Sorry, still pretty new to end game WoW, what are these spreadsheets? And for some reason when I try and test out gear/rotations on test dummies I can never break 20k or so, even though I can do 30k+ on fights like ultraxion. Must not be in the same mind set while I'm in town behind a dummy.

Raid buffs. You get +5% to every stats, +10% attack, +500 agi/str, +10% attack speed bonus, +3% dmg, On top of this, there is many debuff applied on the buff by every raids members that increase your damages. Roughly, it's a 40-50% damages increase over your unbuffed damage, but it depends of multiples things.

Anyway, spreadsheet are just .xls sheet or webform that allow you to input everything you have equipped and simulate your damages. You can generally find the most popular one on elitistjerk in the class guides.

    http://elitistjerks.com/f78/t111329-...1_a/#Resources
A few are listed at the bottom, but I'm not exactly sure which one is the best since I'm not playing rogues.

The proc isnt as common as it should be and it doesn't do enough damage vs the stats and raw damage increase than the ilvl difference would give you.
But spire is so much prettier!

I'm gonna mess around with the staff i guess. That agi does look nice.

Rogues don't really need spreadsheets anymore now that this is available: http://shadowcraft.mmo-mumble.com/

Enter your char's name/realm and then play with the settings. At a glance you don't seem to be doing anything wrong but keep in mind that this tool assumes a lot of ideal situations. Just turn off a lot of the buffs and you'll see your simulated DPS drop like a rock. Also realize that a lot of fights require time off target, and if it's enough time for your agi stack from fangs to fall off then you suffer quite a lot of lost DPS. Ultraxion really pumps up your numbers because he can't parry or dodge and you can cloak off two of his bombs.

I know epic gems and shoulder enchant would help, but anything else I may be missing would be greatly apreciated. I feel like I'm doing good dps in DS, but hear of other rogues doing so much more.
Quit slacking and get your professions leveled. You are doing amazingly well with your gear but not having maxed professions and getting their bonus is just as bad as not enchanting your fangs. You can even get inscription up and bypass the Deepholm quest bullshit to get exalted with Therazane.

Also you want peerless stats to chest(+20 all) instead of your current one.

I just came back so I'm still in the process of replacing my shit from march before firelands but I'm making good progress thus far but you are well on your way. Whats your rotation like?

That's really bad, really really bad. I pull 25k dps on a dummy and I have a ilvl of 379 which is 17 below yours.

You must have a REALLY BAD rotation or something because there is no reason it should be that low.

Check my rogue, he is in my sig.

(Also ignore my non-enchanted offhand as I finally got the pickpocket done to get the fangs quest rolling and saw no point in enchanting a weapon I'm replacing shortly)

Yeah I don't have a clue. Although I havn't gone and given it a full try in a couple weeks. My raid dps still seems fairly good, 35k~ on ultra, 48k~ on warlord, both gimmick fights, Think I did 27k~ on morchok.

To be on topic: We tried ultra again tonight. Ele shaman, who stayed alive the entire fight, did 13k dps...... And its a normal guildy too, not a pug.

I'm really concerned about my dps lately. I'm a 393 ilvl frost dk, and on our heroic progression i'm usually 6th-8th on the dps meters and it's driving me insane. I'm following the normal priority system, but it just feels like i'm not doing as much dps as I should be. I ranked on N Zon'ozz this week at 56.8k dps, but that doesn't even seem like enough. I'm usually at the 38-50k range depending on how high movement a particular fight is. Anything gear wise i'm doing horribly wrong? Beyond the LtS, that's the next piece of gear to go when the Creche or bone link fetish drops again. I'm always behind our 3 dragonwraths (which is of course expected) a shaman and a ret pally it seems.

Nothing glaringly wrong that I can see with your gear (aside from missing your synapse springs tinker on your gloves). Have you considered/tried Masterfrost? I respecced/reforged my DK recently and actually, despite messing up the rotation (the only downside to masterfrost is how big of a deal that is), I still noticed a small increase in dps.

