They are changing Deterrence mechanics. The change on the PTR is making Deterrence a flat 30% damage reduction. I do not know if thats "In addition" or if its just being changed into a shield wall ability.
Oh well, that is quite awesome and opens up a whole lot more uses. Just wish you could actually do crap with it up.
Heroic Ultraxion: AMZ doesn't work to save a group? I remember in Firelands I could drop AMZ on a 6th or 7th lash from Majordomo and negate almost all of the dmg (75%) of the dmg, but on Hour of Twlight I just got facefucked for 220k hit and 65k absorb. when 75% of the 300k should be 225k absorb.
I'm no Death knight, but isn't there a maximum limit to the damage absorbed? Like 50-60k?
[edit]
Spell description
Places a large, stationary Anti-Magic Zone that reduces spell damage done to party or raid members inside it by 75%. The Anti-Magic Zone lasts for 10 sec or until it absorbs (10000 + 2 * AP) spell damage.
CDs like AMZ and PW:B were great for Chimaeron because their damage reduction was applied at the same time for everyone, resulting in a much greater overall absorb than should be possible. Unless they've changed the mechanic, I don't see why AMZ should be fucking you like that.
You should thank your lucky stars that it absorbed 65k. During t11 it would absorb something like 35-40k total.
This is why it worked in Majordomo for absorbing Scythe's on Majordomo. When damage is large and hits everyone under the bubble at the exact same time, the server mechanics make the bubble absorb more than it should. They actually changed the way PW:B because of this. The skill was far too powerful on certain encounters and not powerful enough on others. With AMZ becoming a talented CD ability in MoP I can only assume that AMZ will receive a similar treatment before MoP beta is completed.
Anybody have experience soloing Culling of Time on a Hunter? I'm around 340 ilvl, but I got my 378 weapon, and wanted to give it a shot. I've looked around, but couldn't get too much besides camo'ing past as much of the gauntlet as possible. I'm mainly concerned about the Infinite Corruptor's DoT stacking, are there any items that can remove that effect?
Odd, I don't understand your concern. I know nothing of hunters but from what I gathered, you send a tank like pet in, and if there's lots of mobs, redirect and multishot everything to hell. If you're anyway decent (not saying you aren't, but from what I've seen from hunters) doing 15k DPS shouldn't be an issue and you'll down the boss/mobs quicker than you think. None of it should actually pose a problem to you. Just bring some meds/bandages if concerned.
I looked up the boss just now, I was never aware of a debuff that goes on you that is so harmful lol.
But wowhead comments suggest 1.6k DPS from each person to down it reasonably. If you send your pet in and pop all cooldowns/pots (say, 20k DPS) then it'll drop before the debuff becomes a threat for you.
Wait for Odon or another hunter to comment before going in though. I'm just going through what I think should be sufficient.
Go marks, use chimera shot to heal, issue is no longer an issue.
You're forgetting about the ticking twilight whatever the fuck that speeds up as the fight goes on, that also eats the shield. If that mechanic wasn't in the fight? Sure AMZ would work. But as the fight drags out the ticking dot fucks it up.

Is my Rogue. Recent 85 and unsure what my VP purchase order should be. I am thinking shoes, belt back maybe?
As far as I know the back piece is BIS for every class? Maybe a few exceptions I'm sure, I haven't looked that in depth
As far as biggest upgrades, the boots and belt are obvious - although there are others out there.
If you pretend everything is the same ilvl, then Ring/Neck/Back are the best I think, followed by belt, boots (id save vp though) throwing (get).
These were my rankings at one point, the number after each item indicates the DPS gain per slot and the rank of the item:
Thrown Vendor 159.1 #2
Ring Vendor 427.9 #4 CHECK
Neck Vendor 390.3 #2 CHECK
Cloak Vendor 210 #2
Belt Vendor 76.1 #2
Chest Vendor 460.4 #4 behind tier*
Boots Vendor 270.4 #5 - #2 norm*
Bracers Vendor 153.0 #6
#2 means the only thing better is the heroic version. The lower the number, the more things above it including normal mode. This was all fresh out of FL with literally NO FUCKING HEROIC DROPS. Belt is skewed cause a BOE dropped our first night in DS.
Boots, Belt, Helm, then whatever. Use this tool, rogues.
So rogue or feral for pvp at 85? lvling the druid now and tanking is pretty fun on it, havnt tried much pvp at this low of a level though.
