noob question, what's a good way to make a lot of gold before MoP?

I don't really have any professions, have about 20-30k right now, is there anything I can buy with honor to sell for a profit or justice points? I haven't played at all during cata so my gear is terrible.

Farm old raids/instances, preferably with lots of bag room. Note that this gold is being cut soon so you'd get the equivalent as if you're in X man group (depending on raid difficulty)

i.e. a SSC run can net you 2000 gold excluding the last boss
Tempest Keep drops 250g/boss @ 4 bosses, if you can solo the last
Each trash mob drops nearly 1g
NPC drops

Alternatives can be:
Boosting people
Doing dailies (16g a pop)
Don't spend any money
Nothing worth selling now, better to use it on yourself to power yourself up for more easier farming

Depends how fast you're killing stuff, outside TK, WotLK heroics are generally the best money actually.

Don't worry tooooooo much about gear. What class are you? Generally DKs, Hunters will have an easier time. Unsure about other classes, but it's all about efficient pulls/AOE. The mobs are not that hard but can pose significant threat if you underestimate them. A quick evening spent in dungeons gathering JP, 378 dungeon gear and buying some 378s with JP and 1 or 2 with VP is more than enough. If you lack a weapon, buy one with honor (the 378 pvp ones).

Do explain, I'm interested. Making a killing on Frostweave cloth and greens? I did a ton of HC pit of saron farming for hilt and made quite a chunk of gold from that.

How do you folks handle movement and ability use?

I feel like I do okay until I have to do something like kite/strafe while navigating obstacles and keeping my target in view for spells or abilities, or if I'm having to move and mouse-select a specific target out of a group too large for effective tab-selecting.

I have a 10-button mouse (though some buttons are less convenient than others) and tend primarily use it for movement and various cooldowns, and use the top row numbers 1-5 for various macros containing attacks/heals etc. Even with tying in mod:alt/ctrl sections to 1-5, it seems hard to keep everything I might want to use close at hand if I'm having to use the mouse for something other than movement. I have a few things set to 6-0, but those are pretty much inaccessible when using WASD for movement.

Any tips?

first of all, what class are you playing?

Much of the fluidity when doing movement/DPS'ing at the same time comes from how comfortable you are with your rotation. You should be able to press 1-3 while strafing with no problem, and understandably number 4 and up are almost impossible to do while strafing.

What I usually do is jump strafe, say I'm strafing to the right, and I need to press 6, I'll jump while strafing and the time it took for my toon to land, is enough for me to press 6. I can do this without looking at the keyboard. While jump strafing you can also click a target, what it really does is buy you time.
I dont know if this make any sense to you but that's what I do.

Mostly Frost/Blood DK and Enhance/Resto Shaman, though I play most jobs to varying levels.

I think part of my problem stems from the habit I have of holding the right mouse button down and using A/D to strafe rather than using Q/E. I'll work on breaking that habit, I guess. I'll try the jump-strafe and see how I feel about it. Thanks.

I'm a little weird for controls. I hate WASD, and change it wherever possible. In WoW, as a Hunter, I use the mouse for movement (Hold down both buttons to move forward and turn character/camera, hold down right to turn character/camera only, left to turn camera only), as well as certain abilities (Trap launcher, flare, things you HAVE to click for). Everything else, including strafing, is done with my left hand, using 1 through = and their ctrl+ alt+ and shft+ modifiers. Hunter just has that many abilities you need to be able to use quickly, especially with Engineering. Space is still jump, and I hit that with my left thumb. Also, I don't usually have issues with strafing and hitting buttons, because I actually rarely strafe. Almost all of Hunter's abilities are instants, which means I don't need to be facing someone for any length of time, unless I want auto-shot to fire. So I usually do what's called Jump-shots. It's as simple as it sounds. Jump, spin camera, hit ability, spin camera back, continue in original direction. This also gives auto-shot a brief chance to fire. You don't actually need to turn all the way around, either, just far enough that you have LoS, and are effectively strafing for a brief second. The rare times I do strafe is usually for pve, when I want to maintain auto-shot.

Anyway, I dunno how other classes are, really, but pretty much everything about Hunter relies on context. Sometimes it's better to do X, sometimes it's not. Regardless, someone's going to call you a Huntard.

just bind a/d to strafe, keyboard turning is completely unnecessary

A lot of people I know move WASD over to ESDF, gives you a lot more binds especially if you use shift/alt/ctrl modifiers, and moves your hand over so more number keys are easily accessible.

I wish I could do that but I'm too locked in, and unless I pvp'd seriously again I don't think it would ever be worth it for the time it would take me to adjust.
