrage spec.
It's not that simple. Kill shot is a vastly overrated glyph for MM, but Kill, Chim, and RF are all valid choices, and what's best depends on your stats slightly. I think at higher gear levels, Chimera is technically the highest DPS for that 3rd slot for MM.
Fairly certain atm, heroic is close to impossible without 1tank 2heal. You also rely on a bit of luck/rng to get a kill in 10man. Much better balanced fight for 25 (which has a higher dps req, but is not a huge pain / rng-fest on the healing department). Assuming a tank can do ~14k dps, you're looking at 180k raid dps required...with 7dps that's nearly ~25.5 per. With 6 dps (3 heals), that's 30k dps per. While 30k DPS is doable if all your DPS are top notch (I did 30.3 I think on our last normal mode kill), it's pretty unlikely in general. So sadly, this strat isn't too useful for heroic afaik...but familiarizing with 1tank may still be a first step in that direction...Oh, if you 2tank 2heal heroic, and assuming like 14k+10k DPS for the 2 tanks (one has some vengeance issues unless it's a warrior as the OT), you still need ~27k DPS per person, which is a little more doable, and may be an alternative. In any case, you need to 2heal though (at least a tank is a 1/3rd to 1/2 an extra DPS).
Well, this is how pugs I know of kill it (with relative ease). 1 tank, 3 heal...2 heals rotate the entire fight, 1 healer stacks the entire fight except for decimation blade. You'll see a death every now and then with semi high stacks on shard + decimation blade together (since only 1 healer on shard dps at that point), but it's pretty easy overall.
Recently got my Warrior alt to 85 which I'll probably be doing quite a bit of tanking on. We're looking to start alt Firelands runs next week so I'm in the process of getting my shit together. Are there any recommended mods that will make Warrior life a little easier? Basically just looking for class specific stuff, I already have the standard mods from raiding on my Mage (DBM, Omen, etc).
best way to deal with a mage in pvp? had one fucking around outside org and i just couldnt put him down on my DK. id get frozen for what seemed like forever and have to sit there and slowly die. 1 DG isnt enough to keep him in range. I don't ever pvp, so i was kind of hoping to burst him down.
1v1 versus a mage is never going to go well.
Dinged 85 the other day.
Feedback?
Pounding out dailies/dungeons for factions. Trying to get a head piece with a meta in it.
Also, I've always read that dual-wielders operate in frost mode whereas unholy is for 2-handers. So while doing a random heroic, someone sends me a tell saying I was using the wrong one. Am I missing something?
DW frost uses unholy presence. Make your next upgrade licence to slay, nice little hit trinket so you can stop reforging away your haste for it, since haste is our best secondary stat after hit/expertise are capped. Other than that you're doing just fine. Here's my armory if you want a kind of guide. I don't claim to be the best around but hopefully my gear can give you an idea what to shoot for.

OK, cool. Thank you.
I have very little knowledge of warlocks, but; any reason why our lock is doing less damage dpsing fragments on the rhyolith fight than our rogue whos on rhyo's legs fulltime? I would think damage done would be far higher for someone doing add duty. or am i wrong?
edit: this is with a wipe at 20 stack armor on rhyolith still, not a kill.
What spec is he running? Our lock runs Demo for that fight, and basically pisses all over the fragments to the point where we were able to move an extra DPS to the legs to make the whole fight faster.
