Any suggestions on how to deal with heroic Morchok on 10 man?
Any suggestions on how to deal with heroic Morchok on 10 man?
Icy veins usually have very good strategy, and very detailled information. They have by far the best explanations for the encounter imo
http://www.icy-veins.com/morchok-detailed-strategy
But if you just want a few quicks tips
-4 healers if you can afford. If not, put your best healer on Kohcrom side, and the other two on Morchok side.
-The tank and "offtank" (someone who can mitigate every stomp, or has decent defense/hp) need to stay stacked at any time since the target closest to the tank take x2 damage.
-The other 3 members should also stay stacked the whole time (mark the best players, and have the other two follow him). Their objective is to take every crystal while remaining in range of morchok's stomp.
Since stomp always happen at least 3-4 seconds before the crystal explode, you don't have to run to the crystal immediatly as it spawn. Make sure to take stomp, then walk to the crystal
What's your setup?
Otherwise
2 healers
2 tanks
6 DPS
split evenly into 2 groups, drag them far apart
Stomp is your major obstacle. As Morchock and his cousin cockmor wound up a Stomp, you need to make sure the tank and the designated soaker is the closest to the boss. The soaker ideally is plate, but Rogues (using Feint) work too and Priests pre-shielding themselves, or asking for a shield before stomp connects, also work.
As the boss summons the crystals, the tank needs to move near to the crystal as well to ensure stomp hits everyone (shared damage), but not close enough so the designated soaker is not as close as the other 3 taking the crystals.
The fight is basically the same as normal mode, except done in 2 small 5 man groups and the healing a bit more intensive due to rapid crystals.
EDIT:
4 healers is definitely a good idea. Or balance it. One "good" healer can solo heal his group fine, but at one point we had 2 (average) healers in another group (initially, 1, but he struggled too much) which made us win the fight. The berserk timer shouldn't be an issue, if i remember correctly he has LESS health in heroic lol
Unless your healers are absolute shit or are wearing 378 gear there's no reason you can't 2 heal h.Morchok. Especially now with the 15% debuff active.
Clear the trash to either side and fight on either side of the road.
Morchok tank doesn't have to move once he's positioned morchok, crystal will always spawn in the same direction so the ranged don't have to move much.
Rogues are the best soakers.
Mark your tanks, make people follow them during black blood so you can be in range of any emergency heals that are required.
Everyone should bandage up during black blood. No excuses.
Make sure your ranged group on cockmore aren't moving too early for crystal. Running through cockmore during a stomp is usually a wipe if you're only just learning the encounter.
We're running 2 tanks, 3 healers (resto druid on Morchok side, holy pld + shaman on cockblock.), 5 dps (we're solid on the dps, but ranged heavy). No problems on the Morchok side, but I suspect issues with either heals or tanks on cockblock.
If you post some world of logs it's pretty easy to diagnose your problems. If someone is taking more damage than they should be then they're the ones with the problem behavior.
What's the deal with the shades that follow people around?

Part of the WotLK launch event. There was a quest that gave you the memento and as long as you never turned it in, you got this 'pet' following you everywhere.
Anyone running scumbag cleave have tips on fighting pally teams? Primarily pally teams with a hunter or rogue or both on them. As the DK i'm getting chewed the fuck apart by them obviously, but we arnt forcing a trinket/bubble fast enough.
This is more of a battle.net question. Occasionally when I click on manage games on the account status page (my browser has me "logged in" most of the time, but always asks me to relog in when i click something containing personal information if i've closed the browser etc.) it will bring me to the log in page, and (not every time) will bring up an error saying "Too many attempts. (503)" before i've actually even done anything. Should this be something to worry about? ;o I can't tell if its saying that too many attempts have been made to log into my account or what. I never actually get locked out of/trying to log into my account and it has an authenticator but yeah :s. Anyone ever get this error?
What are they working on in maint today? Double extension lol
Any of you guys knows how to easily change your country in Battle.net? ^^; I see people selling the service to do it for you, but I wonder if I could find out for free D:
Any tips for heroic yorsashj?
We run yorsashj announce and do green>yellow slimes, we have like no problems with purple so we leave like everyone up. Our raid comp is RETARDED so we have some problems with the black adds going down fast enough due to like no cleave, and sometimes our priest gets owned by them. Tried 3healing it and and we got it to 0.5% one wipe. We've been killing every mana void even though I know we shouldn't be, but we are and hopefully next set of attempts we can ignore it and do every other. We were only killing it cause our first few attempts we were so far ahead of enrage and it was cleave-able but well stop. We blow lust on the yellow black slime since we get double black but we still have trouble getting them down fast enough.
