Rogues can disarm Shannox's traps in or out of stealth, but it puts a long debuff on them preventing the rogue from disarming anything for a while. You can clean up the errant immo trap between riplimb and shannox. I generally stop disarming once one of the dogs is dead.
If I que for za/zg with guild mates can I still receive the tank satchel, or does it need to be with all random members?
You must solo queue for the satchel.
My specs: Bear and Cat Druid
I currently have two Jin'do verdict, one with windwalk and one with 130agi. I just had a witch hunter harvester made. I can't decide if I wanted to use it for cat or bear atm. If I were to put the 130agi on the witch hunter, would that be better than the verdict that has windwalk?
So for bear: Jin'do verdict with windwalk, or witch hunter with 130agi?
Which do you play more?
So my GF made an ally and wants me to play with her, haven't played WoW in a bit and was thinking DK. How are they doing DPS/tanking wise? Also why are all the male ally races fugly.
I pretty much play them both equally.
Just to break it down into a question and have less to do with my opinion on what set I play or like more.
For a bear druid what is better?
Jin'do Verdict with windwalk
or
Witch Hunter with 130agi
Edit: I'm going to go with 130agi and use it for bear and cat.
Mangina is the only way to wow.
DK tanks are pretty awful, nobody wants them, most intelligent people don't want to play them. Frost DKs are near the top as far as DPS goes, except for the fact they are melee, which means they suck and are a less than ideal use of a raid slot. But if you need a melee, frost DK or rogue is the way to go!
on the contrary, no. they're not that awful. when our warrior disconnected for rag last night, our dk offtank had to take him the whole time+scions. he did fine.
don't let him bring you down stig.![]()
DK tanks are not only not awful, logs have shown them taking considerably less damage than equally geared tanks of another class, if you include DS healing. Not every DK tank is good enough to show those kinds of numbers, but the few that are good, just ask their healers what they think.
hehe it's fine, I just love using that emoticon (it's so cute!), and I found it appropiate. I don't directly take any class insults, doesn't bother me. Too much effort to get annoyed by it.
EDIT: What's the duration of temp ban (just incase if I do) for indirectly calling someone a retard? Some guy was shouting stupidly in trade chat, I went to tell guild to "add (name_of_retard) into the "Retard List"" ; but did it in /say instead, only to find him actually next to me lol. A whisper came from him in bad spelling "REPORTED U 4 HARSMENT ENJOY UR TEMP BAN", I replied "lol" but he ignored me already.
That way if I do get banned I can lay out some plans to do other things =p
Which is an entirely irrelevant statistic. Don't get me wrong, a DK can tank anything the game. Anything in the game can also be killed by your entire raid not equipping trinkets - it doesn't make it not awful/bad/dumb/insertnegativeadjective.
It is significantly easier to heal a tank that takes 40k DPS at exactly 40k dmg per second than one who takes 80k DPS for 10 seconds followed by 0 for 10 seconds. The problem with DKs is there will be times when all you can say is "oh, i just got bursted down". That just doesn't happen with a pally tank. Furthermore, no healer OOMs healing a tank, if a healer is OOM, it's due to raid damage almost without fail.
All that being said, they still have their niche where they are even preferred to other classes (rather have a DK than a warrior on H-Baleroc), and person>class is still true the vast majority of the time. Don't worry, my main is a hunter which is also a weaker class in the grand scheme of things (though I do extremely well on meters and WoL rankings) in the current game.
If you're ever using the argument "we did it just fine with XYZ" to prove anything other than it's possible with XYZ, you are logically not actually making an argument as to what's good, bad, best, or worst, it's all relative (opportunity cost), and DKs are "bad" because you could bring a paladin and do better. There's a reason paladins are on the chopping block to get nerfed, and DKs are receiving a buff come 4.3.
Re:bans
I don't think Blizzard cares about that, you won't get a temp ban. I've said much worse, been threatened many times, and never once had anything happen to my account. Unless you're just spamming trade with profanities nonstop, I think you're fine.
The only reason DKs should ever take unreasonable burst is if they are managing DS and CDs poorly, and I also have to argue that hunters are one of the strongest classes right now, they have sick DPS and are simply amazing at many side roles, such as Beth adds, smashing rageface, and cloudbursting h Rag.
Beth adds hunters are good at. Rageface I disagree 100% with, a hunter loses a shitton of DPS doing that, and is in my opinion one of the worst choices you can make, Arcane mage being probably the best. I can't comment on cloudburst on Rag, we just saw P4 for the first time last night, but currently I am not the one that will be doing it (partly due to the fact in our raid, I am our top DPS).
Hunter isn't in an awful position (at least it's not melee DPS), but mage warlock shaman are all higher DPS hands down (without a legendary, and have access to a ridiculous legendary)...DK and rogue both beat hunter on a fight where movement is required and melee isn't penalized (Shannox). Boomkin is the king of utility DPS (does Beth fine, is so huge on H-Rag, can do Baleroc shards, does better in air on Alys, and does better at meteors on Alys), with Shadowpriest probably being 2nd (dispersion, mass dispel, better at Rageface than a hunter too, good in air on Alys), both of which have some ridiculous passive reduction options (20% if they want it).
As for DKs, mathematically they take higher burst, period. This has nothing to do with cooldown or DS use, it's just the state of the game. I'm not sure what you're even arguing at the moment. Can a good DK make it manageable and kill anything in the game? Yes. Will a lower ilvl paladin that understands what they are doing be easier to heal and have more better cds, including a raid wall? YES. DK is not ideal, period. If you have a good DK and a bad paladin that stands in fire, take the DK by all means. Clear the tier, because you most definitely can. But trying to argue it's better than a prot paladin seems silly...
Well at least you gave my guild a good laugh, thanks for that. I'm not going to bother arguing with you anymore though.
