Be careful buying time cards for in-game gold since they are one of the things that scammers can buy (along with pets/mounts from the blizzard shop) with credit cards, flip for quick cash/gold then reverse charges for the cards/pets/mounts. This causes blizzard to invalidate the codes and the con is complete.

If you have master looter and state no loot rules can you do whatever you want regardless of group opinion? As far as what's warnable/punishable by Blizzard.

Based on most GM conversations I've seen yeah, if the openly declared loot rules are "there are no loot rules" then Blizzard can't do a thing about it. You're implicitly agreeing to whatever rules are established by the raid leader.

The way you say openly declared makes it seem like the ML actually has to say "there are no rules", so just to be clear if they assigned themselves ML, and said absoletely nothing, then did something the group said was BS is it warnable? It seems super abusable if not ( since everyone basically expects ML to be set to avoid non class correct ninja lotting).

In that case it depends on the GM, but the less information there was discussed IN-GAME the less likely the GMs will intervene.

Typically, Blizzard will only take action if the loot rules were announced, and I'm fine with that. It's very easy to ask in the raid chat if nothing was said, and it's only fair for everyone to do so.

Personally, I make sure to state the rules when I start a raid (usually when I give out vent info), and the rare time I forgot, I was more than happy to clarify them when someone asked.

Blizzard will only enforce what's openly stated in raid chat. Otherwise yea, you are agreeing to ML by being in the raid. MAYBE if the RL switches on ML at 5% on a boss you could make an argument against them since you didn't actually join a ML'd raid and then fight the boss, but otherwise this seems pretty set in stone.

It's just easier to ask here than waste GM time like last time I reported someone for scamming and they were like 'if you aren't the ML your opinion doesn't matter and if you got screwed by an inattentive/irresponsible ML that's too bad'.
If no rules are said I assume no rules, so why would I ask what they are?
Anyway if you guys don't think they will do anything no point reporting it.
It makes sense in a way. Going against something you explicitly said you were going to do in-game is more easily detectable by GMs, but it's still shady of the person running the raid to expect everyone knows there are rules when he didn't say there are any, and it sucks that he won't get the strike he deserves for being irresponsible. It also helps me feel better about my guild inviting pugs to FL and not making sure to explain the rules to them clearly b/c I honestly feel kind of shitty when they do that but if you're allowed then whatever I guess.

Yeah, it's basically an implicit agreement by the raid members that they trust the raid leader's actions and decisions, since they always have the option of not joining the raid. If nothing was said in game and no evidence of deliberate deception can be found, Blizzard won't touch it.

Really depends on what GM you get.

Friend of mine joined a pug BH with open rolls, won a piece of gear fair and square that he could legitimately use, then sold it on the spot to another guy in the raid who really wanted it. Someone called for a GM and...he didn't get banned. But, the raid leader (who also happened to be in our guild) got banned.

So basically if you're trying to screw people over, sometimes you will get punished and sometimes you won't. If you were screwed over, sometimes calling a GM will help and sometimes it won't.

In the end, regardless what Blizzard will punish, it's still shitty to fuck people over, is hella shady, and will get you a bad rep on your server, so I wouldn't try to abuse it...but yea.

Are you sure the raid leader never said anything to the effect of "need > greed" or anything? Because if so, he ended up going against his own rules, kinda?

Nope it was free rolls if you can equip item, which is generally how pug bhs go around here.

How much of a wait time is typical for DPS's in the dungeon finder? I just queued as DPS at around 11PM PST and couldn't find anything in 15 minutes. So I swapped to my Pally and got a group within 10 seconds. This was in the 20s, so it's obviously not the most popular range, but what's it like for DPS at higher levels?

Depends. It used to be up to a 45 minute wait. But I have been seeing it go to about 15-20 minutes lately. Tanks have instant queues so if you have a class that can tank just queue as that

Low level, I don't know since I rarely do any dungeon, but typically tank get insta queue, healer is very fast (1-2min) and dps is anywhere between 15min and 1 hour depending of multiples factor. You can check the average wait time by putting the cursor on the random dungeon icon on the minimap

What exactly happened at Blizzcon causing the community to rage and bleed out of their ass?

Something something a band who's pro-horde flinging shit at alliance, that's all I get/see. The comments don't seem that bad either. But it doesn't seem like a big deal with me. Totally within "game-rules", afterall the 2 factions are supposed to hate each other in or out of game? lol