The first boss heroic was a joke for us, doing slimes now and maybe ultrax next.
Ultraxion is now easier than Yorsahj with the 15% debuff.
I think aurik has a post in this thread (yeah have fun searching a 9k post thread) with the basics, skipping the first mana void helps tons.
I save one dps cooldown for yellow + black, and burn it on the second wave of kids. Usually this is my haste buff from herbalism + I tricks our arms warrior so she can bladestorm down the kids quickly. This leaves usually around 3 kids up by the time we have to hard switch to the next slime but they're at low health and get mopped up easily.
Boyiee: We're in the same position. However as it was getting late, we had to move on, so killed it normal. But as far as raid compilations go, I guess everyone's is different:
We tried 2 healers and 1 tank, 7 dps. It worked up to a point, but we were getting progressively screwed over due to spike Void Bolt damage on the Paladin tank. Changed to 3 healers and worked somewhat better, but still not enough.
We then went, for 1 attempt, 2 tanks, 2 healers, 6 DPS, with me, DK, main tanking. I insisted on starting so I can dump the most DPS on Yoshi before needing to "swap". I did it fine in DPS gear and due to the odds of getting black a lot, I ended up being top DPS, and I essentially doubled as a DPS, as the Paladin's main job from then on was to soak some void bolts (he had no offspec). This worked out a lot smoother overall for us, however, 2 DPS died about 40% in, and we just wiped it and moved on.
I'm confident if it kept going it would've been an easy win. There were no spike void bolt damage to worry about for the healers.
We were killing every void. I didn't know there was a trick to this. Will read up on it and feed it back to them to see if they'll want to try it.
EDIT:
Found his post, it was in the accomplisment one lol:

I've done it 10-man, yellow-green-red means you made a mistake choosing which slime to kill.
Here's the 6 possible spawn combos:
black — blue — green — purple: kill green, spread out and heal freely
black — blue — green — red: kill green, stack and heal freely.
black — blue — purple — yellow: kill yellow, stack and heal carefully
black — green — red — yellow: kill green, stack and heal hard / use cooldowns
black — purple — red — yellow: kill purple, stack and heal hard / use cooldowns
blue — green — purple — yellow: kill yellow, spread and heal carefully
We also don't kill the first mana void: we use hymn + mana regeneration talents, and then bring it down to ~400k while the slimes are incoming. We then wait to kill it until the next blue phase occurs and the next mana void spawns, and then soften that one up. This way we never have to deal with a mana shortage.
First red/yellow phase we pop most our healing/mitigation CDs, second red/yellow is heroism and the rest of our healing/mitigation CDs, we rarely get a third r/y phase but if we do the CDs from the first one should be back up.
If you're going to try 1-tanking Yor'sahj you should really use a DK or bear tank (with preference to DK). We were having trouble with him in an alt group I ran until it was proposed that I tank and the two tanks switch to their dps offspecs. DK's ability to self heal freely plus your magic damage mitigation just makes you an unstoppable wall in that fight. Having your 4p for tank is extra icing too on purple phases or when you have yellow-black-red up.
Depending on how your dps is, you should be able to ignore the slimes when they come out around 16-20% or so and be fine. I wouldn't recommend saving Bloodlust/Heroism for then though, as you should be using that on yellow-black-red.
black — blue — green — purple: kill green, spread out and heal freely < -- that should be kill purple, spread and heal freely
This fight is waaaay easier with a paladin healer. The one week we didn't have a paladin healer we had to 3-heal it (which is doable now with the 15% buff)
My group kills black for black-blue-green-purple. It's a flexible situation, that.
1. Get Firefox.
2. Install addon called Tamper Data
3. Login in into your account on battle net page, go to the page where you change your address (and where you used to change the country).
4. Press ALT, look at top, click on Tools and then Tamper Data.
5. When new window opens, click on Tamper Data in left top corner.
6. Go back to battle net page, click on Save Address button.
7. Message box should appear, click on Tamper.
8. New window should open and in right bottom corner you get "hasCountryChanged" and "newCountry". Change the value of "hasCountryChanged" to 1 and "newCountry" to GBR (to get Great Britain, use other values for different countries, like FRA for France).
9. Click Ok.
10. You are done (dont forget to click on Stop Tamper when finished)
Like that.
