Is the beta server closed? I DL it months ago but wasn't too interested. I tried today to scout mat gathering areas and I was locked out...

Also, I plan to lvl my pld first with mining and enchant. Bad idea?

How do you turn pets into combat pets that can be sold on the AH?

Once made into a combat pet, are they in theory the same as a companion pet?

Someone's got the Ethereal thingy pet on AH for 500k. It's tempting. I don't have that money yet though.

Having trouble picking professions on my monk. I'm thinking of going with Inscription or Alchemy (don't have either of these on another character) and as the second profession, herbalism. Thoughts?

get both inscrioption and alch, they both together costed me 4k gold total to get from 525 to 600

inscription isn't that expensive and you will make some back. Think I spent about 3-5k a few months back from 1-525 and made most back.

They work the same as far as being able to summon them to walk around with. Kind of pointless that blizz kept both forms.

What's the pointless part? I'm confused, there's no "converting" anything, and how pissed would people be if suddenly you couldn't use your pets as pets just cuz you wanna pokemon with em?

Only thing I find annoying is that they made some unable to compete. Argent squire beating up other little kids or getting owned by a baloon would have been epic.

Anyone know of an add-on or combination of add-ons that would allow for a display of energy, chi, and stagger amount (either total damage in stagger or DoT value would be fine) for Monk? I've found several combo point displays that work for chi, but none which will also display energy.

I'm accustomed to using Blood Shield Tracker and DKi Runes/Diseases for DK tanking, and I'd love to have something like it for Monk.

Tillers farming thing, how long do the crops take to grow?

And is it midnight, like inscription and alchemy cd's?

I mean people kept saying shit like "omg farmville in wow" but I'm sure that farmville can provide more than 5 minutes of entertainment unlike this Tiller shit. Wahey, planted my crops and fixed them up, now I have to wait 24 hours.