Question: I tried to prove to this guild I've been raiding with for the last 2 weeks of solo tanking Deathwing as a Paladin. While I've proved I can eat all impales no problem, I'm having an issue with, when I bubble the impales via Hand/Divine Shield, then if I'm a split second too late then the guy 2nd on threat list gets an 1 shot slap (Fury War in this case)

Any tips on that or do I need to cancel the aura that split second sooner?

EDIT: We could probably win too if the hunter and shadow priest do more than 25k (shocking, yup). Just doing 40k would probably just make everything go fine lol

Have the 2nd in threat time a cooldown or string of cooldowns with your threat drop.

    bubble > war puts on sword n board > shield wall+Enranged Regeneration+Pain suppression+Guardian Spirit+focusing heals+potion+soulstone+battlerez+healthstone > retaunt

Not hard and I don't know anything that hits hard enough that could take someone out in 3 seconds with a combination of those buffs.

The aggro reset isn't instant, so if you time your bubble with the end of the channeling, you won't lose threat at all. Beside that, I don't think there is any other way beside clicking your cancel aura macro once the channeling is over and you get the debuff.

Any tips on Hagara heroic? Our lightning phase seems to kill 1 -2 people each time, even when we execute a good X connection on the lighting, it just lasts 4-5 seconds longer then it should. Mostly it seems to be due to people's pets chaining lightning back into people (why blizzard has this happen is beyond me) but this seems to be our biggest hurdle.

Never did it on heroic, but what I do on my hunter is "move to" command as soon as the elemental dies. Since you're not attacking, your pets wont move anywhere until the end of the phase.

And would it help to have designated marker on the ground on both side? Range can get in place while the elemental dies? Melee get the closest one.

How important is having the right professions? For example, my Hunter was one of my first characters, so I leveled Skinning and Mining to help make money. Mining provides 0 DPS value, and Skinning's crit rating is relatively weak.

I always thought the actual professions didn't matter too much because in the grand scheme of things, 100 or so Agility would only affect the extreme min/max'ers. If that's the case, then technically maxing professions shouldn't matter either, right? Unless it's the lack of effort you're talking about.

It's more a lack of effort thing. If your professions are at all useful to your dps you should be at least pushing them up enough to the point where you obtain the benefits. That being said, for the ones that allow for primary stat upgrades, they're typically equal to 80 more of the stat, which is better than most enchants, and only 10 less than the food buff.

If you're in a hardcore guild you should be picking non-gathering professions. If you are not it doesn't matter.

I made a point with him because he for 1) doesnt have his shoulder enchant 2) hasn't even started the rep grind for it(still hated with therazane) and 3) has the profession(inscription) which can give him a shoulder enchant that is 3x as good as it therefore saving him a lot of time and effort the 3 weeks it takes to get that rep to exalted.

I think you could drop mining and pick up something else since double gathering professions I find is overkill or alternatively level an alt for it. I plan to get a herber to feed the bloodlust that will be elixirs for when MoP comes out and make a killing(as I a guildie of mine did who made like 150k gold with cata release on a server that was 10x smaller then illidan is) so I'm leveling a druid for that specific reason. I am keeping my enchanting/engineering and alchemy/jewelcrafting static on my 2 main toons.

But this effect is permanent, and you keep it between expansion. I mean, you eat food and flask, right? Why not add another 100 agility from jewelcrafting or blacksmith (cost around 3-4k to level if you take your time)

Craft are also very useful if you need gold. You will make a ton more money with them than you do with gathering skills.

On my Rogue I really can't be assed for Therazane rep/quests, so I brought the pvp enchant. Still gives 50 agi, but I miss 25 mastery.

For none tank classes, they can pretty much get away with this, as the pvp enchants covers base stats, but not stamina!

I'm not sure about 3-4k gold, as some of my enchant crafts took 50-100g per craft, and sold for 1-5g, so they're basically complete losses. And I'm the kind that looks up all available recipes, etc., so I'm not power leveling the craft either. At least on my server, 10-20k seems more realistic for most professions.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that crafting will make you money with patience and some market-watching (I am leveling Enchanting on my DK). It's just that for a casual like me who likes to level alts, taking 2 production professions on all of them is really cost prohibitive. But I know the original question came up for a raider asking for opinions, so we're kinda getting off track here.
