In terms of enjoable mechanics / amusement / overall feeling, what ranged class would you suggest to level pre-MoP?
HUNTER, I really like how mobile it feels, running and shooting and grinding. Seems to me the class becomes very boring after a while (20-40), or it gets better later on? I'm curious about traps and various shots, for ex.
WARLOCK, really seems versatile and full of tricks, which is something that really inspires me. Looks it's about to become even more interesting in MoP, maybe?
ELE SHAMAN, felt very "cumbersome" and boring when I tried it. Standing still and shooting, mostly.
MAGE, things could had changed since it was just a single spell-spam class, hadn't they? Also, I get it has its own pet now?
BALANCE DRUID, I tried the spec around lv65 during LK at it felt incredibly stationary and boring, in what shape is it now?
I've always liked warlock because its a mana class that doesn't worry as much about its mana bar, its almost like not having one. It's also somewhat forgiving to movement.
I try very hard to get into hunter, but come back to hating it. Same with mage. Ele sham I couldn't stand and balance I couldn't either (but that was before the buffs.)
Honestly I only really like lock/spriest at this point.
Oh true, forgot Shadow Priest as well.
Tho in my newbie eyes I always looked at it like the "retrilol" spec of Priest, the one you really struggle hard to make it work, and that always feel a little behind. But the again, I'm completely clueless on priest.
Shadow priest are one of the best dps classes in the game (fire mage are slightly ahead), and they have some very useful CD (hymn, disperse). There is nothing lol worthy about them atm.
I'm currently having tons of mana issues leveling my Shadow Priest in dungeons, running OOM about every 5 pulls (3-5 mobs every pull). SW: P just sucks up so much mana if I apply it on all the mobs. And a lack of AoE until 74 makes doing dungeons kinda boring IMO (I have Warlock and Mage in the 50s).
Granted, I'm only 41 right now, but I imagine even with 2/2 on Masochism, mana would still be very tight (I already have Glyph of Spirit Tap). I actually go Discipline while soloing because of how mana efficient Penance is.
This is what I look at when I think of planning for mists:
No more playing a 1 role class.
Playing warlock, mage, and rogue, it gets boring playing only one role. While I probably will NEVER use that second role on some other classes, having the option is nice, and not seeing loot get DE'd would be nice.
It gets better at higher level it's nowhere near the mana starving level say an aff lock would get, if you do the rotation right, only replenishment+shadowfiend would sustain you just fine. You also later on will get, dispersion and mana hymn, which also a mana recovery tool for priest.
Also at lv85, T12 2p also get you more mana, T13 2p too.
Anyone else having d/c issues on Hagara Heroic? we have about 3-6 ppl d/c every attempt and we can't isolate what is causing it, as it's pretty much everyone in the raid d/cing and just random who happens to have it happen to them.
Just now happened to us too Meresgi. We think it happens when people get 10 stacks of frostflake. we all dc'd as soon as it happened.
Does anybody know if you can use heroic tier tokens to upgrade your LFR gear?
Oh, ok. I didn't mean "tier" but rather other items like the FL heroics where you got a token/badge or whatever to upgrade your normal mode piece but it looks like maybe they changed it since they added LFR.
Its really hard to say here. Hunter has changed so much over the course of this expansion. Going from a Mana class to a Focus class just did not happen as seemlessly as they had hoped. You speak of not wanting a "stationary" class and that is just the norm for ALL ranged classes. All ranged classes are created with cast times that are not conducive to high movement. Personally... I am torn between leveling my Priest and my mage, but I already have a Shaman, Druid, Warlock and Hunter. Out of those 4 classes, I have pushed my shaman to resto, and my druid to "guardian". Warlock is going to go through a virtual complete revamp with MoP, so I would stay away from it, and push you towards hunter. With the pet revamp that was "promised", you will be able to use whatever pet you want as whatever role you want it to have. We still have a bit to wonder about this revamp and with the loss of the old talent system, what are they going to do with Pet Talents?
No, there are no "Sunmotes" or Fire Shard or whatever in this tier. Blizzard finally figured out how to make sure all slots can be easily itemized for heroic mode raiders, and then they proceeded to forget completely about it. Thus, your Relic, cloak and non spirit off-hand will always just be 397.
Anyone have this on their server?
Vial of sands, you know to make that mount you turn into and someone can ride on you, has mats that are going of REALLY cheap.
I don't understand why someone would take a 3k gold item and sell it for 900g on the AH. The guy doesn't have 1-2 like he bought too many. He has 27 on the AH which adds up to over a 50k gold loss since the only place to get them is from the NPC at 3k a pop.
Anyone know anything about this? Why someone would do that or maybe is there another way to get them that is escaping me as I would really like to know whats up.
On the plus side it makes for getting the mount at about 10k gold vs 25k+ as most people payed :D
EDIT: Illidan server horde side if you were wondering...
Are they really 3k on your server? That's rather cheap.
It's a dupe. People are finding a way to duplicate big ticket items. Some servers have stacks of 20 queens garnets for 1k each or some shit.
