Could any Warrior provide me some insight on their newfound soloing powers post 5.0.4?

I read bits on the DK forums saying Warrior are almost on par with Death Knights now (and I guess ahead of Paladins then), and that's make me quite curious on how much truth there is to that.

    It's somewhat simple really:

    Spam Victory Rush (talented)
    Spam Shield Barrier
    Spam Revenge + Shield Slam
    Spam Devastate

I don't think it can get any harder than that. A Shield Barrier at 60 rage should give a 50k shield with 397 gear. However, you can mime DK style soloing by putting a barrier up as soon as you have 20 rage, or more. 2 revenges + a shield slam should net you 30 odd rage not including weird procs, but remember that you can spam revenge quite a bit when the cooldown resets.

DPS gear and tank 2-piece is what you would need. Due to the changes in 5.0 I found tank gear to be utterly useless unfortunately. In full DPS gear i only lose roughly 15% avoidance (mainly dodge). At level 90 this may change, but I noticed really quickly that threat sucks (for obvious reasons) in full tank gear, which made me realise fully what the people in beta were complaining about (for DKs).

I haven't tried the talent second wind yet but apparently that's really good? Constant HP regen below 35% ...

Ok what 2 professions should I go for my DK (dps at least for now)?

My last 2 85s both were JC's, and I JUST leveled inscription on one. I've done Engineering and Enchanting like 12 times. I have a blacksmith, and it sucks to level.

What I've never leveled, and we don't have in the guild atm, is a Leatherworker, but that just seems weird to do on a plate class not that it makes any difference.

One option is to just do Mining for the start of mop for some added income and farm the mats up for bs/jc. What do you guys think?

The only thing I found useful for LW was the armor enchants ( if that ). I would take herb/alchemy combo. Love the fact I can transmute
shit for money and also some of the potions are kinda nice leveling. Plus was nice making my semi-tanking trinkets for my Warrior when the
RNG would not be favoring me for a drop.

    It's somewhat simple really:
From what i have been reading, it seems that the new Vengeance mechanic has made all tank classes into great soloers, not just Warriors.

Could make me dust my protection pally, who knows.

The harder the boss hits you the better (if you can recover from it), but on low level content (70s) it might be better to go fury and dual wield soul drinkers.

Protection Paladin is quite awesome at the moment thanks to Sacred Shield. On low level stuff you rarely take damage and with a Mending Enchant you will heal yourself back up to full anyway. Although I don't like the mitigation model. 50% damage reduction for 3s or heal yourself for 20-50k (crit) ? A tiny bit dull. And unlike before where a proc can make your Shield Bash crit for 50k+ damage, that's gone now and I do feel a little "weak". Judgement can crit up to 50k though I've noticed, and more, depending on mob.

If memory serves, the two best combos for min/maxing are BS/JC and BS/LW, but I think the second one might be more from a tanking perspective than a DPS one.

prot pally (and ret for that matter) has always been quite strong for soloing, just not quite on the same level as dk

even holy can do pretty well atm if you're able to maintain mana

What's making war really strong atm is actually all about that last sentence.

Think BC arena protholy that basically became impossible to damage once they got below 35%.

You just have to be willing and able to let yourself sit at 30% all day and make sure you don't get 1 shot.

Sounds like you don't want to do Engineering again, but Synapse Springs provides the highest average stat bonus of all of the professions (unless I missed a nerf somewhere) and if you're playing Frost spec it lines up perfectly with Pillar of Frost.

    I'm going with BS/Eng, personally.

It sounds like that cause you're exactly right, I don't want to lol. But I do know all the bonuses and I do know that it still rocks, and I really hate that fact. I'm probably going to end up BS/ENG in the end, but maybe do mining+bs for now and drop mining for eng after the post-mop market settles down.

edit: actually maybe reverse that order. Mining+Eng so I can get goggles, then drop mining for BS eventually when I've made enough money off of people spam leveling profs.

I just took a look at the Wowhead entry for Synapse Springs, and it appears it was nerfed to average 320 STR like most other professions. Too bad. I'll stick with Engineering anyway - there are too many other fun and useful aspects of it to give up.

I see that it was reduced, but it is still the best the way it lines up with some cd's I believe.

I've already gotten up to 150 mining in the past hour, and have a ton of mats for engi already. Could always choose BS first though.

Anywho who quested on beta can give me a how-to on begging questing in mop?

Is it a Hero's Call Board type deal like Cata was, or should I log out somewhere special?

If you're online when they flip the switch(12am PDT), assuming everything goes as they're claiming. No matter where in the world you are, you'll get a quest pop up even if your log is full. The quest sends you to Varian or Garrosh, depending on faction.

I thought you had to be in stormwind/org, but I could be completely wrong. Other than that, yeah, it's just the quest that pops up then do what it says.

The time is nearly upon us as the mists begin to part and a new age of discovery amidst turmoil begins! For those of you prepared to begin your adventures the moment Mists of Pandaria is launched in your region, we’ve put together some important details that should get your expedition underway.

As soon as we activate the new expansion content on launch, players who already have a Mists of Pandaria license with the data installed will gain instant access. If you’re in the game when the clock strikes midnight, you don’t even have to logout!

So, what happens at midnight for those of us with Mists ready to go?
A yellow System Message will appear in your Chat Log telling you to visit Orgrimmar or Stormwind to start your travels.
Level-85 characters will receive a new quest, no matter where they are in the world, which will guide them to Varian or Garrosh for further orders. If you’re online at midnight you will receive the quest even if your Quest Log is full -- or you can visit Varian or Garrosh to get started on your journey to Pandaria.
Level-85 players will notice their experience bars automatically change so that experience can once again be earned.
Players who are at the Character Creation screen at midnight will notice the button to create a pandaren character will be enabled. (Reminder: This also applies to players who don’t have a Mists of Pandaria license, as all races are now included with a base copy of World of Warcraft.)
Players who are at the Character Creation screen at midnight will notice the button to create a monk character will be enabled.
We’ve been very hard at work on this new technology with the goal of ensuring that players can enjoy a more stable and seamless transition into the next expansion than ever before. Our staff will be monitoring realm stability and gameplay issues around the clock, as we want to provide you with the best experience possible.

    We’ll see you on Pandaria!

So, can i log out at 11:55pm (PDT of course) and sit at the character creation screen for 5 minutes for the Monk icon to "light up" and gets to creating right at 12:00? or will I need to log completely first?
Yes, if you sit at the login screen the buttons will become enabled in real time. You shouldn't need to logout of your account.

What about us with 25 dailies? Did you guys test that yet haha
Yes. You'll have somewhat of a "soft cap" on quests. So if you're Quest Log is full at midnight, visiting Varian or Garrosh will still allow you to embark on the quest to Pandaria (though, before you do I'd suggested turning in all those dailies).

In other words, you won't miss receiving the quest if you have 25.
Remains to be seen how effective it is, however.

Better keep a few stacks of baby spice ready for the fucktards that will be piled directly on top of quest givers.

Turn on NPC nameplates and bind "Interact with NPC" to something close. Had that ready since people sat on flight trainer for cata.

So here's a bit of a 'moral' question for you guys: In the case of a rare spawn that is both wanted by hunters, but is also a part of an achievement to kill rare spawns, who should 'rightfully' have claim to the mob? This is assuming the mob is NOT actively being tamed.

The laws of Final Fantasy apply: if the mob is white, it's free game. Now, it IS a supreme dick move to fuck with a hunter who is actively taming a mob, but if you're the first person to it I don't see why it's "wrong" to tag/kill it.
