I am currently 81 on my 1st character, Feral/Balance Druid. I have Herbalism at 463 and skinning at 491. These have been some really good professions for leveling my 1st character, as I haven't had really any money problems. Now I want to drop one of them so that I can level up Alchemy. I have been collecting flowers to use in leveling alchemy so I can start out faster. I wanted to hear a few suggestions on what one to drop. I assume people will tell me to keep herbalism so I can farm most of my own mats but it seems like I am making much more money from skinning and could just turn around and buy my alchemy mats with gold left over.
I have just been in Hyjal for a few hours now, Are the cataclysm herbs much different? Will it change to where I can make more money off of herbalism?
The advantage to having herb at the ready in cata zones is you can farm volatile life, which is used to make the flasks that are the primary source of money making with alchemy. The issues with herbalism come from people farming in the same zone, whereas skinning you just go out and kill shit. I dont like to play the AH, and I have all prof maxed between my toons so I just farm my mats when I need something done, if anything I do go and buy volatile life out of the AH to make flasks, because getting herb bags from valor points is faster for me than going out to farm.
From what I've seen the money making for a newcomer in the gathering market is in the low level mats nobody cant be arse to farm like herbs or skins, like the wrath zone ones or TBC, also herbs can be used both for alchemy and inscription.
skins sell slower on average vs herbs. So, factor that in. I sell about 4x as many herbs on auction than I do skins. plus, the volatiles as Tajin said are incredibly lucrative.
Thanks guys to my guild question:
I will login regularly because I've busy buying more tabs and filling it up with mats/junk for future use, and I occasionally go on to level it up anyway as a profession whore.
Ya that is my bank alt. I don't (even though now most of them I know in RL lol through out friends) trust the other people on my main. I hate sharing =p
Not sure if this asked but for my trash farming friends:
Since it's tuesday, can I extend raid lockout and go farm trash and then just turn it off after I'm done and be back to my regular Tuesday reset raid?
yep
Who's ready to kill deathwing and take a congratulatory trip to china?
So what's the point of playing 2h Frost Dk pvp over DW frost? DW seems to do far more damage on a single target, and can spec into Hand of Doom and still AoE snare with HB spam. I'm just trying to figure out why most TSG comps run 2h Frost instead of DW
Also can frost DK's still solo trash that can drop items? D:

Blizzard just trademarked a very interesting "Mists of Pandaria".
Update - For the record, the international codes 009 and 041 only seems to appear on Blizzard's online games trademarks. This isn't a book or anything like that. It appears incredibly likely based on previous trademarks obtained by Blizzard that this is the next expansion.
That sound like a terrible expansion idea. I mean, we still have the burning legion, the infinite dragonflight, a few old gods, the emerald nightmare....I don't want to go to panda land.
Oh, I totally want to go to Pandaland. Not to mention, the idea of being able to be a pandamen or even the idea of them adding a 'monk' class would be epic, imo.
If they did add a monk class I wonder how it'd play. I'm sure it would at least have damage/tank trees. Maybe a 3-way class that heals with chakra of some sorts. That would seem a bit redundant though.
I would love to see some new classes, but I kinda feel like that ain't happening. They've had so much difficulty balancing the current classes that I doubt they'd want to add another one. More races is always a good thing though!
What is the easiest way for me to get heirlooms to level a 2nd character?
You can buy heirloom from
-guild vendor if the guild is lv10 and 20 (back and head)
-justice vendor (body/shoulder: 2000jp, weapon 2500-3500jp)
-pvp vendor has some shoulder and weapon as well
-5%xp ring from the fishing tournament in dalaran (forget that, pain in the ass).
Basically, farm jp, it's the only way to go to get most pieces, and buy the rest from guild vendor.
